Chapter 31 It Doesn't Bite
Her short legs moved incredibly fast, and she darted past the still-shaken Sanni in a flash.
Sanni watched her small figure disappear into the distance, and suddenly snapped back to reality, shouting at the top of her lungs, "Baby, come back! Don't go inside!!"
Helian Jiao, however, continued charging forward without looking back: "Meatball, here I come~~~~"
Sanni knew that if anything happened to her younger sister, her grandmother would definitely not let her off the hook, so without thinking, she took off after her, calling out, "Sweetie, stop! Don't run anymore!"
Fortunately, her legs were much longer than Helian Jiao's, and she caught him at the edge of the bamboo forest.
Just as he was about to speak, he saw a long, black snake not far away, its upper body erect, spitting out its tongue in a triumphant manner.
Sanni swallowed back the words she was about to say, and her face turned pale.
Helian Jiao's eyes lit up, and her little voice was filled with excitement: "What a fat snake!"
So much meat!!
Upon hearing the sound, the long snake immediately turned its head to look over—
A pair of cold, sinister eyes sent chills down Sanni's spine; her legs felt frozen, and she wanted to run but couldn't move.
It’s over!
They're going to be poisoned!
However, the next second the giant snake fell straight down and then slid down the slope with a thud.
Helian Jiao immediately ordered unhappily, "Don't run away!"
She thought the snake was about to escape, so she hurriedly broke free from Sanni's hand and chased after it.
Sensing the approaching dragon's might, the giant serpent lay stiffly on the ground, not daring to move.
Seeing how obedient it was, Helian Jiao was quite satisfied and lifted it up by its stiff tail.
The moment she grabbed it, the giant snake's long body suddenly stiffened like a wooden stick, then became limp again.
The poor snake was so frightened by the dragon princess that it fainted.
Helian Jiao, however, happily dragged the snake to the dumbfounded Sanni and said, "Third Sister, can you hold this for me?"
This snake was far too long for the little princess who was less than a meter tall.
Her sweet, childlike voice was filled with the joy and excitement of about to eat meat.
Sanni was so startled that she took several steps back, looking at her with a terrified expression: "My goodness, my darling, you...you throw the snake away right now! Hurry!!"
Helian Jiao blinked, looking at her with an innocent expression: "Why throw it away? There's so much meat in it."
The dragon princess couldn't understand why she was afraid of a small snake, since in her inherited memories many humans caught and ate snakes.
Seeing that she looked like she was about to cry, Helian Jiao quickly said, "I'll take it myself, I won't let you take it."
Sigh, why do human brats cry so easily?
She sighed inwardly as she dragged the snake out, which caused another commotion.
Fearing they would all cry, Helian Jiao hurriedly shouted, "Look, it doesn't bite."
As he spoke, he shook the snake in his hand a few times.
The unconscious snake showed no reaction whatsoever.
Seeing this, the little girls were finally less scared.
Is this snake dead?
"He must be dead. Look, he's not moving at all."
After confirming that the giant snake was truly dead, the little girls returned to the bamboo forest to continue pulling bamboo shoots.
Helian Jiao, however, became somewhat troubled.
She didn't want to keep holding the snake's tail; it was all sticky and slimy.
She wanted to wash her hands and continue chasing butterflies, but she was afraid the snake would sneak away when she wasn't looking.
After all, when catching butterflies, she has to suppress her dragon might, otherwise she'll scare the butterflies away.
As I was thinking, a sudden inspiration struck me—I had an idea!
Ah~ I had insomnia last night, and my head hurts so badly that I can't type anymore. I'll finish it around 3 PM tomorrow.
