Chapter 119 Heroic Acts

Chapter 119 Heroic Acts

After parting ways with Lu Jin, Xia Zhen took the bus back home by herself, carrying a box containing small cakes, which Lu Jin had bought for her not long ago.

Although her sweets intake was controlled, he would indulge her a little in these situations.

Xia Zhen took out her phone to browse her WeChat Moments out of boredom, and happened to see a post that Lü Wang had made not long ago.

[This city is full of potholes, every three steps is a pit! Where is all our taxpayer money going?! I'm so angry I called to report it!]

The indignant text was accompanied by several pictures: a fallen billboard, a tree that was about to fall, and a manhole cover missing from the ground.

Several staff members were gathered around, looking at the sewer opening on the ground with puzzled expressions.

Lü Wang's post on WeChat Moments has received many likes.

Xia Zhen also liked the post and commented: "[Your Majesty is amazing! You have such a great sense of public morality!]"

She received a reply shortly afterward.

"Hmph, of course."

The sentence was followed by a cool emoji.

Gao Ling: [To encounter so many unexpected situations in one day, are you sure it's not because your bad luck is just too strong?]

Lü Wang: [Nonsense! Don't slander me! I'm having a lucky streak, I wouldn't have any bad luck!]

I never expected to see Gao Ling arguing with Lü Wang even after graduating from high school.

Xia Zhen was happy to watch the drama unfold, and at the next stop, even more passengers boarded.

There was no one sitting next to Xia Zhen. When a man saw Xia Zhen's face, he was immediately amazed. He quickly sat down next to Xia Zhen, making a big movement that bumped into her side.

This man wasn't particularly fat, yet he still moved out of his seat and leaned closer to her.

Xia Zhen moved further inside, displeased, trying to stay as far away from the man as possible.

The man didn't approach so obviously anymore; he kept glancing at the girl sitting next to him out of the corner of his eye.

She was young and beautiful, with a good figure. Her calves, exposed to the air beneath her skirt, were fair and slender.

Xia Zhen looked over with a cold gaze.

The man smiled amicably and looked away, as if his earlier glance at Xia Zhen had been casual.

Just then, Xia Zhen received a message from Lu Jin.

【Zhenzhen, when I have my vacation, let's go out and have fun.】

Xia Zhen quickly replied: 【Okay!】

While Xia Zhen was replying to the message, the man next to her turned on his camera and secretly took a picture with his phone.

Suddenly, a boy stood up at the back of the carriage and walked straight to the man.

Before the man could react, he was grabbed by the collar and lifted up. Then, a fist landed on his face, making him dizzy and knocking him to the ground.

The surrounding passengers gasped in surprise.

Xia Zhen looked up and saw the cold-faced boy, Song Heng.

Song Heng had lost his usual languidness; he was like a wild beast in the mountains, his claws fully exposed, radiating a silent sense of danger.

The man lying on the ground shouted angrily, "Who are you! What's wrong with you!"

Song Heng remained silent. He bent down, grabbed the man's collar with one hand, and clenched his fist with the other, then punched him repeatedly without hesitation.

The men's screams rose and fell.

Song Heng was tall, and judging from his aura, he was not someone to be trifled with. For the time being, no one dared to go up and stop him.

With the blond and red-haired underlings sitting behind them coming over to act as protectors, the three boys suddenly looked like a gang of delinquents.

The driver quickly asked, "What's wrong! What are you doing!"

Xia Zhen stood up and called out, "Song Heng!"

Song Heng ignored her, his dark eyes fixed on the man he had beaten black and blue, his hand continuing to beat him without stopping.

The driver applied the brakes and stopped the vehicle.

Xia Zhen swayed, and Song Heng dropped the man he was holding, straightened up, and grabbed her arm.

She looked up and met his eyes.

The boy's eyes seemed to be filled with thick, dark ink, dull and lifeless, concealing far too many of his emotions.

Xia Zhen had the illusion that he was a debt collector and that she owed him hundreds of millions.

The man on the ground was still groaning in pain.

Xia Zhen said, "If you keep hitting, you'll end up in the police station."

Song Heng's hand, which was gripping her arm, paused slightly. The next second, he withdrew his hand, the reckless and dangerous aura emanating from him dissipating. He took the tissue from the red-haired henchman and said casually, "Xia Zhen, what's going on in your head? Love?"

He had been sitting in the back of the car the whole time, and he saw her get in and sit down with a smile on her face. Soon after, she sat down and started looking at her phone.

In that instant, a thought suddenly popped into his mind: She's probably flirting with that guy named Lu Jin again.

Song Heng didn't know what was wrong with him. He should have gotten off the bus the moment he saw her, but he stayed until now.

Xia Zhen crossed her arms. "Yeah, I'm just love-struck, so what?"

How many people in this world aren't obsessed with romance?

She doesn't feel ashamed at all.

Song Heng was speechless for a moment, taken aback by her matter-of-fact attitude.

The driver ran over and shouted, "How can you, a young man, hit people like that!"

The man on the ground, clutching his face which was swollen like a pig's head, cried out, "Call the police! I want to call the police!"

The driver quickly took out his phone, muttering, "You delinquents are so lawless because you don't study properly! There's no law at all!"

The younger brother with red hair couldn't help but say, "What are you talking about! Our boss was just doing a good deed! He's a good person!"

The blond-haired thug chimed in, "Our boss beat him up because he tried to take advantage of the girl!"

"You're talking nonsense!" The injured man squeezed out two tears and said pitifully, "I was just sitting here doing nothing, who knew you delinquents would come and cause me trouble!"

In a confrontation with men, the red-haired, yellow-haired, and black-haired Song Heng were clearly at a disadvantage, since the three young men really looked like gangsters.

The passengers in the car couldn't help but start talking, mostly about how the younger generation was getting worse with each generation.

Yellow Hair and Red Hair couldn't out-argue so many people, and they were both angry and anxious.

Song Heng showed no emotional reaction to these criticisms; he had experienced worse times before.

Xia Zhen took a deep breath. "Shut up, all of you!"

Her sudden shout successfully drew everyone's attention and made them look at her in surprise.
