Chapter 13 Are you really going to hurt me?
Xia Zhen made no attempt to hide her intentions. She blinked her eyes, which were about to burst into tears, and asked, "I'm afraid to apply the medicine, what should I do?"
Lu Jin remained silent.
She then held her injured hand out to him, saying, "I'm so badly injured, are you going to just leave me to die?"
...It's just a scratch, it's not as serious as she's making it out to be.
But for a pampered young lady, this might already be considered a very serious injury.
Lu Jin put the bag of cat food he had finally managed to buy into his backpack, and then silently took the cotton swab with iodine tincture from her hand.
Xia Zhen's lips curved into a smile, a triumphant glint in her eyes. She moved forward, getting closer to him.
The boy silently touched her injured palm with a cotton swab. She gasped, her hand trembled, and she immediately pulled it back.
Lu Jin looked at her.
She complained, "You're hurting me."
After a while, he said, "I'll be gentler."
She then stretched out her hand again, but when the cotton swab came close, she instinctively pulled her hand back.
Xia Zhen said matter-of-factly, "It hurts."
Lu Jin's tone was flat and indifferent. "I haven't met you yet."
"That's because your aura was too intimidating. I'm easily frightened." No matter what she said, she was always right.
Lu Jin seemed to be losing patience. He asked, "Do you still need any help?"
“Yes, I need it.” Xia Zhen reached out her hand again.
But when the cotton swab came, her hand moved instinctively again, but this time she didn't succeed because another hand grabbed her wrist even faster, and then the cotton swab, which was soaked in medicine, rubbed the wound on her hand.
The force wasn't strong, and it didn't hurt, but Xia Zhen's eyes widened, and she said with heartache, "Lu Jin, you've gone astray!"
Lu Jin lowered his eyes and didn't respond to her words.
He carefully cleaned her wounds, his gaze focused, and his movements were different from his usual aloofness, surprisingly revealing a touch of tenderness.
Perhaps it was the interplay of streetlights and moonlight that bathed him, softening the sharp lines of the handsome young man's profile. His fair complexion seemed to glow, inspiring joy in those around him.
Xia Zhen also quieted down, staring intently at him, her eyes shining as if she had discovered some great treasure.
When Lu Jin looked up, he met the girl's overly intense gaze.
He was still holding the girl's wrist, which was different from his own; it was thin, soft, and seemed as if it would break at the slightest touch.
The temperature between our skin was both warm and too hot.
He slowly released his grip on her wrist, avoiding her burning gaze, but his hand still seemed to retain her warmth, burning intensely.
Xia Zhen smiled, "And here too."
She pointed to her knee, "I'm injured here too."
As she spoke, she took out new cotton swabs for him and then showed him the bottle of newly bought iodine chelation solution.
The boy pursed his lips, did not refuse, and instead picked up the new cotton swab, dipped it in the iodine solution from the bottle she was holding, lowered his eyelids, and gently touched her knee.
Xia Zhen pretended to be in great pain, and said in a way that sounded like both a complaint and a coaxing, "I might move around because I'm afraid of the pain, so are you sure you don't need to hold my foot?"
The cotton swab that landed on the wound suddenly lost its steady pressure.
Xia Zhen cried out in genuine pain this time, "It hurts!"
He hurriedly withdrew his hand, his eyes still revealing the helplessness he was trying to hide. "I'm sorry."
Xia Zhen hugged her legs and glared at him fiercely, "You did that on purpose!"
It was clearly the result of her deliberately causing trouble.
Lu Jin lowered his voice, "If you behave yourself, everything will be fine."
After he finished speaking, to Xia Zhen's surprise, he actually lifted her injured leg and placed it on his leg. His hand did not deliberately grope her, but instead held her ankle.
Xia Zhen tried to move, but his grip on her ankle was very strong, and she couldn't break free. Slowly, she felt a little smug. "Lu Jin, isn't this considered being a pervert?"
"You said you'd move around because you're afraid of pain."
Her legs were long, shapely, smooth, and flawless. On her first day at the new school, many boys were discussing how beautiful her legs were, saying that it would be a blessing to touch them.
Right now, his hand was touching the girl's leg, but his expression was indifferent, and his gaze remained fixed on the wound on her knee, without glancing anywhere else.
Xia Zhen couldn't help but ask in a low voice, "Lu Jin, are you a man?"
He said, "I don't want to answer nonsense."
She asked curiously, "Now that you're so close to me, don't you feel anything at all?"
"No."
Xia Zhen: "Oh."
She seemed to have lost interest in pursuing the matter, but that was only an apparent observation.
Xia Zhen glanced at him, leaned forward, and quietly moved a little closer to him. She glanced at him again, and then moved a little closer still...
Finally, with lightning speed, she reached out her hand towards his heart.
With a "snap," her wrist was grabbed by that slightly cold hand.
The boy raised his eyes, which were clearly calm, yet inexplicably exerted immense pressure on others.
Xia Zhen was good at feigning innocence. She said pitifully, "I just saw a mosquito flying over, so I wanted to chase it away for you."
Actually, she wanted to feel his heartbeat to see if he was lying.
The boy's voice was cold, "Are you sure you want to keep going like this?"
The cotton swab in his hand was gently placed on the wound on her knee.
This seemingly emotionless and indifferent boy, who appears as transparent as a ghost, actually threatens people!
Xia Zhen seemed to be meeting him for the first time. She shut her mouth, indicating that she was really scared and promised not to say anything more.
Lu Jin lowered his head and continued to treat her wound. The abrasion on her knee was slightly larger than the abrasion on her hand, and the dirt in the wound needed to be carefully cleaned.
As he changed the cotton swab, the girl's leg, which was draped over him, gently rubbed against him. Full of curiosity, she lowered her voice and asked, "Lu Jin, if I keep acting up, will you really hurt me?"
Her dark eyes, reflecting the moonlight, were both black and bright, and her soft voice was sure to spark the imagination.
The boy didn't even raise his head; his eyelashes cast a shadow in his eyes, blurring his emotions. He only swayed his lips slightly, saying, "Yes."
The hand on her ankle seemed to apply a little more pressure, but the cotton swab used to wipe the wound on her knee still applied only a light touch.
His ears turned red.
Xia Zhen's eyes held a deep smile.
Forget it, let's not expose him.
