Chapter 39 Adam's apple
Sitting on a bench by the roadside, Xia Zhen took a bite of strawberry mousse. It was very sweet. She then used a spoon to feed him a bite of cake.
Lu Jin tasted the sweet cream flavor.
Xia Zhen asked him, "Is it delicious?"
He nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Actually, he's past the age of being interested in sweets. When he was little, he was envious of Lu Ci. No matter what Lu Ci wanted to eat, his parents would try their best to get it for him.
One time, when they passed by a cake shop, Lu Ci started clamoring for cake. Her mother took Lu Ci into the cake shop, leaving Lu Jin standing outside alone.
one person……
Is he a person?
Lu Jin was slightly dazed.
It seems that a girl's shadow has appeared in his memory.
"Lu Jin."
He snapped out of his daze and looked at the girl in front of him.
She said with dissatisfaction, "I'm right here beside you! What are you daydreaming about? Are you thinking about other girls?"
A survival instinct stirred within Lu Jin, and he immediately replied, "No."
Xia Zhen looked at him suspiciously for a while, then finally smiled and said, "Okay, I believe you."
Lu Jin inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief.
Xia Zhen took another bite of cake and then fed him another bite.
Lu Jin felt that the amount of sugar in all the food he ate in a year was less than the amount in these few bites of cake. He took the girl's hand that she was about to offer him again, "Zhenzhen, you eat."
"But I want to share it with you."
It was clearly bought with his money, so if anyone should be sharing it, it should be him. She's really shameless.
Xia Zhen leaned closer to his face and gave him a sweet, light kiss. "Lu Jin, you're so good."
The girl had bright, dark eyes and a fair, delicate face. When she smiled, the corners of her lips and eyes turned up, revealing her joy without reservation.
Lu Jin reached out and pinched her cheek. "I'm not good enough."
Xia Zhen looked at him with a smile, "What's wrong with you?"
She grabbed his hand and shook it, saying, "Other girls have boyfriends who spend money on them, and so do I."
Miss Xia is really easy to please at times like this.
It's just an ordinary cake, of course, that's not enough.
Lu Jin leaned forward slightly, his forehead touching the girl's. He took her hand and gently kissed her fingers. "Zhenzhen, I will give you something even better in the future."
Xia Zhen reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck. "You've already given me the best thing."
He blinked.
She laughed and explained to him, "Your smile is mine, your joy is mine, your kisses are mine, your heart is mine, your whole being is mine."
Lu Jin's aloofness vanished completely, and his eyes inexplicably stung. He brought his thin lips closer to hers and whispered, "Is this enough?"
She shook her head. "Not enough."
His voice was hoarse, "Then what should we do?"
"Unless... you kiss me here." Her fingers gently traced the boy's fair neck.
His Adam's apple bobbed, his jaw tightened, and his eyes darkened. "Only one kiss."
If you kiss him too much, he will definitely lose control of himself.
Xia Zhen's eyes lit up, and she couldn't wait to raise her head and kiss the spot she had longed for for so long.
She felt so clearly the boy's Adam's apple bobbing powerfully and quickly when she touched him.
The girl was wicked; the moment she deliberately licked him, he could no longer restrain himself and pulled her onto his lap, while at the same time, her chin was roughly lifted up.
Under the lamplight, the boy's shadow bowed his head.
The living room was brightly lit.
Aunt Fang was busy in the kitchen. She glanced at Xia Zhen, who was sitting in the living room humming a song and playing on her phone, and asked curiously, "What good thing happened today? Miss is so happy."
"I think I did pretty well on the exam."
Aunt Fang was even more puzzled. She had never seen Miss so happy about the exam before.
Xia Zhen sat on the sofa, poked the little boy reading a book on her phone screen, touched her still slightly sore lips, and then leaned down on the sofa, hugging her pillow and letting out a low whimper of excitement.
The Lu family is embroiled in yet another conflict.
Lu Huiming came home late today. Hao Hui took out slippers for him to change into while asking with concern, "What's wrong?"
Lu Huiming's face was grim. He casually threw his briefcase on the ground with a loud thud, "The company is going to lay off employees!"
Hao Hui asked in surprise, "Layoffs? That shouldn't be the case. You've been with the company for over ten years. Even if there are layoffs, they shouldn't lay you off!"
Lu Huiming originally thought so too, but among those being laid off were employees who had worked there longer than him. He gritted his teeth and said, "They said the company's performance was bad and they had to lay off a large number of people. I've been working like a slave in the company, working myself to the bone, and they just want to get rid of me with a few words!"
Hao Hui was also anxious. "You need to think of something quickly. Can we send a gift to someone?"
They were able to make the down payment on this house thanks to that compensation money, but they still have to pay the mortgage every month. If Lu Huiming loses his job, Hao Hui's salary alone won't be enough!
Lu Huiming was annoyed and didn't treat Hao Hui well. "Do you think I haven't tried anything? Who doesn't want to give gifts these days? The problem is, who's willing to accept your gifts!"
A faint meow suddenly came from a room in the corner.
Lu Huiming's anger burned even more fiercely. He strode over and pushed open the door. "You're so noisy every day! It's all your bad luck that's brought misfortune to our family!"
The little white cat was frightened by the man's rude actions. It jumped into the boy's arms in a few steps, only daring to stare warily at the person standing at the door with its cat eyes.
Lu Huiming was even more annoyed. Of all the colors, this cat had to be white, just like that monster!
White, white!
You only see so much white in the homes of people holding funerals!
Lu Huiming shouted, "Lu Jin, throw it away!"
Lu Jin remained silent, his grip on the kitten still tight.
"Fine, you're not going to throw it, huh? I'll throw it!" Lu Huiming stepped forward, but before his hand could even touch the cat, Lu Jin pushed him away.
Lu Huiming was instantly enraged and slapped him across the face, yelling, "You think you're all grown up now!"
A red handprint quickly appeared on Lu Jin's fair face, and a little blood seeped from the corner of his pale lips. He heard a buzzing sound in his ears, but even so, he did not cry out in pain.
What Lu Huiming disliked most was Lu Jin's stubbornness. He raised his hand high again, and Hao Hui quickly grabbed it.
But she stopped Lu Huiming not because she felt sorry for the child, but because she said, "What kind of impression would it make if others saw you hitting him like this!"
