Chapter 151 You Have a Good Son

Chapter 151 You Have a Good Son

Wen Yu's home was decorated very warmly, but because too many unnecessary people came today, the atmosphere wasn't so warm.

Xia Zhen sat in the middle, Xia Yu sat to her left, and Wen Yu sat to her right.

Across the table sat Lu Jin, with only Lu Qi sitting next to him.

This generally confrontational situation between the two countries is not optimistic.

Lu Qi whispered to Lu Jin, "The situation is bad. There are three of them, and only two of us."

Lu Jin glanced silently at Lu Qi, who seemed to thrive on chaos. He was there to pursue someone's daughter, not to fight them.

Seeing Lu Qi and Lu Jin exchanging glances, Xia Yu frowned, thinking to himself that Lu Jin, that little white-haired brat, dared to try and steal his wife, and that Lu Qi must have been instigating him.

Receiving Xia Yu's hostile gaze, Lu Qi smiled innocently. He wasn't the one who kidnapped his daughter, so why was Xia Yu looking at him with such hatred?

Making eye contact with Lu Qi is just a waste of life.

Xia Yu withdrew his gaze and asked calmly, "So, besides me, you all knew about these two children being together?"

Wen Yu replied, "I only found out recently."

Lu Qi nodded, "I only found out about it not long ago."

He said that not even one out of ten things he says might be true, who would believe that?

Xia Yu told himself not to get angry, he mustn't get angry. He tried his best to remain calm and looked at Xia Zhen, "Why did you hide it from me?"

Xia Zhen answered honestly, "I'm afraid you'll break us up."

Lu Jin said, "It's not Zhenzhen's fault. I instigated her to keep this a secret."

"Do you think I'm a fool?" Xia Yu sneered. "My daughter is the one with all the tricks up her sleeve."

Lu Jin was speechless.

Xia Zhen smiled slightly embarrassed.

Indeed, in Xia Yu's eyes, even if the taciturn Lu Jin had taken advantage of his good fortune, his honest appearance didn't seem like he would have any wicked intentions.

As a member of the Lu family, he certainly wouldn't have any wicked ideas; all he had were crazy ideas that could kill people.

Xia Yu then asked Xia Zhen, "Since you wanted to keep it from me, why did you decide to tell me today?"

Xia Zhen obediently replied, "Because I've always felt uncomfortable. Dad is so good to me, I shouldn't have kept it from him. I've always felt sorry for you and felt very guilty, so I couldn't help but confess today."

Good, at least she doesn't completely disregard him as her father.

Lu Qi sighed. How could Xia Yu be so easily fooled?

Xia Zhen did feel guilty, but this guilt was directed at Lu Jin.

Lu Jin had been with her for so long, but they had never been officially recognized. Even in front of Xia Zhen's parents, he could only be a friend, as if he couldn't be seen in the light of day.

However, he truly cannot be brought to light.

But at least Xia Zhen had a conscience. She couldn't bear to see Lu Jin suffer such injustice, so she confessed everything, determined to give Lu Jin a proper status.

Lu Qi glanced at his son beside him.

Sure enough, even though Lu Jin's face didn't show any expression, the slight curve of his lips betrayed his good mood.

He was very lucky to meet a girl who wouldn't want him to suffer any injustice.

Many people in this world never meet someone who will absolutely favor them throughout their lives.

Xia Yu asked Wen Yu, "You knew about this all along, but you didn't intend to stop it."

Wen Yu retorted, "Why should I stop it?"

Xia Yu: "Do you think they're a good match?"

“At least for now, it seems appropriate.” Wen Yu’s eyes curved into a smile. “Being together makes them both better, and I can’t think of any reason for me to stop them.”

Before Xia Yu could say anything, Wen Yu interrupted, "You don't actually think that Zhenzhen's sudden dedication to studying and getting into a university that would make you proud is just because she loves learning, do you?"

Xia Yu snapped out of his daze, then remembered something and instantly looked at Lu Qi.

When the admission notice arrived, Lu Qi even came to him to show off Lu Jin's admission notice.

Lu Qi smiled, "Xiao Yu, don't blame me, I've reminded you many times."

Yes, besides the admission notice, there was also the photo of Xia Zhen and Lu Jin that Xia Yu had received. Now that I think about it carefully, wasn't Lu Qi implying something?

Previously overlooked details suddenly came to mind, and then more and more things seemed amiss.

He didn't realize it until so late!

Xia Yu suddenly thought he was going to have a heart attack; the usually quick-witted and intelligent man had actually failed here.

Unlike Xia Yu, Wen Yu is now at peace. "Zhenzhen is doing well in her studies, and she's not so picky about food anymore. She used to never touch vegetables, but now she can eat two leaves. And recently she's not as obsessed with sweets as she used to be... In my eyes, she is indeed developing in a positive direction."

Wen Yu paused for a moment, then continued, "I have to admit that I don't usually pay that much attention to Zhenzhen, but since she moved in with me, I've really felt the changes in her. If being with someone can make your life better, then I don't think there should be any reason to break them up."

Finally, Wen Yu concluded, "A good romantic relationship is about mutual growth."

The two adult men present suddenly felt a bit conflicted.

Xia Zhen looked at Lu Jin with smiling eyes, as if to say, "Congratulations, you've won over your future mother-in-law."

Lu Jin's heart was burning with emotion. He felt inexplicably ashamed, and with his eyes lowered, he whispered, "I am the one who was affected and became a better person."

If he hadn't met Xia Zhen, he would never have known what that bittersweet feeling was, and perhaps he would have succumbed to his cruel, almost cruel fate.

That was all there was to his life.

Without a doubt, his life changed dramatically the moment he met her.

Wen Yu looked at Lu Qi and smiled, "Mr. Lu, you have a good son."

Lu Qi didn't mince words, "Of course, after all, he's my son..."

"It turns out that children who didn't grow up under your tutelage are the ones who are more outstanding."

Lu Qi smirked. "Heh."

Xia Yu's mood suddenly improved a lot, and he asked Xia Zhen with renewed vigor, "You should know that Lu Jin's illness is hereditary."

The color that had finally returned to Lu Jin's face faded, and his complexion became slightly paler.
