Chapter 54 I Will Be Good to You
Although no one was passing by, Lu Jin was much more reserved than the bold Xia Zhen. He didn't give the girl a chance to tempt him and quickly backed away.
But the girl's tears were still falling freely, as if they were free. She stared at him with her red eyes, her resentment about to burst forth.
As Lu Jin wiped away her tears, he asked her softly, "Didn't I do as you said?"
She said in a muffled voice, "The time was too short."
"Zhenzhen, why do you always like to push your luck?"
She said matter-of-factly, "If it weren't for the fact that you like me, I wouldn't be taking advantage of you!"
That makes so much sense; it could make even the hardest-hearted person overjoyed.
Lu Jin had previously worried that she was genuinely in pain and crying because of her injury, but now he clearly understood that the girl was deliberately using tears to manipulate him.
There was an undisguised smile in his light-colored eyes. He reached out and pinched the soft flesh of her face, seemingly helpless but actually indulgent. "Your skin doesn't feel thick, so how can you say such shameless things?"
Xia Zhen couldn't hold back when he called her shameless. She grabbed his hand and pretended to bite him.
He showed no intention of resisting; instead, he pretended to be afraid and closed his eyes.
The boy under the moonlight had white hair that was both cold and soft, bathed in the cool moonlight, and skin as white as jade. He was so pure that he seemed not to belong to this world.
But when he indulged her, the tenderness that appeared between his brows became the best weapon to easily lure people into the abyss.
The boy opened his eyes slightly, meeting her focused gaze. His eyes curved slightly, and even that faint smile was so alluring.

Every part of it was so beautiful that it touched her heart!
Xia Zhen couldn't take it anymore. She buried her head in his chest, hugging his lean waist tightly. Her nose was filled with his scent, as if she was completely enveloped by him. Her heart was pounding.
Lu Jin gently stroked her back, as if coaxing a frightened animal cub.
After a long while, Xia Zhen secretly raised her bright eyes, and then she met the boy's clear eyes.
She quickly lowered her head again, pressing her face against his chest, and could hear the strong and powerful heartbeat in his chest cavity.

The surge of hormones in her body told her that this was what being in love felt like.
He asked in a low voice, "Are you shy?"
"I'm not shy at all!" Xia Zhen raised her face again, her cheeks flushed with excitement, making her look beautiful and adorable.
Lu Jin's thin lips brushed against her ear, and he deliberately lowered his voice, "If it's not shyness, then what is it?"
Xia Zhen's entire body went limp. She stepped back slightly, covered her ears, and cried out, "Lu Jin, you've fouled!"
Lu Jin blinked, looking quite innocent.
If Xia Zhen ever hears someone call him a stone again, she will definitely argue back!

He had to admit that even he himself didn't have enough confidence to convince the girl that he was worthy of walking with her until she said it herself.
She probably didn't realize how much impact and happiness her every unintentional act brought him.
