Chapter 162 Innocence
Yes, don't let Min Le's quiet demeanor fool you; he's already a well-known suspense writer online.
In the past, he used to write books where both men and women were just supporting characters. Later, he fell in love, and his stories gained a beautiful and charming female character. But then he broke up with his girlfriend, and his writing style became lifeless again.
Wu You dared not read too much of Min Le's manuscript; it was too depressing. He couldn't help but worry that if a conflict arose one day, Min Le would kill him, his roommate, using the methods described in the book.
To Wu You's surprise, Mu Zhijing actually came along to join in the fun.
Wu You then saw another girl following Xia Zhen out, also acting suspiciously. He said curiously, "That beautiful girl seems to be in the same industry as us."
Mu Zhijing's gaze lingered on the girl.
Song Zhu, the second young lady of the Song family, is also his half-sister.
Xia Zhen was led by Lu Jin into a forest path. The further they went, the fewer people there were. Her sense of excitement returned, and she looked at him with sparkling eyes.
Lu Jin reached out and pinched her cheek. "Don't think about lewd things. It's just that we have a lot of rats following us today."
Xia Zhen gave a disappointed "Oh".
After wandering around a few intersections, the people behind him were left far behind.
Lu Jin saw that the girl still looked listless. She had taken a shower and washed her hair to see him, and changed into a beautiful smoky purple dress. If he ignored her carefully made-up appearance, then he would really be clueless about romance.
They walked to a small lake where the breeze was very pleasant.
Xia Zhen was looking at the moonlight reflection on the water when she suddenly heard him call her name.
“Zhenzhen”.
"Um?"
The moment she looked up, her chin was grabbed and a kiss landed on her.
Xia Zhen suddenly perked up. She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, and he lifted her up. She clung to him, and whether it was the breeze or not, her heart felt itchy.
Just as he had almost completely taken her breath away, his warmth withdrew slightly, but he was reluctant to part from her. Instead, he gently pecked her lips, and even the moonlight could not find a gap to cast light and shadow between them.
He said, "I miss you so much."
Xia Zhen's beautiful eyes were filled with a gentle smile. "We just had lunch together at noon."
He sighed softly, "Yes, it's been six hours, ten minutes, and thirty-five seconds since I last saw you."
Xia Zhen said he couldn't always come to her for meals. He needed to spend some time with his roommates or classmates, eating, drinking, and having fun. She said that this kind of college life was normal. If his three roommates thought he was unsociable, he might be ostracized in the future.
Lu Jin didn't care whether he was ostracized or not, but she did care; she worried that he wasn't having a good time in college.
They sat down on the grass.
Xia Zhen sat in the front and Lu Jin sat in the back, so that it would be convenient for her to get close to him and for him to braid her hair.
She was in a hurry when she left, and her hair was still a little wet. Now that her hair was dry, Lu Jin took out a hair tie from his pocket and gently combed her soft hair with his slender fingers. The strands of hair that his fingertips brushed against softened his heart.
Xia Zhen was rambling on and on about what happened during military training, down to the smallest detail, as if she was interested in telling him everything.
Even though Lu Jin couldn't participate in military training like the others, after hearing so much about it, it felt as if he was by her side, accompanying her as she basked in the scorching sun, accompanying her as she secretly complained about how strict the instructors were, and accompanying her as she quietly watched others make fools of themselves.
For no reason at all, his heart was beating faster and stronger with each beat, and the hand that touched her hair seemed to feel an indescribable tingling sensation.
He called her name softly, "Zhenzhen".
Xia Zhen turned to look at him. "What's wrong?"
Lu Jin held her hair in one hand, his eyes lowered, and asked softly, "I'm not a burden to you, am I?"
Xia Zhen's eyes widened. "Of course not! What are you thinking? Why are you suddenly asking this? Are you going to get stuck on this again?"
Seeing her so alarmed, Lu Jin smiled and said, "I was just thinking, if the person you like is a normal person, then you don't need to worry about him every day and spend so much time on him."
He always knew very well how much significance Xia Zhen's seemingly insignificant little things held for him.
Xia Zhen said with a straight face, "Lu Jin, I must first praise you. At least you told me your thoughts frankly."
Lu Jin: "But?"
Xia Zhen said seriously, "But I won't allow you to have any self-deprecating thoughts."
She stared at him and asked, "What do you mean by 'if the person I like is a normal person, aren't you a normal person too'?"
Lu Jin's voice was low and hoarse, "Zhenzhen, you know me..."
Before he could say a word, the girl had already tackled him to the ground.
Her long, black hair cascaded down like a waterfall, blurring the light and shadow of the moon and the night.
Xia Zhen sat on his lower abdomen, leaning over to look at him up close. A strand of hair slipped down her shoulder and brushed against his cheek, tickling him slightly.
“A pair of eyes, a nose, a mouth, a neck, an Adam’s apple…” As she spoke, her fingers slid down to where they were, her fingers slipping slightly inside his collar. “Here is his collarbone.”
Her fingers seemed to possess a magical power; they were sparks of fire, starlight, and moonlight.
Lu Jin's Adam's apple bobbed, his mouth dry.
"Here's your chest, and your abs!" Xia Zhen said proudly. "You have everything a normal person has, and you even have abs that many people don't. So, you're much stronger than most people! And here..."
Her hand was still sliding down.
Lu Jin let out a muffled groan, grabbed her wrist, and whispered, "Zhenzhen!"
But he only grasped it; he didn't use any force.
Xia Zhen tilted her head, innocently saying, "Lu Jin, you have the same desires as men, so why aren't you considered a normal person?"
Lu Jin: "..."
"Tell me..." She was clearly like a pure angel, but as she leaned down and stared intently at his impatient face, her light tone sounded like that of a demon interrogating him, "Are you even a normal person?"
Lu Jin remained silent.
Xia Zhen: "Are you going to tell me or not?"
She increased the pressure on her fingertips.
A broken sound escaped Lu Jin's throat, and an unusual daze appeared in the corners of his eyes. His voice, trembling with defeat, was terribly hoarse, "Yes..."
Xia Zhen was satisfied. Her eyes darted around, and she whispered in his ear, "How about I help you?"
He wanted to say no.
But the girl was in high spirits and certainly wouldn't let him off easily.
The white-haired boy raised one hand, his arm covering his face and obscuring his eyes, which revealed too much emotion. All that could be seen was his Adam's apple bobbing restlessly, his fair jaw taut, and his pale lips slightly parted. "Okay."
Xia Zhen was overjoyed; she absolutely adored his submissive demeanor!
The atmosphere on one side of the grove was lively, while the other side was deserted.
Song Zhu realized she was lost. Looking into the dark woods, she clutched her phone tightly.
A boy's voice rang out, "Hello."
Suddenly hearing a sound behind her, Song Zhu turned around in a panic.
Mu Zhijing smiled and said, "I've seen you wandering around here for a long time. Do you need any help?"
He thought he had acted very approachable, but Song Zhu screamed as if she had seen a monster.
Someone heard the shouts and ran over, "What happened!"
Song Zhu quickly hid behind the tall man, shouting, "Demon! A demon priest from the Blood Cavern is eyeing my beauty!!!"
He Shi: "?"
Mu Zhijing: "?"
Who is the monster?
Who is the Demon Priest?
