Chapter 65 Bow

Chapter 65 Bow

A breeze slipped in through the window, enticing the curtains to flutter, occasionally causing changes in the light in the quiet classroom.

Lu Jin lowered his eyes and turned another page of the book in his hand.

It's hard to say whether the classroom was originally quiet, or whether his quietness affected the space.

It was as if making even the slightest sound that disturbed his peace was a sin.

His fingers stopped as he was about to turn the page.

The boy slightly raised the corners of his lips, "Zhenzhen."

Xia Zhen paused, she had wanted to sneak up on him and startle him, but he noticed her. Standing beside her, she said with dissatisfaction, "You didn't even look up, how did you know I was here?"

He put down the book in his hand, looked up at her displeased little face, but there was a hint of pleasure in his voice, "I'm very sensitive to sounds."

His upbringing dictated that he couldn't be insensitive to many things, such as his mother coming home late, his father not having a hot meal ready when he got home from get off work, and his younger brother who suffered setbacks in some area.

Often, the little commotion they caused together, when all of it converged on him, became a raging storm.

Xia Zhen hadn't intended to remind him of those unpleasant memories. She was about to apologize when she heard him say in a gentle voice, "I'm more sensitive to your scent."

Xia Zhen is a seasoned talker who's always spouting nonsense, but at this moment, her heart was pounding, and she couldn't help but smile, her expression more joyful than smug.

Lu Jin asked her, "Happy?"

Xia Zhen nodded, "I'm happy."

He took her hand and helped her sit down in the chair. Then, he moved closer to her, his eyes smiling, as if he were sharing a little secret with her. He whispered, "I'm happy too."

It seems like a meaningless conversation, but because the person speaking is special, everything takes on great significance.

Xia Zhen's dark eyes shone brightly as she stared at him without blinking, her upturned lips revealing undisguised joy.

Lu Jin reached out and gently hooked the end of a strand of her black hair in her ponytail with his fingers. "Is running in PE class tiring?"

"It's alright, I only ran 800 meters today, which is a piece of cake for me!"

"The braid has come loose."

Xia Zhen casually touched the back of her head and smiled, "It's okay, I'll just tie it up again."

She untied the headband and placed it on the table, but quickly retied her hair. Just as she was about to pick up the headband and re-tie it back into her ponytail, someone else picked it up before she could.

The red hairband on his hand only made his fair, jade-like fingers stand out even more; the contrast between the two colors inexplicably evoked the word "romance."

He said, "I'll do it."

Xia Zhen nodded and smiled, "Okay."

She turned to the side, with her back to him, to make it easier for him to move.

Lu Jin stroked her long, soft, black hair with one hand, his movements were very careful and meticulous, he would not allow himself to accidentally pull any strand of her hair.

If he were to do something seriously, it would be perfect.

His fingers moved with ease among the red ribbons, finally pulling the ribbons on both sides to the same length, and a bow with symmetrical "wings" was tied.

Lu Jin said, "Zhenzhen, it's done."

Xia Zhen turned around and gave him her brightest, most sunny smile. "Does it look good?"

The black hair and red hairband complemented each other, and because they were imbued with the girl's youthful vitality, they became exceptionally eye-catching.

"nice."

His gaze was gentle, and her reflection was mirrored in his light-colored eyes. Through his eyes, she could see herself.

Xia Zhen believed him with satisfaction and went on and on about what happened in PE class. When she mentioned Gao Ling, he asked, "You thanked the class monitor. Did she say anything?"

"Yes, she told me that she saw you go out at noon, before I had even returned to the classroom."

Lu Jin stared at her intently. "Really?"

She nodded, then said smugly, "I told her that you must have missed me, which is why you came to see me."

In that instant, he had prepared countless drafts to deal with this situation, but suddenly he couldn't utter a single word.

Xia Zhen leaned closer to him, raised her face, her eyes upturned, and said proudly, "You came to see me because you missed me. It's not illegal, and there's nothing to hide. Our class monitor is a good person. When she saw how good our relationship is, she even gave us her blessings."

Xia Zhen tilted her head. "So, Lu Jin, don't put so much pressure on yourself."

After a long while, Lu Jin said in a hoarse voice, "Okay."

Xia Zhen smiled and reached out to poke his face, but he held her hand tightly.

She laughed again, "Didn't you say you'd tutor me? Last night I was doing my homework, and there was one problem I just couldn't figure out. Could you teach me?"

He asked, "What question?"

“This.” Xia Zhen took out the workbook she had bought, turned to the creased page, and pointed to a math problem on the page.

The entire page was covered with marks of her work; she wrote every equation very clearly.

She never used to be this focused when doing her homework.

Lu Jin could clearly sense how serious and thoughtful the girl was about accompanying him on this journey.

Lu Jin's eyes inexplicably felt hot and sore.

She tugged at his sleeve. "Teach me quickly!"

He closed his eyes, then picked up his pen. With each step he wrote, he explained it softly to the girl leaning against him. He was never a talkative person, but when it came to things related to her, he always broke his own rules.

However, he didn't tell her too many questions at once; she needed time to digest them, and she also needed to rest because she had gone to bed too late last night.

A gentle breeze was blowing, and even the sunlight streaming in through the window was just right.

She fell asleep with her hands behind her head, her beautiful sleeping face naturally facing the direction where he was.

Lu Jin bent down and placed a light kiss on the girl's delicate nose. Then he leaned on the table, his starry eyes gazing intently at her.

He had a dream last night in which he returned to his most embarrassing childhood, and a girl in a green floral dress hugged him.

The unrealistic dream intersected with reality, constantly blurring the boundaries between the two. Illusion and reality no longer mattered, because he had become the happiest person in the world.

The boy's long, handsome hand quietly moved closer, and when he hooked his little finger around the girl's, a satisfied smile appeared in his eyes.

In the corridor.

The math class representative pleaded pitifully, "I just want a drink of water, please, please let me in."

Behind the math class representative were several other poor-looking boys.

The class representative for Chinese language stood in front of them like an impregnable fortress, and said fiercely, "Why do you drink so much water every day? Aren't you afraid of getting water in your brain?!"

The atmosphere inside is so nice, wouldn't it be ruined if these piglets went in!

In front of this food connoisseur, all talk of classmates is meaningless!
