Chapter 69 The Terrifying Him

Chapter 69 The Terrifying Him

At Shengyi Middle School, once school is over, most of the students have already left. However, everyone who passes by the school gate can't help but take a few more glances at the boy standing there.

He was handsome and had a wild and arrogant demeanor. Even though girls knew that this boy was not to be trifled with and might even be a little dangerous, they still couldn't help but feel their hearts flutter when they looked at him.

There are fewer and fewer people.

Song Heng looked at a girl passing by and said, "Hey."

Yue Xiaoyue stopped and asked nervously, "Were you calling me?"

Song Heng asked coldly, "Where is Tang Susu?"

In class, Tang Susu didn't get along with the other girls, except for Yue Xiaoyue, with whom she had a better relationship. She heard that they had even joined a club.

Yue Xiaoyue had never dealt with the school bully before, and she really didn't understand how Xia Zhen could laugh so freely when facing this person. She said tremblingly, "Tang Susu didn't participate in the club activities today. She left a long time ago."

Song Heng asked, "Did she go home?"

"I don't think so. I heard her say that she seemed to be going to talk to Xia Zhen about something."

Song Heng frowned slightly.

Yue Xiaoyue shook her body. "If there's nothing else, I'll be going now. My mom is waiting for me to come home for soup."

As soon as she finished speaking, she disappeared without a trace.

Song Heng turned and left without saying a word.

Meanwhile, when Xia Zhen returned home and saw the girl sitting on the sofa in the living room, she raised an eyebrow in surprise, "What are you doing at my house?"

Tang Susu stood up and said somewhat awkwardly, "I heard from Grandpa that you live in the house near the new school and only come home on Fridays, so I came to find you at this time."

Xia Zhen casually put down her schoolbag and took out the only piece of chocolate from her pocket. The reason she said "only" was because Lu Jin had presented various data and told her that she could only eat one piece of chocolate a day and not more.

Xia Zhen wouldn't be so obedient, but the white-haired boy would look at her with eyes clearer than the sky and say, "Zhenzhen, I want to live a long and happy life with you."

What kind of chocolate?

Those are all unimportant and fleeting!

Xia Zhen was captivated by his good looks and immediately handed over all the extra chocolates to him for safekeeping, eating only one chocolate a day.

Taking a bite of the sweet chocolate, Xia Zhen asked casually, "What do you want from me?"

After hesitating for a moment, Tang Susu mustered her courage and said, "I want to explain to you that there's really nothing between Song Heng and me. I don't know why people are spreading rumors about my relationship with Song Heng. In fact, we are innocent!"

Xia Zhen nodded, "Mm."

"You...believe me?"

I believe you.

Tang Susu laughed happily, "Then you can transfer back to Shengyi!"

"No."

Tang Susu was stunned for a moment, "Are you still angry with Song Heng?"

Xia Zhen asked, "Why should I be angry with him?"

"Because he asked me to dance that day, don't you like him?"

Xia Zhen found it amusing. "When I was young and naive, I did have a crush on him. But now I'm older and more sensible, and I know I should pursue someone better. You can't just push him onto me because he's annoyed with you, can you?"

Xia Zhen's words exposed her true thoughts, leaving Tang Susu suddenly speechless with embarrassment. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the boy standing outside the door, and she was startled.

Xia Zhen noticed the change in Tang Susu's expression. She turned around and saw the person who had appeared there at some point. She asked unhappily, "How did you get in?"

Song Heng simply uttered two words, "Climb over the wall."

After realizing that no one would open the door for him, Song Heng guessed that Xia Zhen must have said in advance that he was not allowed to enter the Xia family.

Xia Zhen looked at the boy approaching step by step and said, "This is trespassing. I can call the police."

Song Heng suddenly felt a little dazed.

That memory he had buried deep seemed to be resurfacing.

He was once a young lad who, in order to see the girl he liked, endured the pressure from her father, who appeared indifferent to his daughter but was actually a doting father, and would sneak over the wall in the middle of the night just to see her.

She was clearly overjoyed, but she pretended to be reserved, saying, "You're trespassing. I can call the police."

He approached the girl in the green floral dress step by step, bathed in moonlight. "You should call the police."

Then he reached out, and the bouquet of baby's breath hidden behind his back was brought to her eyes.

The girl excitedly threw herself into his arms.

Naturally, the matter of calling the police no longer exists.

Time has passed, and now we are here.

Before his mind could process it, Song Heng blurted out instinctively, "Call the police."

Xia Zhen looked at him as if he had lost his mind, while decisively pulling out her phone. "Hello, is this 110?"

"Wait, wait!" Tang Susu hurriedly tried to stop her.

Song Heng stood still, perhaps because he also felt that he was out of his mind.

On the other side of the city, the atmosphere at the Lu family home was eerily calm.

The dishes on the table were all light and bland; greasy and spicy foods seemed to have lost their place on the table.

Hao Hui ate a few bites casually, told the cook she would wash the dishes when she returned, and went to the door to change her shoes.

Lu Jin took a leisurely sip of soup. "Is Mom going to work the night shift again?"

Hao Hui paused for a moment. "Yes, I've been busy lately, and I've been assigned several more night shifts."

This was the first time in a long time that he had asked her about going out.

Lu Jin put down his chopsticks, bent down, stroked the little white cat sleeping on the floor next to him, and said slowly without raising his head, "When is Mom planning to take me to see my little brother who has woken up?"

Hao Hui's expression suddenly shifted dramatically, from surprise to fear, then to unease, and finally to tension. "What are you saying? Xiao Ci is still unconscious and hasn't woken up yet."

“If he didn’t wake up, then why did I call my mother’s workplace several times at night to ask, and they said that my mother had gone to the hospital to take care of my younger brother?”

Hao Hui gripped her hand tightly.

"Don't be nervous, Mom." He raised his eyes, the light reflecting off his pale eyes, creating a beautiful yet enigmatic look. "I'm just concerned about you and your brother. Mom has to work during the day, and there are caregivers at the hospital, but Mom still has to go to the hospital every night. If it wasn't your brother who woke up, what else could it be?"

He said gently, "It's a good thing that my brother is awake. Why did you hide it from me, Mom?"

He now calls her "Mom" and "Brother" all the time, much more frequently than he used to, as if their family relationship were extremely harmonious.

But they all knew perfectly well that it was all an illusion.

Hao Hui dared not admit that she would become tense and feel like she had thorns in her back if she didn't hear him call her "Mom". She forced a smile and said, "The doctor said that Xiao Ci's condition is not very good, so... so I didn't say anything."

"So he really did wake up."

Hao Hui looked at him in surprise.

Lu Jin chuckled lightly, "Mom doesn't actually believe me calling your workplace to ask where you went, does she?"

Hao Hui's lips twitched, but she couldn't utter a single word.

"But as the older brother, now that I know my younger brother has woken up, I still have to go and see him."

She immediately said, "No need!"

Lu Jin sat up straight, her voice low and somber, “Or is it that Mom is worried about leaving someone like me, who can’t even stand up, alone at home? If something happens to me, I don’t think there’s anything I should blame Mom for, but other people might have their own opinions, like Mom deliberately causing me to get into trouble in order to get rid of me, this burden.”

Hao Hui subconsciously raised her voice, "I can't!"

"Of course I know he wouldn't." Lu Jin's lips curled up slightly, and he said with complete trust, "My mother is so good to me, how could she possibly harm me?"

Hao Hui involuntarily took a step back, her hands still trembling uncontrollably.

This child is absolutely terrifying.
