After finishing his meal, Third Master Wen asked Mo Qianshang if he wanted to consider it for a few more days.
Mo Qianshang did not give him that chance.
"Third Master Wen, we haven't even started discussing jade business yet. We're just asking if we can lend this person out. If it's hard to decide, I can consider hiring someone else."
Mo Qianshang is putting pressure on him. She doesn't know much about this industry, and if she gives Master Wen too many opportunities, who knows what he might do in the meantime.
If she can't even decide on such a small matter immediately, she'll have to consider whether this person is too calculating. She has no interest in working for someone like that.
Master Wen also realized that he really shouldn't try to gain any advantage. He was a businessman, and if the other party was really inexperienced, he would naturally try to benefit his own family. However, although this Lady Mo had never been involved in their jade industry, she was a rare shrewd person.
Just as she had reminded herself, he could certainly still do something, but if Mo Niangzi found out on her own, and she cared a lot about this, then their relationship might not be so good afterward.
Master Wen didn't speak, but instead reached out and picked up a teacup, placing it in front of Mo Qianshang.
Mo Qianshang raised an eyebrow and saw him pick up the teapot, pour himself a cup of tea, and make a "please" gesture.
Mo Qianshang's expression immediately improved. She picked up her teacup to acknowledge him, and Third Master Wen picked up his wine cup and gently clinked it against hers.
That concludes the matter.
Master Wen meant that it would take at least half a month to twenty days for people from their hometown to come. Mo Qianshang was in a good mood and took out some candy and beef jerky she had exchanged to give to Master Wen.
"It's not anything from before, Third Master, just eat it for fun."
Master Wen had never seen this beef jerky before, but when he saw the candy, he raised an eyebrow: "Fruit candy?"
Mo Qianshang was surprised: "Third Master actually knew?"
Uncle Wen peeled one open and put it in his mouth: "Yes, my friend here brought me some when he delivered a letter. He said it was sold at a pastry shop in a neighboring county."
Mo Qianshang smiled and said, "That's quite a coincidence. I'm the one who made this candy."
The Third Master was truly astonished. He had only heard Mo Qianshang mention that she had some snacks to sell, but he never expected that she was the one who made these candies. These candies were not like ordinary snacks, and he had never seen Mo Qianshang's candies before. He had been thinking of buying more before going back to his hometown next time so that his family could try them.
Now even Master Wen was interested in the beef jerky and tried two pieces on the spot, which surprised him even more.
He had traveled all over the country for several years and had seen a lot of the world since he was a child with the men in his family, but he had never tasted these two things before.
Master Wen also owned some other shops, so it was inevitable that he would have designs on them.
Mo Qianshang said she wasn't in a hurry: "I have some good stuff, but I don't know where to sell it. I've only bought some at low prices so far. If you want some, Third Master Wen, why don't you ask me what the prices are for these things in the capital? I'm thinking of making a fortune."
Master Wen could see that although this Lady Mo lived in the county town, she was very proud and wouldn't listen to ordinary business deals.
"Alright, if Madam Mo has anything else, you can bring it to me so I can take a look."
Mo Qianshang was even more composed than him: "There's no rush. My family is busy with farming, and I have plenty of things to do. I'm afraid I'll have to ask Third Master to come and take a look at my place later."
After discussing these matters, the two agreed to arrange for Master Wen to bring his men to the neighboring county in twenty days, and then parted ways.
As he left the restaurant, Master Wen belatedly realized that he had been much more tired than usual from talking with this Lady Mo. Lady Mo was just a woman from a small county town, but her words were so watertight that he couldn't find any loopholes.
He'd met people who made conversations stressful before, but most of them were high-ranking officials and dignitaries, so they weren't actually that difficult to deal with.
Despite the fact that this Lady Mo was no match for the Wen family in terms of wealth or anything else, he was forced to do as she said.
Master Wen stopped on the street, couldn't help but laugh out loud, shook his head and went home.
After resolving the matter, Mo Qianshang left Yong'an and went home. She felt uncomfortable doing anything at the inn, and could only wash herself with a basin. She couldn't wait to go back and take a hot bath.
She got home before evening, took a shower, and then ate dinner. After dinner, she felt sleepy and couldn't resist going to bed early.
The next morning, she went to Dongshan Village early to check on how her land was being cultivated and to hear Aunt Shen's report.
By now, she has gained some understanding of the people of Dongshan Village. To be honest, since the area around her was full of people from Fushou Village, she didn't have a very good impression of the ordinary people here.
After all, in her mind, people can be poor or ignorant, but that's just a part of the population.
There were hardly any good people in the entire village of Fushou, which made her very reluctant to interact with anyone.
Unexpectedly, Fushou Village seems to be quite unique. The people in Dongshan Village are much more normal in comparison. They are all very honest. Although they are far from being clever or quick-witted, they are basically law-abiding citizens.
Mo Qianshang's land is growing well. It's been watered daily and has grown quite a bit, especially potatoes, which sprout quickly. It won't be long before we can harvest a crop.
After another twenty days of peace, Mo Qianshang went to the county town to meet with Wen Sanye's men.
Upon seeing Mo Qianshang, Third Master Wen smiled and said, "Lady Mo, I've brought this person to you."
Master Wen brought quite a few people. They didn't enter the city; instead, they waited outside. Mo Qianchang counted them and found there were actually fifty people.
"These people might not be enough, but we don't know the situation on the mountain yet, so we need to scout it out first. But with so many of us, do we have a place to stay?"
Mo Qianshang nodded: "Don't worry, I'll make the arrangements. There's a village a quarter of an hour's walk from where I live. I bought two donkey carts, and there's an oxcart in Dongshan Village, which can pick up and drop off our people."
"I will also prepare the food."
Mo Qianshang and Master Wen were about to sign a contract when they entered the city and headed towards the government office. Master Wen brought up another matter: "There's also the matter of opening the jade. Although we brought a lot of things with us, some of them can only be prepared by you."
Mo Qianshang said no problem. If needed, she could even set up another workshop on the mountain. After all, mining jade is not something that can be done in a day, and it is impossible for everyone to work in the wilderness forever.
It's just that Master Wen left in a hurry before, and they didn't have time to discuss these matters in Yong'an. Now that he has arrived, there is plenty of time to discuss the details.
"By the way, Third Master, where do you live? I have a spare room at my house. If you're going to stay a while longer, you can stay with me."
