Chapter 51 When Our Kids

Noticing that something was wrong with him, Mo Qianshang sighed inwardly. She had indeed neglected the little ones at home too much lately. She couldn't let Bai Yi go out and explore recklessly just because he was around.

Ultimately, she was their mother, not the one in white.

Mo Qianshang walked to Qin Heming's side with a guilty expression and squatted down, putting her hand on his shoulder. Before she could say anything, she heard him apologize dejectedly.

"Mother, I'm sorry. It's my fault as the eldest brother. I'm so useless. This is why you can't even work with peace of mind when you're away from home."

Even though it was her fault, she heard the child apologize to her first. Mo Qianshang was instantly overwhelmed with bitterness and felt quite uncomfortable. She couldn't help but pull the overly sensible Qin Heming into her arms, her voice tinged with a faint nasal tone for the first time.

"Silly child, it's all my fault. Why are you blaming yourself? Don't worry, I'll put more effort into you all from now on. Don't overthink things." She said, gently patting the child's back, trying to calm him down.

Unexpectedly, Qin Heming had already made up his mind before she returned. Instead of being comforted, he became even more determined.

"Mother, my younger brother, sister and I know that our talents are not as good as our third brother's, so we don't want to trouble Uncle in white. When you have time, could you teach us a few martial arts skills? We just ask that we don't hold you back."

Looking into the little guy's pleading yet slightly cautious eyes, Mo Qianshang simply couldn't bring herself to refuse.

Even knowing it was a good thing, her heart still ached uncontrollably, and intense regret outweighed the relief she should have felt at that moment.

She increasingly realized that she was not a good mother, having actually forced her little ones to volunteer to learn martial arts to protect her...

After not receiving a reply from Mo Qianshang for a long time, Qin Heming assumed she was worried and quickly added, "Mother, don't worry. I asked my second brother and younger sister, and they both agree. We are just waiting for your approval."

Unable to bear refusing, Mo Qianshang confirmed with the other two siblings and finally agreed to their request.

Having settled this matter, Qin Heming began to eat the red wild fruit in his hand with gusto, looking extremely satisfied, which dispelled the gloom in Mo Qianshang's heart.

Unfortunately, some people couldn't stand seeing their family doing well, and they rushed over aggressively to berate them.

"You heartless bastards! My sister hasn't even been found yet, but you're all enjoying yourselves. You have no humanity!"

The shrill voice hurt Mo Qianshang's ears, and the smiles on the children's faces vanished instantly. They stared at Liu Xiaolan warily, fearing that she might do something inappropriate to Mo Qianshang.

But Liu Xiaolan had just suffered a setback at Mo Qianshang's hands last time, so she didn't dare to make a move against her. She glared at her hatefully, then turned her gaze to Qin Zixuan in annoyance, her eyes bulging as if she wanted to devour him.

"My family is reasonable. Since you, you little rascal, tricked my sister into disappearing, then from now on you will be our family's child and serve my parents like a slave!"

These words shocked not only Mo Qianshang's family, but also those around who wanted to watch the excitement but were hesitant because of Mo Qianshang's kindness!

Normally, if a family were to have an extra son, they would be overjoyed. Putting aside the question of filial piety, the mere fact that they would have an extra laborer would be a great blessing.

But they are currently on the road fleeing famine, and the people in their own families are not even enough to eat. If another half-grown boy were to be born, they would really starve to death!

Qin Zixuan, in particular, doesn't seem like someone who can be easily tamed. I really don't know what Liu Xiaolan's family was thinking.

They weren't the only ones puzzled; even Mo Qianshang hadn't expected Liu Xiaolan to come like this, and didn't give a reply for a moment.

Seeing Mo Qianshang's reaction, Qin Baiyi, who was not far away, narrowed his eyes slightly, revealing a hint of danger, which caused Liu Xiaolan to sneeze for no reason.

"Since none of you are saying anything, I'll take that as a yes! You little rascal, get up now, and don't even think that I'll carry you back!"

As she spoke, Liu Xiaolan reached out and grabbed Qin Zixuan, startling him so much that he took several steps back, but he refused to back down verbally.

"You bad woman! I'm not going with you, so just forget about it!"

The word "bad woman" made Liu Xiaolan jump up and down again. She grabbed a dry wooden stick next to her and was about to hit Qin Zixuan, cursing more and more.

"You're already supposed to come and serve me at my house, yet you still dare to be so unrestrained! Well then, I'll teach you some manners before you even enter the house, so you'll know my temper!"

Just as the thumb-thick wooden stick was about to strike Qin Zixuan's back, Liu Xiaolan's arm was suddenly grabbed, followed by her pig-like scream.

"Ah! It hurts, it hurts! Mo Qianshang, you bitch, let me go! Ah..."

"Who gave you permission to touch my child?" Mo Qianshang raised an eyebrow with cold eyes, her voice as icy as if it came from an ice cave, and the force in her hand was gradually increasing.

Liu Xiaolan wanted to continue scolding, but the pain in her hand was unbearable. She felt that if Mo Qianshang continued, her wrist would probably break, so she quickly changed her tune and admitted her mistake.

"Mo Qianshang, I...I was wrong, please let go! It hurts! It hurts so much!"

She hadn't intended to make a big deal out of it, but seeing that she had frightened people, Mo Qianshang tossed Liu Xiaolan's hand aside like trash, her eyes full of disgust.

“If you don’t have the ability, you’d better not come and cause trouble in front of me, otherwise…” Mo Qianshang didn’t finish her threat, but her sharp gaze inadvertently swept over Liu Xiaolan’s hand.

The meaning is clear: if you dare to come again, you'll lose your hand.

Despite her fear, Liu Xiaolan always felt that she was in the right. Who was that little rascal who lost her sister?

So after she distanced herself from Mo Qianshang, she started shouting again, seemingly unafraid of death.

"Mo Qianshang, it's fine if you're protective of your own, but whose child isn't precious? Our family can do without that little brat, but my sister hasn't returned yet, and you have to give our family an explanation!"

Seeing that Mo Qianshang remained unmoved, Liu Xiaolan simply pouted, her eyes reddening as she began to sob, "Waaah... my little sister is still so young, how could that little bastard be so heartless..."

It must be said that Liu Xiaolan was indeed quite beautiful to be named the village beauty. Now, as she cries delicately, she does have the look of a pear blossom in the rain, which is very endearing.

Knowing that Liu Xiaolan wouldn't give up so easily, and seeing that some of the surrounding villagers had already begun to speak up for Liu Xiaolan's family in hushed tones.

Mo Qianshang couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips into a sneer, "Liu Xiaolan, you keep blaming my third son for causing this, but you can't produce a single piece of evidence. What kind of logic is that?"

"Does my youngest child deserve to be slandered by you just because he's young? Or do you think everyone is stupid and that you can make a few false accusations against him and then label him a menace?"

These words left Liu Xiaolan speechless. She really couldn't produce any evidence at the moment, so she could only stubbornly make up a story.
