Chapter 184 Ancestor Shu Chi

Shushu hadn't expected that there would be treasure-hunting rats on this ancient battlefield. Looking at the ghost rat in front of her, she opened her mouth wide, staring blankly at it without blinking, somewhat unable to come to her senses.

The illusory figure, however, was much more proactive. Its nose twitched as it sniffed the blood that the glutinous rice had just spat out, confirming once again that the other party was the treasure-hunting rat.

It looked at the little potato with bright, shining eyes and asked, "Little one, whose descendant are you? What are you doing here?"

As it spoke, it kept looking at the sorghum up and down, as if trying to see who the sorghum looked like.

Unfortunately, the potato had too many shields, layer upon layer, and it stared at them for a long time without figuring them out.

Even the bloodline perception seemed to be blocked by something; it could only vaguely sense a little bit, indistinctly.

There was nothing it could do but look into the sweet potato's eyes again, waiting for her answer and explanation.

As for Lu Li and the others, they were completely ignored by it, not even given a second glance.

And the millet, meeting this curious yet loving gaze, felt the pull of blood.

After thinking for a moment, she finally emerged from Lu Li's clothes, flew into the air, and slowly removed the layers of shields from her body.

As her shield gradually dissipated, her true form was revealed.

To be honest, just looking at their appearances, Shushu and the giant treasure-hunting rat in front of him are quite similar. At this moment, Shushu even has the feeling of seeing himself grown up.

Clearly, she wasn't the only one with this feeling, after Shushu shed her layers of disguise.

The eyes of the treasure-hunting rat opposite it widened and widened, and finally it moved directly in front of the potato and said excitedly.

“My child, you…you are actually a descendant of my family! No, no, my child, didn’t you just hatch not long ago? How come you left the clan’s territory and are with outsiders? Where are your parents? Why aren’t they by your side?”

As they were talking, the Piaoshu noticed that Shushu was not being protected by any adults and was not in the tribe's territory. He frowned instantly and then showed an attitude of wanting to support Shushu.

"Kid, tell your ancestor who your parents are. How can they be so unreliable? When your ancestor gets back, I'll teach them a lesson for you. This isn't how you raise a kid!"

Seeing that this ancestor rat was so angry that its spirit was even surrounded by condensed air currents, to prevent it from misunderstanding its own rat parents, Shushu could only quickly explain, "Ancestor, it's not like that, things..."

Unexpectedly, after hearing everything, the other party's aura became even more violent, and the original shockwave turned into a tornado, ravaging the surrounding area and making it even more desolate.

Fortunately, it still had some sense and knew to create a protective shield for Shushu and Luli before it got angry.

Shushu and Luli watched as everything around them flew into the sky, including the vengeful spirits that had been chasing them for a long time and were hiding behind the hillside.

The fierce tornado only subsided when there were no other living beings nearby besides them, and the treasure-hunting rat calmed down.

Then it looked at the glutinous rice with a kind expression and began to introduce itself: "My little one, my name is Glutinous Rice Chi, and I should be your direct ancestor. From now on, you can call me Ancestor."

In response, Shushu immediately bowed respectfully to the other party, saying, "Greetings, Ancestor."

Just three words instantly made Shu Chi beam with joy, repeatedly replying "Okay, okay," while also wanting to get a gift for her little one.

Unfortunately, it is now just a ghost, commonly known as a spirit, and has been dead for countless years. It has nothing left to offer as a gift, so it has been completely empty.

Looking at its empty paws, and then glancing back at its own offspring's bright yet puzzled eyes, clearly not understanding what it was doing, Shu Chi felt a little embarrassed.

Just as it was about to casually change the subject to ease the awkward atmosphere, it suddenly caught a glimpse of the chaotic battlefield it had created, and an idea popped into its head.

“My son, what are you looking for in this ancient battlefield? Tell your ancestor. I’ve been in this ancient battlefield for so many years. I’m not familiar with everything, but I know at least most of it. Tell me what you want, and I’ll get it for you as a gift.”

Upon hearing it mention the gift, Shushu's previous doubts were instantly resolved. In order not to embarrass its ancestor, Shushu pretended not to notice its ancestor's awkwardness.

After glancing at Lu Li and receiving his nod, Shushu directly stated the purpose of their visit.

"Ancestor, we have come to find the soul fragments of the previous Heavenly Dao, as well as the core of the realm."

"The boundary center?"

"Yes."

"Fragments of the Heavenly Dao's soul?"

"Yes."

"Is it absolutely necessary to find one?"

"We absolutely have to find it!"

"Alright, come with me."

Shu Chi probably didn't expect that the two of them would come in looking for these two things, and checked them several times.

After receiving the answer that the glutinous rice had to go, it was a little hesitant, but since it had already made the promise, it had no choice but to bite the bullet and go for it.

At worst, it can just charge ahead as a punching bag for the souls, get beaten up by the spirits protecting those two things, and let its little juniors secretly take the things from behind.

And so, Lu Li and Shushu followed closely behind Shu Chi, heading towards a specific location in the very center of the ancient battlefield, a journey that took them most of the day.

Perhaps because of the presence of the millet chi, they did not encounter any obstacles during this period.

Occasionally, various spirits would come drawn by the scent of living people. But upon discovering that Shu Chi was behind them, they dared not approach. They would only glance at him from afar before reluctantly leaving.

Clearly, the millet-chih tribe held a certain status and wielded considerable power on this ancient battlefield.

They traveled smoothly for another night, until just as dawn was breaking, Shu Chi, who had been leading the way at high speed, suddenly slowed down.

Upon seeing this, Lu Li and Shushu, who were following behind, immediately realized that they were about to arrive at their destination. Both of them became more vigilant and focused intently on what was ahead.

Sure enough, the next moment they heard Shu Chi's voice transmission in their ears, telling them to hide here and wait for the three souls opposite to be lured away before they went in to steal things.

After saying that, it quickly threw two protective shields at Shushu and Luli, and before they could reply or react, it quickly darted away.

After dashing quite a distance, Shu Chi unleashed a powerful attack, arrogantly shouting, "I'm here to blast the mountain again! Sons, come out and fight me!"

That kind of posture was definitely designed to draw aggro. Then, three streaks of light rushed out from the mountains that had been blasted by it. Without saying a word, they started fighting right away.
