Chapter 3 Becoming an Apprentice of Liu Yu

Ten thousand miles away from the rabbit hole, a burst of spiritual light rippled. After a while, as if confirming that there was nothing unusual around, two people covered with rabbits revealed themselves.

Then, the man among the two threw a flying boat into the air. As soon as the flying boat appeared, it grew larger on its own until it was large enough to hold dozens of people, and then it stopped changing.

This is a silver-white flying boat with a shimmering luster and flowing light patterns on its surface. It is clearly a magic weapon or spiritual artifact of a high level, engraved with array formations.

Seeing that the flying boat was stable in mid-air, the firefly rabbits that had been clinging to the two of them didn't need to be told. They released their claws one by one, used their wind spirit power, and hopped onto the flying boat.

Only the woman's arms remained, and the girl, still being held, looked completely bewildered. Ever since the man turned into a human, she had been in a state of shock.

Then came the array plates and the flying boats, and Shushu was still staring wide-eyed.

The woman was clearly aware of her complicated feelings at that moment, so she didn't say anything, picked her up and jumped onto the flying boat, with the man beside her following closely behind.

Once everyone was on board the flying boat, the man activated the defensive array. Without any human command or control, the flying boat seemed to know its direction and sped off into the distance.

The man glanced at them, then raised his hand and made a hand seal, adding several defensive shields and anti-eavesdropping barriers before leading the group into the hall.

Upon arriving in the hall, the firefly rabbits each found a spot to squat down, then took out spirit fruits and began to nibble on them. The fluffy bunch made Shushu's heart itch with desire; he almost wanted to pet them.

"Little guy, what's your name? How did you end up running into people from the Heavenly Flame Sect? And being chased by that little girl surnamed Wen?"

After all the rabbits were seated, the man looked at the sweet potato that was still being held in the woman's arms.

His words piqued everyone's curiosity, and all the rabbits looked at the yam.

"My name is Shushu." Shushu felt a little uncomfortable under everyone's gaze. In his haste, he ignored the last two questions and only subconsciously answered his name.

After saying that, Shushu panicked a little. Would the other party find out that he wasn't the original person?

"Shushu, that's a good name. How did your treasure-hunting rat clan end up in this small world? Did something happen in the upper realm that left you, a little brat, stranded outside?"

However, Shushu's worries were unnecessary. The man did not discover Shushu's secret; he was simply curious: how could Shushu, a treasure-hunting mouse cub, be all alone outside?

"I don't know, I've always been here alone."

Seeing that the other party hadn't noticed anything amiss with his soul, Shushu secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Even if they asked about his identity as the Treasure-Seeking Rat, he wasn't so afraid anymore.

Moreover, judging from the other party's familiar tone, they clearly knew their own clan.

Furthermore, after meeting them, they had been protecting her; she had also witnessed them transform from firefly rabbits into humans. As fellow spirit beasts, she was even less worried.

"Just you?" The man was clearly taken aback by the potato's answer and was somewhat surprised, but soon he seemed to understand and regained his composure.

He said that the little brat's disguise was so weak, it turned out that he had no parents or elders to teach him.

However, the little guy was quite lucky. It managed to hatch safely under such circumstances and even met me. If it had met someone else, its situation would have been much worse.

I have no idea how it ended up here. You know, the treasure-hunting rat clan rarely has offspring, and they cherish every single one of their cubs. It's a shame that even a cub has ended up here. It seems that the old treasure-hunting rats aren't very reliable after all.

Since he was able to find the little guy, it meant that they were destined to be together. His sect was originally built for spirit beasts, and he felt a connection with the little guy. Why not take her as his disciple and protect her in the future?

Thinking this, Liu Yu asked, "My name is Liu Yu, and I am the sect leader of the Liuyue Sect. Little one, would you like to become my disciple?"

Little did he know that his words would stir up a huge wave in Shushu's heart. And then he remembered that he had just mentioned the Tianyan Sect and the surname Wen, right?

Tianyan Sect, Sect Master Wen, Liuyue Sect, Liu Yu, Shushu—aren't they characters from the novel she recently read?

"Then, are you Venerable Liuying?"

For a moment, Shushu panicked and asked the beautiful woman who was holding him, wanting to verify whether he had really transmigrated into the book.

"Yes." The woman who was asked was a little surprised, wondering how the little one knew her name, but she still nodded in agreement.

Her suspicions were confirmed, and Shushu was surprised for a moment. Almost instantly, she made her decision.

Then she jumped out of the woman's embrace and came to Liu Yu. She first stood up, and then respectfully bowed down, saying, "Shushu greets Master."

"Get up." Liu Yu watched as the little guy accepted the apprenticeship almost without thinking, and a genuine smile appeared on his lips.

As for her awkward apprenticeship posture, he guessed it was learned from humans. He didn't say anything to her, just nodded lightly. The master-disciple relationship was thus established, and he would inform everyone after returning to the sect.

As for getting the little guy to serve tea like a human apprentice, that was obviously impossible; he was even worried that the little guy's paws wouldn't be able to hold the teacup.

In any case, none of his disciples had ever offered him tea as a sign of respect. As a transformed spirit beast, he didn't care about such things; as long as the sentiment was there, that was enough.

"This storage bag contains a gift from your master to you when we first meet. I will give you a complete apprenticeship gift after we return to the sect."
