Chapter 306 Helper

Upon hearing the knock on the door, both Shushu and Xuejie were filled with curiosity.

The waiter reacted quickly; after receiving a signal from Shushu, he rushed to the door, opened the door to the private room with a creak, and casually asked, "Who is it?"

The next moment, the view was blocked, and the millet and potatoes outside could not be seen. All that could be seen was the waiter frozen in place, his whole body trembling, as if he was excited and happy, or as if he was afraid.

Shushu was a little confused by his reaction. She exchanged a glance with Xuejie, who then walked over.

He casually opened the half-open door completely, allowing Shushu to see what was happening outside.

Standing outside the door was a stunningly beautiful woman dressed in red, with an ethereal and otherworldly aura.

Seeing Shushu look over, the beautiful woman smiled at him.

That stunningly beautiful face, capable of captivating a nation, left Shushu completely stunned. He stared at her, his eyes wide, and a feeling of being willing to go through fire and water for her arose inexplicably within him.

No, why would she go through fire and water for a stranger, no matter how beautiful the other person is? What does it have to do with her?

Shushu was shocked, and his previously confused eyes immediately cleared.

Realizing he had been misled, Shushu looked at the other person again with wariness in his eyes and heart.

While sizing up the other party, Shushu also took the opportunity to observe the situation outside.

Shushu even saw another waiter come out of the next private room. The waiter's gaze seemed to sweep over this side, but there was nothing wrong in his eyes.

Knowing that the person in front of him must have done something, Shushu glanced at the bewitched waiter and Xuejie, whose eyes were still struggling.

With a slight movement of her hand, a pebble struck Xuejie's exposed hand, while she ignored the waiter.

Perhaps the pain stimulated his nerves, and Yukisuke quickly regained consciousness.

Once Yukisuke regained his senses, he immediately understood what had just happened. A look of annoyance flashed in his eyes as he looked at the person outside the door with even more vigilance than a potato, but he didn't say a word.

The beautiful woman, however, smiled as she looked at this, and said with a slight parting of her lips, "You are the helper that Mo Xin found. You are not bad."

After saying that, without waiting for Shushu and Xuejie to react, she waved her hand, and the waiter walked out of the private room like a puppet, passing by them.

After Xiao Er left, the beautiful woman walked into the private room with an extremely natural air, ignoring Xue Jie's wide eyes and leaving him rooted to the spot. She then calmly sat down opposite Shushu.

After sitting down, she flicked her sleeve, and the door to the private room closed silently.

Shushu glanced at Xuejie, who was trapped behind the door. It didn't know why this senior disliked it, but since it was a bear after all, it pleaded, "Senior, please be merciful."

The beauty didn't respond to Shushu's words, but instead introduced herself: "My name is Cheng Ying, and Mo Xin sent me to find you."

As she spoke, she took out the token to prove that she was not lying, and then looked at Shushu with great interest, as if waiting for Shushu to speak.

Shushu paused, hesitating over which name to say, when Cheng Ying interrupted him by raising her hand: "I know you're not called Liuyun."

Shushu hesitated, swallowing the words that were about to come out. Meeting the other person's knowing gaze, he finally revealed his real name: "Junior Shushu greets Senior Chengying."

Cheng Ying smiled again, her tone certain: "You're the treasure-hunting rat?"

Knowing he couldn't hide it any longer, Shushu nodded and said, "Yes."

The next moment, a furry creature that looked like a fox but had horns on its back was thrown into her arms: "This is my junior. Make a contract with her, and she will stay by your side from now on."

Shushu, holding the unexpectedly thrown Xiaochenghuang, looked completely bewildered: "A contract?"

Cheng Ying: "Hmm."

Shushu paused for a long time before finally unable to hold back and asked, "Why?" Don't beasts all like to be free and unrestrained? Why would she push her own offspring into the fire?

Okay, even though her place isn't exactly a hellhole, her eagerness to find a home for the child just doesn't seem right.

Cheng Ying noticed Shushu's confusion and offered a rare explanation: "This child has both demonic and spiritual bodies, and must cultivate both to balance his constitution."

Okay, now I get it. It just means I've almost mastered magic and need to start training in spiritual power.

She had heard of this constitution in her inherited memories, so Shushu wasn't surprised.

As for why Cheng Ying knew about her spiritual cultivation identity, she had already stated from the beginning that she most likely learned it from Mo Xin.

However, Shushu still had a question: why did Senior Chengying know that her alias was Liuyun?

Thinking this, Shushu couldn't help but ask, "Senior, how did you know I used the alias Liuyun?" Did she keep an eye on him before, or was she the one keeping an eye on the Hei family?

Cheng Ying glanced at Shushu, guessed what she was thinking, and denied it: "That idiot next door isn't one of my people."

Then she tossed out a tortoise shell and pointed it out to Shushu: "It told me that."

Millet and potatoes: ...

After standing there dumbfounded for a long time, seeing that the other person still had the same expression, Shushu knew that he wouldn't get anything more out of them. He felt helpless but there was nothing he could do.

He could only turn his gaze to the little Chenghuang in his arms: "What's your name?"

Xiao Cheng Huang saw that Shushu had finally noticed him. He first waved his furry paws at Shushu, and then spoke in a soft, sweet voice: "Hello, future little master, my name is Chengxu."

Clearly, it did not resist the contract with the millet, and even carried a hint of anticipation that it itself did not realize, its eyes shining as it looked at the millet.

Before Shushu could speak, Chengying corrected him, "Not the future."

Chengxu was very quick to respond: "Little master." As soon as she finished speaking, she couldn't wait to bite the tip of the sweet potato with her little baby teeth.

Seeing blood beads appear on its fingertips, it excitedly forced out its own blood and began chanting incantations to activate the master-servant contract.

Soon, a complex and ancient contract totem lit up beneath them. As two drops of blood entered the totem, the contract was completed, and Shushu also sensed the bond between herself and Xiaochengxu.

And so, Shushu gained another friend, a dual-elemental demon spirit. Shushu felt a little conflicted, but could still accept it.

On the other hand, Cheng Ying, seeing the contract completed, silently breathed a sigh of relief.

Thinking that she had finally gotten rid of this hot potato, her smile became even brighter, and then she remembered her mission to find the glutinous rice.

To put it bluntly, she was actually an accomplice that Mo Xin found to help Shushu.

Shushu didn't hide anything from her and immediately told her all her discoveries.

Then, the two discussed the matter for a long time before Cheng Ying left behind several storage rings and communication jade tablets.
