Chapter 386 Lu Li's Understanding

Watching the endless stream of little ones tirelessly rushing over again and again, Shushu couldn't help but laugh and watched with great interest.

When she gets really into watching, she'll occasionally shout something, either to cheer on the kids or to direct them to cooperate in the fight.

With her help, the children became even more excited and fought with all their might, gradually figuring out how to form a formation.

By combining their strengths and compensating for their weaknesses, they actually managed to create a change, cracking the barrier by a tiny bit, about the size of a fingernail.

Even so, the little ones were very excited. They were all like they had been injected with chicken blood, their eyes shining, and they all aimed at the slit and made a lot of effort.

Lu Li was also curious about the little guys' limits. Instead of patching the hole, he stopped and watched them work hard with Shushu, occasionally offering some pointers.

At first, the little ones were wary of him being the one who set up the barrier and refused to pay him any attention. But when one or two of them did as he said, they found that the effect was actually quite good.

Once they're sure he's not lying to the kids, they'll be more receptive to his advice.

Thus, the situation evolved into Lu Li directing his cubs to attack his barrier, while Shushu and a group of winged elders watched the show from the sidelines.

This fighting went on for several days without interruption.

Three days later, the exhausted chicks finally managed to make a hole the size of a jujube, just big enough for the smallest chubby chick to peek its head through, while its body got stuck outside.

With no other option, the group of children had to start trying again, continuing to absorb spiritual energy while attacking the barrier.

Fortunately, they had already solved the most difficult step, and widening the opening was relatively easy. After another half day, they finally managed to create an opening that everyone could pass through.

Upon seeing the cave entrance, the little ones' eyes lit up, and they all wanted to be the first to rush over. You think, I think, and this group that had been together for a few days instantly broke up.

The cubs started fighting over who would go first; one would pull the other's tail, another would grab its paws, and yet another would tug at its wings.

In an instant, the little ones started wrestling together like a bunch of fluffy balls flying around, their furry little bodies bumping into each other, and their fur falling like snowflakes.

Whoever is closest to the cave entrance will be the one attacked by the group.

The chirping of various young birds echoed throughout the space.

It's fortunate that all the babies have already left the incubation pool, otherwise such a commotion might have really disturbed the babies in the incubation pool.

Seeing this, the parents nearby not only did not stop it, but instead kept encouraging it and giving bad advice.

They're either saying, "Little one, bite its butt," or shouting, "Little one, pull its tail hair."

With these unreliable parents joining in, the already chaotic kids became even more disorganized, forgetting all about finding the sweet potato.

Too lazy to distinguish whether it was the voice of their own parents or elders, they simply followed the voice's command and pressed down on their friends to start fighting.

Soon, a series of childish voices rang out.

"Who bit my butt?"

"Hey, hey, no! Don't pull my tail feathers, there's only one left."

"Ahhh, I've lost all my hair, boohoo~"

"You still say that you didn't pull my tail feathers first?"

Suddenly, various sounds, accompanied by faint sobs, arose.

Instead of feeling sorry for their children, the parents laughed and even mocked them, saying things like, "Hey kid, you're balding, you're going to have to run around naked, hahaha."

These laughs perfectly portrayed the heartless parents, as if the child in front of them wasn't their own, and the one who looked so distressed before the ordeal wasn't them either.

Shushu and Luli were speechless. Finally, they exchanged a glance and decided to avoid seeing it. While everyone's attention was on the kids' chaotic fight, they quietly slipped away.

Even after leaving the secret place, Shushu was still a little scared and couldn't help but mutter with a laugh, "That was terrifying, that was terrifying."

Seeing her like this, Lu Li found it somewhat amusing and thought of patting Shushu's head as he always did.

Only after reaching out did I realize that the little girl, who was originally only as tall as my legs, had unknowingly grown to be as tall as my chest, only a head shorter than me.

From his vantage point, he could even see the perfectly proportioned curves of the girl in front of him, something that a child could never possess.

In an instant, a hint of unease flashed across Lu Li's face, and for the first time, he realized with absolute clarity that his junior sister had truly grown up and was no longer the short, stocky girl she once was.

Growing up also means that they have to start paying attention to the differences between men and women. Thinking back to how his father was wary of him, Lu Li understood everything.

Then, Lu Li, having come to his senses, couldn't help but start thinking about things he had never considered before.

However, the thought of having to keep his distance from Shushu from now on, and perhaps even having to escort Shushu to her wedding as her elder brother, inexplicably gave rise to a feeling of unease in his heart.

Especially when Lu Li thought about the future, with other men standing next to Shushu and embracing them intimately, the thought alone filled him with a violent rage.

Taking a deep breath, Lu Li finally calmed himself down a bit.

Meeting Shushu's questioning gaze, he dared not show the slightest abnormality, for fear of frightening Shushu, and even more so, for fear that Shushu would distance herself from him from now on.

He was an extremely intelligent person in every aspect. He had never thought about it before, but now that he did, he instantly understood his own thoughts: he liked sweet potatoes.

Yes, it was love. Although he didn't know when this feeling started, whether it was the gradual development of feelings through long-term companionship, or the love at first sight when he realized how stunning Shushu was after she grew up.

Regardless of the reason, he could confirm that his heart was indeed fluttering because of the sweet potato.

Of course, he also knew that Shushu hadn't figured things out yet; it was just that years of companionship had made her subconsciously trust and rely on him.

This was his advantage, an advantage that no one else could replace. Lu Li thought to himself, and quickly formulated a plan in his mind.

He was never one to hesitate; once he had made up his mind, he naturally wouldn't give the other person a chance to back out.

Since Shushu hasn't figured it out yet, he'll wait for her to. Like boiling a frog in lukewarm water, he doesn't believe that Shushu will be able to jump out once she figures it out.

Thinking of this, Lu Li quickly concealed the myriad emotions that had just risen in his eyes, regained his usual gentle demeanor, raised his hand, and gently rubbed Shushu's head.

Shushu looked Lu Li up and down several times, but found no difference between him and usual, so she relaxed and turned to continue walking out without any suspicion.

She didn't notice at all that Lu Li's gaze behind her held a hint of emotion she couldn't understand.
