Chapter 18 Three Pursuits, Two Encounters: Encounters Lead to Chaotic Battle

"Third son! My lifeblood! You heartless bastards! You can't take my son away! You stole our grain and now you want to take away the lifeblood of the Wu family!"

"Mother, why do I hear Wu Laosan's mother calling?" Han Mingjiang said, standing next to Li Lanzhen.

Seeing this scene, Xue Laohu warned everyone not to get too close and to run away if things looked bad. Adults and children alike became tense and quietly observed the situation on the road.

As the two groups drew closer, everyone's expressions grew increasingly tense. The first group consisted of about a dozen people, who appeared to be refugees as well. However, what seemed odd was that they were all men, carrying large knives, and all of them had ruddy complexions, suggesting they were not lacking in food or drink.

They were all holding a rope, to which were tied eight or nine men with bruised and swollen faces. Several other men were leading a cow and a donkey, with heavy sacks slung over their backs.

Following behind were a group of men, women, and children, carrying, holding, and dragging baskets and carts, but they all looked panicked, helpless, and miserable.

Judging from the appearance, the group of people in front are pulling their relatives, as well as their cattle, donkeys, grain, and valuables.

At this moment, Han Minghai leaned close to Li Lanzhen and whispered, "Mother, the people behind are from our village. They must have been robbed by this group of bad guys in front. Look, Uncle De from the village chief's family and his son Han Zhaoxiong are tied up in front. But where are the village chief's second uncle and his son?"

Han Mingjiang tightened his grip on the stun gun, his eyes blazing as he glared at the people on the street. "Mom," he asked, "what should we do? Should we go help them?"

Looking at the village chief and his men in such a miserable state, Li Lanzhen was still wondering how they could have fallen behind when they had left two days earlier than her family. The group ahead of them looked like they were not to be trifled with, and they all had large knives, the kind of knives that ordinary people couldn't even buy.

Xue Laohu knew that this was the village chief of Hanjiacun and the villagers they had been chasing, but their current situation was very dire.

If they rescue the village chief, they will have to fight those people, and the chances of winning are slim. If they don't rescue him, they will definitely feel bad about it. Besides, the son-in-law's family will definitely go to rescue him.

Indeed, after much deliberation, Li Lanzhen knew she had to go and save people even if she couldn't win. However, she needed to plan how to increase her chances of winning. She only had three stun guns, none of which had appeared in the store. She still had plenty of firecrackers and fireworks, but how could she use them without harming the villagers?

Just as she was pondering this, she heard the girl's heart-wrenching screams.

"Ahhh! You beast! Let me go! Mother! Father! Save me!"

"Let go of my daughter! Let her go!"

Upon closer inspection, everyone saw that the men were pulling and tugging at several girls from the village, and the girls' families were fighting with them.

Before Li Lanzhen could even say she was going to rescue the person, "whoosh!" she saw a figure rush out from behind her.

"You beast! Let her go!!"

Immediately afterwards, Han Mingjiang shouted, "Little brother!" and rushed out as well.

Li Lanzhen then realized that the crying girl was Han Shulan, the village chief's eldest granddaughter, and the first one to rush out was Han Mingxiang. She seemed to have discovered something extraordinary. Could this kid be...?

Thinking to himself, he shouted, "Eldest brother, you and your father-in-law stay here and look after the family. Tonghua, watch over our parents and the stream." Then he rushed several meters away.

Behind him followed closely by Xue Laohu, Xue Bao, Li Guangyang, Zhang Songshu, and several other men.

Seeing that all the men had rushed out, and that he was staying behind, Han Minghai said to Tonghua, "Aunt, I'm going out with my mother too. You keep an eye on Yuemei. Wife, you stay with your mother and watch the children."

Han Mingxiang rushed up behind the man who was holding Han Shulan and struck him hard on the head with a stick. Although the man was thin, he was a head taller than Han Mingxiang. When he turned around, he saw the kid who had hit him with the stick standing behind him.

He reached out and grabbed Han Mingxiang, lifting him up in one swift motion, glaring at him fiercely: "Do you want to die?"

With his other hand, he still held tightly to Han Shulan. Han Shulan had already kicked off one of her shoes and was barefoot. She kept pulling her body backward, her eyes constantly looking at her mother chasing after her and her father who was tied up.

Suddenly, someone rushed out and hit the person who was holding her. She was startled, and when she turned around, she was even more shocked. How could Han Mingxiang be here, and even come to save her?

Her eyes were blurry with tears, her face covered in dust and grime. She struggled to push away the hands that were gripping her, muttering to herself, "Mingxiang, is that you? Did you come to save me? Or am I seeing things?"

Han Mingxiang, who had been lifted up by the man, swung the stick in her right hand and jabbed it at his eyes. "Ah~~ I'm going to strangle you!"

The man's eye was stabbed hard with a stick, and blood gushed out immediately. He shouted and cursed loudly, releasing Han Shulan and Han Mingxiang from his eyes and tightly covering them with his hands.

Han Mingxiang fell to the ground, ignoring the pain she was in, grabbed Han Shulan's hand and pulled her towards her home.

Li Lanzhen and Han Mingjiang used electric batons to stun the men walking ahead. One after another, the burly men in front fell to the ground and lay motionless.

This bizarre scene not only startled the men, but also the people from Lijia Village who were chasing after them.

"Wow! You wretched old woman, Li! It's all your fault, you jinx! You're the one who killed your husband! It's all because of you that my only son suffered such a terrible fate! You jinx! I'll beat you to death, you wretched slut!"

Suddenly, Li Lanzhen was knocked to the ground by the rascal Wu Laotai who rushed over. Wu Laotai then straddled Li Lanzhen and started hitting her.

While hitting them, he shouted loudly at the men, "Go and rob them! They have plenty of grain, and their girls are all beautiful. You could sell them to a brothel for a good price! Let go of my son! He's the only son in the Wu family!"

Old Mrs. Wu screamed hysterically, and her viciousness chilled everyone to the bone!

How could someone be so wicked after living in the same village for so many years! They actually told bad people to steal grain, and what's most intolerable is that they let these bad people sell the girls in Li Lanzhen's family into brothels. That's too vicious!

Li Lanzhen wasn't particularly angry when she heard her being scolded. She just thought to herself that she must avenge the original owner of this body when she encountered that shrew, Old Lady Wu. Although the original owner was heartbroken because of her husband's death and was starving, which caused her soul to be scattered, she was the one who transmigrated.

But she actually allowed these robbers to rob her own home, and even led them to harass the girls in her family, which was absolutely intolerable.

"Old Mrs. Wu! How could you shift the blame to others! Li risked her own safety to save us, you are shameless!" The village chief, leaning on a bare tree branch, stomped his foot on the ground and scolded Old Mrs. Wu.

"Pah! Do you think I don't know? Your eldest granddaughter has taken a liking to the third son of that awful old woman Li, of course you're speaking up for them."

Taking advantage of her distraction, Li Lanzhen rolled over, kicked her over, and shoved an electric baton into her body, silencing her instantly.

Watching Han Mingjiang, Xue Laohu, and the other men fighting with the other men, Zhang Songshu was clearly exhausted. He had already been stabbed in the arm and was bleeding.

"Men and women of Hanjia Village, let's go together! Those who want revenge, go get your things back! Take back your grain and beat these bastards to death!"
