Lin Cuiying was startled. Could it be that she had encountered some danger?
She quickly picked up a piece of firewood and looked outside warily.
Lin Tiandong also noticed something was wrong. He stood next to Lin Cuiying, tightly gripping a rather thick piece of firewood.
"Sister, what is that?" he asked nervously.
Lin Cuiying did not answer. She looked closely at the dark figure and found that it was moving slowly.
As the shadowy figure drew closer, Lin Cuiying asked the system, "Dude, what's that shadowy figure?"
The goofball chuckled, "Host, that's an acquaintance."
"An acquaintance?" Lin Cuiying was taken aback. "How could there be an acquaintance in this snowy weather?"
The goofy guy said mysteriously, "You don't understand, do you? Acquaintances always show up when you least expect them."
Lin Cuiying rolled her eyes and said speechlessly, "Can't you be serious for once?"
The goofball chuckled, "Alright, alright, I'll be serious. But, host, just you wait and see, it's definitely someone we know."
Lin Cuiying was puzzled.
How could I possibly meet someone I know on such a snowy day?
Could it be someone from the village?
But that doesn't make sense. In this kind of weather, who would go out?
Could it be that Father came out looking for them?
Just as I was thinking this, the dark figure was getting closer and closer.
Lin Cuiying looked closely and realized it was a horse-drawn carriage.
“Tian Dong, look, that’s a carriage.” Lin Cuiying pointed outside.
Lin Tiandong looked in the direction she was pointing and indeed saw a carriage.
"With such heavy snow, why would you be traveling on this narrow path?" he asked, puzzled.
Lin Cuiying was also full of doubts. She looked closely at the carriage and found that there seemed to be someone else inside.
"Could it be someone from the village?" Lin Tiandong guessed.
Lin Cuiying shook her head. "I don't know. We'll find out when the carriage arrives."
The two stood at the cave entrance, watching the carriage together.
The carriage drew closer and closer, finally stopping in front of them.
Lin Cuiying and Lin Tiandong looked at the carriage.
The people rushing to catch the train were covered in snowflakes, making it difficult to see their faces clearly.
Just then, the carriage curtain was lifted, and another person jumped off the carriage.
The man got off the carriage and shook the snowflakes off his clothes.
Lin Cuiying took a closer look and was stunned.
"Young Master An?" she exclaimed in surprise.
It turned out that this person was An Yunzhou.
Lin Tiandong recognized him too, "Brother An, it's you?"
An Yunzhou looked up and saw them too. "Miss Lin, Tian Dong, you're really here."
Lin Cuiying could hardly believe her eyes. "Young Master An, what are you doing here?"
An Yunzhou immediately explained, "I went to Luhua Village to look for you. I heard that you hadn't returned home yet, and I was worried that something had happened to you, so I had my men drive the carriage along the way to look for you."
Lin Cuiying felt a warmth in her heart. "Young Master An, thank you."
An Yunzhou waved his hand, "Don't be so polite, Miss Lin and Tiandong, please get in the car quickly. It's too dangerous to be out in this snowy weather."
Lin Cuiying and Lin Tiandong exchanged a glance before getting into the carriage.
An Yunzhou boarded the carriage and told the driver to continue on his way.
The carriage moved slowly across the snow. Inside the carriage, Lin Cuiying looked at An Yunzhou, her heart filled with gratitude.
"Young Master An, we owe you a great debt of gratitude this time. Otherwise, my brother and I might have frozen to death in this snow." She said sincerely.
An Yunzhou smiled and said, "Miss Lin, you're too kind. I'm happy to be able to help you."
Lin Cuiying looked at him, feeling a little puzzled.
"Young Master An, is there something you need to do in Luhua Village this time?" she asked tentatively.
An Yunzhou nodded. "Yes, there is something."
"Oh? What is it?" Lin Cuiying asked curiously.
An Yunzhou shook his head. "It's a long story."
Seeing that he didn't want to talk about it, Lin Cuiying didn't press him further.
A brief silence fell over the carriage.
Just then, the carriage suddenly stopped.
Lin Cuiying and Lin Tiandong were both taken aback. An Yunzhou frowned, lifted the curtain, and looked out.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
The driver turned around and said, "Young master, the road ahead is blocked by heavy snow."
Upon hearing this, An Yunzhou got off the carriage to check the situation.
Lin Cuiying and Lin Tiandong also looked out of the carriage.
The road ahead was blocked by heavy snow, making it impossible for the carriage to pass.
"What should we do?" Lin Tiandong said anxiously.
Lin Cuiying looked around and found that there was no village or shop in sight, and nowhere to take shelter from the snow.
An Yunzhou remained calm, "Don't worry, let's get out of the car and take a look."
As he spoke, he got off the carriage, and Lin Cuiying and Lin Tiandong quickly followed.
After getting out of the car, An Yunzhou carefully surveyed the surrounding area.
"We're still some distance from the village ahead, so we'll probably have to wait here for a while."
Upon hearing this, Lin Cuiying couldn't help but feel a little worried.
"How long?" she asked.
An Yunzhou looked at the sky. "I'm not quite sure either."
Lin Cuiying couldn't help but feel a little worried.
This snow is so heavy, when will it stop?
Seeing Lin Cuiying's worry, An Yunzhou comforted her, "Miss Lin, don't worry, I've already sent someone ahead to scout the way, and we might find a way through soon."
Lin Cuiying then realized that the coachman was not beside them.
"Young Master An, thank you," she said gratefully.
An Yunzhou smiled and said, "Miss Lin, you're too kind."
Just then, a gust of cold wind blew by, and Lin Cuiying couldn't help but shiver.
Seeing this, An Yunzhou quickly said, "Miss Lin, Tiandong, you should get in the carriage quickly, don't get too cold."
Lin Cuiying and Lin Tiandong knew that there was nothing they could do standing there except to prepare for the blizzard, so they quickly got into the carriage.
Although the carriage wasn't very warm, it at least provided shelter from the wind and snow.
Lin Cuiying sat in the carriage, looking at the snow scene outside, and couldn't help but feel a little emotional.
This trip has been incredibly unlucky.
Fortunately, they met An Yunzhou, otherwise the siblings might have really frozen to death in the snow.
Thinking of An Yunzhou, Lin Cuiying turned her head to look over.
An Yunzhou was sitting opposite him, resting with his eyes closed.
Lin Cuiying looked at him, feeling a little curious.
I wonder what his purpose was in coming to Luhua Village this time?
However, since he didn't want to talk about it, she didn't press him for details.
Just then, An Yunzhou suddenly opened his eyes.
"Miss Lin, Tian Dong, are you hungry?" he asked.
Lin Cuiying was taken aback, only then realizing that they hadn't eaten for a long time.
She touched her stomach; she was indeed a little hungry.
"Young Master An, do you have anything to eat?" she asked.
An Yunzhou smiled and said, "Of course I have. I was prepared."
As he spoke, he took a package out of the carriage, opened it, and found that it contained some dry food and water.
