Chapter 74 Sealing the Cave Entrance

"Yes," Lin Cuiying nodded. "If we don't block this hole, I'm afraid it will cause trouble for the villagers."

"Don't worry, host, this hole won't cause any trouble for the villagers," Doubi reassured Lin Cuiying. "No one usually comes here, so no one will discover this hole."

"But, better safe than sorry," Lin Cuiying said, still somewhat worried. "If someone really discovers this hole, then we'll be in real trouble."

Hearing Lin Cuiying say this, Doubi also fell silent.

The host is right, it's better to be safe than sorry.

If someone actually discovers this hole, then things will really get complicated.

"Host, how about we seal off the cave entrance later?" The goofy guy paused for a moment before speaking again, "I checked, it's going to rain soon, you can take advantage of the rain to go above the cave entrance..."

Push the stones down and seal the hole.

"Great idea!" Lin Cuiying's eyes lit up. "That way, no one will discover the hole."

Lin Cuiying looked up at the sky and noticed that dark clouds were beginning to gather.

It looks like it's going to rain soon.

Without hesitation, Lin Cuiying climbed directly up to the top of the cave entrance.

Above the cave entrance is a protruding rock, and below the rock is an open space.

Lin Cuiying stood on the open ground, looking at the cave entrance, and began to look for suitable stones.

Soon, she found a large rock.

The rock was as big as half her body.

Lin Cuiying pushed the stone forcefully above the cave entrance.

Then, she waited quietly for it to rain.

Not long after, a torrential downpour began.

Under the cover of the sound of rain, Lin Cuiying pushed the stone down with all her might.

With a loud "boom," the stone sealed the entrance to the cave.

Seeing that the cave entrance was sealed, Lin Cuiying breathed a sigh of relief.

That way, no one will discover the hole.

Then, she turned and left.

When she got home, her clothes were soaked.

She tiptoed into the house and began looking for clean clothes.

After finding her clothes, Lin Cuiying prepared to change out of her wet clothes.

She was very careful, afraid of waking up the people in her family.

Lin Cuiying breathed a sigh of relief after changing out of her wet clothes.

She put the dirty clothes aside, planning to wash them tomorrow when the weather was better.

After doing all this, Lin Cuiying went to bed.

Perhaps because she had been busy all day, she fell asleep as soon as she got into bed.

I had a good night's sleep.

When Lin Cuiying woke up, she found that both of the little maids were already up.

"Mother, you're awake?" Lin Yueju saw that Lin Cuiying had opened her eyes and quickly came over.

"Yes, you're awake." Lin Cuiying rubbed her eyes and then sat up. "Why are you all up so early?"

“My sister said we have to get up early,” Lin Yueju replied earnestly.

"And her?" Lin Cuiying asked.

"My sister went to help Grandma start the fire." Lin Yueju turned her head to look in the direction of the kitchen.

This little girl is quite diligent.

After Lin Cuiying got up, she saw that the rain outside was getting heavier and heavier.

She couldn't help but frown.

Why is the rain getting heavier?

If it keeps going like this, when will it stop?

Just as Lin Cuiying was thinking this, she saw Lin Tiandong running back in the rain.

As soon as he entered the courtyard, he shouted, "Sister, the cave we visited yesterday was blocked by a rock."

"If it's blocked, it's blocked. Look, your clothes are all soaked."

As soon as Lin Cuiying finished speaking, Chen came out of the kitchen.

She looked at Lin Tiandong with a reproachful expression: "Why are you running outside in this heavy rain?"

Lin Tiandong didn't say anything, he just kept grinning foolishly.

"Mother, don't talk about Tiandong anymore," Lin Cuiying quickly interjected to help Lin Tiandong out of the predicament. "Let Tiandong go and change his wet clothes first."

After Lin Tiandong changed out of his wet clothes, Chen Shi finally let him go and started nagging, "Why did you go out in such heavy rain? What if you got sick?"

"I just wanted to go and see the cave entrance," Lin Tiandong said, sounding a little aggrieved. "The cave entrance was fine yesterday, but today it's blocked by a rock."

"So what if it's blocked?" Chen said irritably. "Do you really need to brave this heavy rain to go check?"

Lin Tiandong immediately fell silent.

"Alright, Mother, stop nagging about Tiandong." Lin Cuiying smiled and changed the subject. "Mother, is breakfast ready? I'm hungry."

Upon hearing Lin Cuiying say she was hungry, Chen stopped nagging about Lin Tiandong.

"It's ready, it's ready." Madam Chen turned around and went back into the kitchen. "Go and call your father over for dinner."

"Okay." Lin Cuiying nodded and then went to Lin Changgeng's room.

When she arrived at Lin Changgeng's room, Lin Changgeng was sitting on the bed, looking pained.

Upon seeing this, Lin Cuiying's expression changed drastically. She quickly walked to Lin Changgeng's bedside and asked with concern, "Father, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"It's nothing." Lin Changgeng waved his hand at Lin Cuiying. "It's an old problem."

"An old problem?" Lin Cuiying frowned. "What old problem?"

As she spoke, her gaze fell on Lin Changgeng's legs.

"My leg hurts whenever it rains," Lin Changgeng said, pointing to his leg with a pained expression.

Seeing this, Lin Cuiying couldn't help but reach out and massage Lin Changgeng's legs.

As she rubbed it, she asked, "Dad, how long have your legs been hurting?"

“It’s been many years.” Lin Changgeng sighed. “When I was young, I worked too hard, so I developed this problem.”

"How come I've never heard of this before?" Lin Cuiying asked, somewhat surprised.

"It's an old problem, what's there to say?" Lin Changgeng smiled. "Once the weather clears up, my leg won't hurt anymore."

Lin Cuiying didn't say anything, but continued to massage Lin Changgeng's legs.

After massaging for a while, Lin Changgeng finally spoke, "Okay, stop massaging."

"Father, are you feeling better?" Lin Cuiying asked with concern.

"Much better." Lin Changgeng nodded. "Our Yingzi is so sensible."

Hearing Lin Changgeng praise her, Lin Cuiying also smiled.

"Dad, let me help you to your meal first."

"Okay." Lin Changgeng nodded, and then, with Lin Cuiying's help, got out of bed.

After Lin Cuiying helped Lin Changgeng to the main room, Chen had already served the food.

"Father, come sit here." Lin Cuiying pointed to the stool next to her, gesturing for Lin Changgeng to sit down.

After Lin Changgeng sat down, Lin Tiandong came over with two little girls.

The family sat together and began to eat breakfast.
