Chapter 123 An Rong is back

Anji stayed at the Wang family's house, while Yuan Doudou led the Wang brothers up the mountain.

She remembered An Rong's location; she couldn't refuse to go.

Upon arriving at the location, Yuan Doudou pointed to the bushes and said breathlessly, "This is it."

"Quickly remove these branches," Wang Qiqiang ordered.

The other three brothers were quick and efficient, and soon helped to throw the branches and dry grass aside.

Wang Qiqiang looked at the person on the ground and realized it was indeed his good brother, An Rong.

He really didn't die.

Wang Qiqiang felt a surge of warmth in his heart, and his nose tingled with emotion.

An indescribable feeling.

"DouDou, go back and find a doctor first. Brother Anrong's injuries are very serious." He often hunts and knows a lot about animal injuries, both for humans and animals.

Yuan Doudou wiped the sweat from her forehead and turned to walk back.

For a moment, the only person she could think of was Li Tianlang.

But Li Tianlang had ulterior motives, so she couldn't ask him for help anymore.

After descending the mountain, she found the village's barefoot doctor, a widower who traveled between several villages every day, treating difficult and complicated illnesses and earning a little money for drinks.

"Uncle Feng, could you please make this trip?" Yuan Doudou pleaded.

Feng Cai took a swig from his gourd, squinting his eyes, his cheekbones flushed red.

"Who did you say? An Rong?" he slurred. "Didn't he die on the battlefield?"

He wasn't drunk, so he couldn't have misheard.

After Yuan Doudou explained, Feng Cai reluctantly followed her home.

"No, I can't watch." Feng Cai glanced at An Rong on the bed and knew something was wrong.

Yuan Doudou grabbed him, not letting him leave, "You haven't even looked at the wound yet, how can you say it can't be looked at?"

This is not an overreaction.

Feng Cai stretched out his hands, making it clear that he had nothing to do and couldn't help An Rong.

"You should find someone else." He was just a barefoot doctor; he could prescribe some plaster, but he couldn't treat serious sword or knife wounds.

Moreover, An Rong's complexion clearly showed signs of poisoning; even if a renowned doctor were brought in, it would probably be too late.

After seeing Feng Cai off, Wang Qiqiang returned to his room and saw Yuan Doudou's thin figure, which made him feel very sorry for her.

"DouDou, An Rong will be fine, don't worry too much."

Yuan Doudou turned around and forced a smile. "Brother Wang, could you please lend me an oxcart? I'd like to take Anrong to town."

Bringing the doctor home is too slow.

It would be better to go directly to town and find a doctor.

No sooner had he finished speaking than Wang Qiqiang had already left.

A moment later, Wang Qiqiang returned by carriage.

The three brothers helped lift An Rong onto the oxcart.

Yuan Doudou took all the money in her family and got on the oxcart.

Anji stayed at the Wang family home and was entrusted to her godmother's care.

The oxcart was much slower than the horse-drawn carriage, and Yuan Doudou got off and walked for a while to make it easier for the oxen.

When we arrived in town, all the pharmacies were closed.

After walking all the way, only Tianming Medical Clinic was still lit up.

"Should we go see Doctor Li?" Wang Qiqiang's voice was hoarse. Ever since he went to the Li family to see Dou Dou last time, he had guessed that Li Tianlang liked Dou Dou.

Unfortunately, he didn't get the chance.

"Miss Yuan, what's wrong so late?" The shop assistant recognized her at a glance.

Yuan Doudou pointed to the oxcart and said calmly, "Brother, my husband is injured. I'm going to find a doctor to take a look."

The servant looked embarrassed.

"Miss Yuan, we're closing up shop. The doctors have all gone home." After a while, only a few servants were tidying up and cleaning the shop.

Yuan Doudou remembered that the clinic did not have staff on duty at night.

Compared to later generations, people in ancient times rarely got sick, and most of them could only wait to die.

"Please, my husband's injuries are very serious. If he doesn't receive timely treatment, I'm afraid..." She finally couldn't hold back anymore, and her eyes reddened.

The servant was even more perplexed.

On the carriage not far from the door, Li Tianlang was about to leave when he suddenly heard a familiar voice and hurriedly told Tian Qi to stop.

He peeked out, and sure enough, it was her.

Is she here to see me so late?

Li Tianlang's eyes held a smile, perhaps indicating that she still had feelings for him.

"Sir, it's getting late. If we don't go back soon, the old lady will get worried." We had agreed to have dinner together when we got back.

The gentleman was a very filial son, and he always listened to and obeyed the old lady's words.

What's going on now?

Tian Qi was puzzled, but then he saw Li Tianlang get out of the car and walk towards the entrance of the clinic.

"DouDou?" he called him by his full name.

Yuan Doudou was stunned. She turned around and saw that it really was him.

"Dr. Li, that's great, you haven't left yet." The extinguished hope was rekindled.

"Sir, we should go back now," Tian Qi insisted.

Li Tianlang raised his hand to signal him to be quiet.

"What happened?" He had just walked over when he immediately noticed the people on the oxcart.

Was Yuan Doudou here because of this person?

"Save my husband!" Yuan Doudou knelt down.

Li Tianlang frowned. "My lord?"

Anrong?

Zhao Anling did say that Yuan Doudou had a husband named An Rong, who was publicly said to have died in battle, but in reality, he was rescued and his personal freedom was restricted.

He actually came back?

What would happen if that person found out?

It's unlikely to end well.

Her husband's return meant she had no hope left.

The light in Li Tianlang's eyes flickered and then went out.

"Take him in quickly." Judging from An Rong's injuries, he risked his life to come back; he shouldn't be seen by too many people.

Wang Qiqiang carried An Rong into the clinic, with Yuan Doudou following behind.

Li Tianlang had the largest ward prepared for An Rong to stay in.

"You all get out." He frowned, as if he had encountered a thorny problem.

Yuan Doudou hesitated for a moment, wanting to say that she could also help, but held back.

Li Tianlang is a professional; he doesn't like family members to be present when he treats patients.

It always was.

Tian Qi carried the huge medicine box into the house and closed the door.

The servants outside the door served tea and water to Yuan Doudou and the others.

"Miss Yuan, don't worry. Since the doctor has accepted the case, he will definitely cure your husband." The doctor never does anything without certainty.

Yuan Doudou nodded with red eyes. Naturally, she trusted Li Tianlang's medical skills.

In the vast town of Ping'an, whose medical skills can surpass his?

Of course, there was no one.

Yuan Doudou's legs ached from standing, and her mouth was dry, but she didn't even think to drink some tea.

"DouDou, sit down and rest for a while, have a cup of tea." Wang Qiqiang had been standing the whole time.

Yuan Doudou glanced at the snacks on the table but didn't feel hungry.

"Brother Wang, sit down and rest. I'm not tired yet." She wasn't in the mood at all.

The husband that the original owner longed for returned, still seriously injured. Although she had no feelings for him, she could still empathize with him.

Besides, he's Angie's father; he absolutely cannot be harmed.

She silently prayed in her heart, "May all the gods and spirits appear quickly!"

Get An Rong out of danger.

At this moment, she desperately needs a magic touch.

She called upon every god she could, both domestically and internationally.

God seems very busy.
