Chapter 261 Drinking in Secret

Three days later, Fang He was able to stay on with a score of 90. This made Fang He extremely excited. He immediately hugged Lu Xi and spun her around, which made Huang Rong roll her eyes.

"It's just becoming a waiter, not an official. Why are you so excited?" Huang Rong complained as she watched.

It's improper for two grown men to be hugging and cuddling. Ever since Fang He came, Huang Rong has disliked it and is afraid that he will corrupt Lu Xi.

"Hey, hey, can't you be a little more reserved? There are other people here." Huang Rong couldn't stand it anymore.

Fang He didn't have a good impression of Huang Rong either. She was always lazy and let Lu Xi do all the dirty and heavy work while he just slacked off.

"If you don't like it, then don't watch it. We didn't ask you to watch it," Fang He said irritably, practically rolling his eyes at her.

Huang Rong immediately bristled, "Fang He, what kind of attitude is this? Do you believe I'll kick you out?"

"Oh? You're so powerful that you can make me get lost?" Fang He crossed his arms and glanced at her sideways. The more arrogant she looked at him, the angrier she became.

I really don't know why Brother Anrong would let someone like that stay. He's not like that at all; he looks more like a good-for-nothing playboy.

Fang He clutched his stomach and laughed, "Look at you, you look like a toad, so ugly."

Seeing that he was going too far, Lu Xi quietly tugged at his sleeve, reminding him to watch his words.

"Lu Xi, don't pull me. I'm going to tell her the truth today, so she knows her own worth and won't point fingers here." Fang He also wanted to stand up for Lu Xi.

Because she was brought back by Sister Dou Dou, she really treated herself like a treasure, bullying Lu Xi all day long, sleeping in late, and ordering Dou Dou around to do chores.

"Tell me, let's see what good words you can spout." Huang Rong felt uneasy. It was all Fang He's fault that Lu Xi distanced herself from him and spent all her time with Fang He.

Fang He sneered: "If I have a dog's mouth, then your mouth is a chicken's ass, always pooping sugary chicken shit."

Huang Rong's face showed anger. Unable to bear it any longer, she grabbed Fang He by the collar and pressed him to the ground.

"You want to fight back when you can't win an argument? Do you think you're my match?" Fang He was taller than Huang Rong, and he easily tackled her, pinning her to the table where she couldn't move.

Lu Xi quickly came over and pulled him away, "Fang He, don't go too far."

He agreed that a good man doesn't argue with a woman. Huang Rong is a girl, so it's normal for her to throw a little tantrum. It's understandable that girls are delicate and should do less dirty work.

Lu Xi didn't want to argue with her about these things.

"You're still protecting her?" Fang He asked incredulously, staring at Lu Xi with wide eyes, utterly unable to comprehend it.

Lu Xi didn't know what to say. Even if Huang Rong was wrong, Fang He's actions were still wrong.

"Fang He, if we do this, Dou Dou and the others will worry." They are here to share Dou Dou's burden, not to add to her worries, and he doesn't want Dou Dou to see this scene.

Unfortunately, just as he finished speaking, Yuan Doudou came out from the backyard carrying Tangtang.

"What are you doing here so late? Why aren't you resting?" Yuan Doudou pretended to know nothing and spoke softly.

Fang He quickly let go, and Lu Xi helped Huang Rong stand up straight.

"Sister Dou Dou, we just finished cleaning up, let's go back and rest now," Lu Xi explained.

Fang He stood aside without saying a word. He could tell that Lu Xi cared a lot about Yuan Doudou. He should restrain himself in front of Sister Doudou so as not to make Lu Xi angry with him.

"Okay, Huang Rong, come and hold Tangtang for me, I'm going to take a shower," Yuan Doudou said.

Huang Rong was filled with resentment and was about to complain to Sister Dou Dou when she strode forward, not forgetting to give Fang He a big eye roll, as if to say, "See? Sister Dou Dou made me hold Tang Tang, not you, because you don't deserve it."

After they left, Fang He finally dared to speak loudly.

"Lu Xi, did you see that? That eye roll of hers almost sent her flying," Fang He said with a look of disgust.

Huang Rong was the same age as him, but they had nothing in common and would argue whenever they spoke.

"Fang He, since you've decided to stay, you should get along well with Rongrong. If you two continue like this, I'll worry." I'm worried they might start fighting at any moment.

"Okay, I got it. Lu Xi, you're great in every way, except you're too soft."

If he's like this, once he finds a wife, she'll probably have him completely under her thumb, and he won't have a chance to turn things around.

Lu Xi smiled helplessly, "I just don't want to cause trouble for others."

Anrong and Doudou were both very good to him, and he didn't want to cause them any trouble over something so trivial.

"I know you're a good person. I'm only able to stay here today because of you. To express my gratitude, I'll treat you to a drink." He took out a wine pot from his pocket. It was made of white jade and looked very exquisite.

Lu Xi was shocked: "Fang He, you dare to steal wine?"

"I didn't steal it. These were leftovers from the guests, and I poured them into my bottle because I didn't want to waste them." Fang He's face beamed with pride, feeling that he had done a good job.

Lu Xi didn't know what to say. There were always leftovers in the tavern every day. Brother An Rong had said that they could be thrown away, or the clean ones could be kept for themselves.

“Okay, let’s go back first.” Lu Xi walked into the house first.

Fang He hadn't expected him to be so easy to talk to; he thought he was going to be lectured. He quickly followed in his footsteps, secretly delighted at the thought of drinking to his heart's content that evening.

Before, at home, he could only watch others drink. Whenever he wanted to drink, his grandmother would say that he was too young to drink, but he was already eighteen years old and an adult.

This trip out finally allowed me to be a real adult.

Back in the room, Fang He couldn't contain his anxiety. He gently closed the door, afraid of being discovered, feeling somewhat guilty.

Why are you locking the door?

Seeing his furtive manner, as if he had stolen something, Lu Xi thought, "They've only had a few sips of leftover wine, it can't be that serious."

"Keep your voice down. If Huang Rong hears you, she'll fight over the drink too. This isn't enough for the two of us."

Lu Xi was speechless. No matter how greedy Huang Rong was, she would never be greedy for alcohol. She never drank alcohol, but she did drink fruit wine.

"Lu Xi, you're only fourteen. Can you drink alcohol?" Fang He then realized that they weren't the same age.

Lu Xi nodded, "Red wine or beer is fine with me."

He'd also tried strong liquor, but it was too spicy, and he didn't really like it.

"That's perfect, mine is beer."

On his very first day there, he secretly drank a beer and was captivated by its wonderful taste.

At home, he had never even seen what beer looked like. It was yellowish at the bottom and had white foam floating on top, somewhat like the color of tea.

It's the kind of tea that produces foam.

"Here, you drink first." Fang He handed the wine pot to Lu Xi.
