Chapter 66 Braised Pig Intestines

"Mommy, are you going to use this smelly thing to make food?" Angie couldn't contain his curiosity and squatted down to the side, covering his nose as he asked.

Yuan Doudou is cleaning her large intestine with wood ash. The odor is caused by the dirty air inside. Once it's cleaned, the smell will be much better.

"Anji, do you believe your mother?" Yuan Doudou looked at her son tenderly, trying to gain his trust.

Anji thought about it seriously for a while. Deep down, he was willing to believe his mother. Since his mother brought back this smelly thing, she must have a way to make it less smelly.

“Yes, Angie believes in Mother.” Angie mustered her courage and nodded solemnly.

"That's right, you can go play over there and wait to eat." Yuan Doudou didn't want her son to keep smelling that smell, lest he lose his appetite later.

A strong stench permeated the air, and even the Li family next door, who were eating in the yard, could smell it.

"Eldest daughter-in-law, do you think Er Mao has diarrhea?" Li Su asked, sniffling.

Li Da's wife, Lin, picked up Er Mao from the stroller, opened the back pocket, and found it clean inside.

"No, he didn't poop." Mrs. Lin put her son in the car and continued eating.

Su's nose was sharp, and the strong stench made it impossible for her to eat.

"This is weird. Er Mao didn't poop, so where did this smell of poop come from?" Madam Su put down her chopsticks, her face dark.

"What's with the fuss? Someone must have been carrying manure and scattering it on the ground." Old Li has a sensitive nose and can't smell any stench at all, so he eats his food heartily.

The more Su looked at it, the more upset she became. No, she had to find the source of the stench.

She went outside and followed the smell to Yuan Doudou's door. The door was ajar, so she went closer and the stench became even stronger.

"DouDou, are you taking out poop?" Su was dumbfounded.

Yuan Doudou was startled and looked up to see that it was Aunt Li.

"I'm washing pig offal." Yuan Doudou grabbed a large intestine, held it high, and showed it to Aunt Li.

"What do you mean by 'scooping poop'?" Yuan Doudou was speechless.

"That's just scooping out poop. No wonder it smells so bad. Why are you messing around with this stuff? It's inedible and inedible." Aunt Li covered her nose and kept her distance.

"Aunt Li, just wait. Once I've made it, I'll send it to you to try. You'll know what pig offal tastes like then." Yuan Doudou has a particular fondness for these smelly things. Since coming here, she hasn't had a single meal of pig intestines or a single serving of snail rice noodles, and she's been feeling quite melancholy.

Aunt Li waved her hand dismissively, "Thank you, but you can eat it yourself. I can't accept that."

Watching Aunt Li run away, Yuan Doudou shook her head helplessly.

After much effort, the large intestine was finally cleaned. She poured all the wastewater into the vegetable garden, nourishing the earth.

Add water to a pot, put in the cleaned pig intestines, add the three-piece deodorizing kit, bring to a boil over high heat, skim off the foam, cook for a while longer, then take them out and rinse with cold water.

Clean the pot, add clean water, and put in spices such as cinnamon, star anise, and bay leaves. Put in the blanched large intestine, bring to a boil over high heat, and then simmer over low heat.

The rice was ready, and Yuan Doudou picked a tomato and made a tomato and egg stir-fry.

"Anji, time to eat."

Anji ran over and saw that there was only scrambled eggs with tomatoes on the table. He wondered where the smelly stuff had gone.

"It's not ready yet, no rush, we'll eat it tonight."

Yuan Doudou put the rice on a plate, poured on scrambled eggs with tomatoes, and the rice bowl was ready.

"Eat with a spoon."

Angie took the spoon, scooped up a large spoonful of food and rice, and stuffed his mouth full.

"Mmm, it's so delicious!" Angie exclaimed happily.

Seeing that he liked the food, Yuan Doudou planned to make more rice bowls in the future, so that they could be mixed together and eaten together, which would stimulate his appetite and encourage him to eat more.

"Mommy, I smell a fragrance, can you smell it?" Angie looked up and sniffed hard; it really smelled wonderful.

Yuan Doudou smelled the aroma of braised large intestine early in the morning, but it wasn't ready yet, so she couldn't serve it.

Soon, the fragrance wafted to the neighbors, and Aunt Li next door smelled it.

No way, is this what DouDou's offal tastes like?

"Mom, why do I smell something delicious? Is my nose broken?" Li Da wrinkled his nose and sniffed around.

Aunt Li wanted to confirm her guess, so she put down her needlework and went to Yuan Doudou's house.

Yuan Doudou was washing dishes in the kitchen after finishing her meal when she heard a knock on the door.

I rushed to open the door, and there was Aunt Li again.

"Aunt Li, what brings you here?" she asked, puzzled. Aunt Li rarely came to her house. What was wrong with her today?

"DouDou, I smell something delicious and wanted to ask if it smells like pig offal." She just wanted to confirm.

"Yeah, how is it? Doesn't it smell amazing?" Yuan Doudou couldn't help but show a smug expression. Little brat, I knew this smell would seduce you.

Aunt Li was unwilling to admit it, and couldn't help but swallow, "It's alright, it doesn't smell that good."

"Really? I was thinking of making some for Auntie to try. If you don't like it, then forget it." Yuan Doudou pretended to be helpless and even sighed.

Seeing her turn to leave, Aunt Li said, "Hey, Dou Dou, actually I wanted to try it, just a little bit."

She hadn't eaten well at noon, and now she was hungry.

"Okay, come in with me."

Yuan Doudou led her into the kitchen, lifted the pot lid, and a fragrant aroma wafted out.

"It smells so good."

She was eager to take a bite, watching as Yuan Doudou slowly picked up a large intestine with her chopsticks, placed it on the cutting board, and easily cut it into sections with a knife, then put it on a plate.

"Try it," Yuan Doudou said confidently.

This recipe is exclusive to a five-star hotel chef, and she copied it exactly, resulting in an exceptional taste.

Aunt Li pinched a piece with her hand, hesitated for a moment, and then put it in her mouth. She chewed it carefully. The texture was soft yet chewy, and the taste was indescribable. It had smelled incredibly foul before, but now it tasted delicious.

She finished one piece, still wanting more.

"DouDou, how did you do that? This is so delicious!" Aunt Li couldn't resist taking another one.

"If you like it, Auntie, this plate is yours." She couldn't possibly give her the recipe; she still needed it to make money.

Aunt Li took the plate, looking a little reserved. "I'm so sorry."

Yuan Doudou put in a lot of effort and added a lot of interesting information; we can't just accept it for nothing.

"It's alright, take it and eat it. We all live together, no need to be so polite." A close neighbor is worse than a distant relative. It never hurts to be nice to your neighbors when you have nothing to do.

Aunt Li walked away with a smile, carrying the plate, and bumped into Zhuang Shuhui as soon as she stepped out the door.

"What's in your plate? It's all black, but it smells strangely good."

Aunt Li and Zhuang Shuhui didn't get along. Aunt Li rolled her eyes and left.

"Hey, what's with your attitude? What's with the arrogance?" Zhuang Shuhui grumbled from behind.
