Meng Zeyan obediently sat in the back seat, "Mom is not the same as before. You can come and see me anytime you want. You can stay for a while."
Xing Cui agreed readily: "I'll go when Xiao Huan has winter vacation."
“······” Tang Huan stood behind her mother-in-law and wondered what it meant that she was on winter vacation?
Are you planning to take her with you?
She won't go!
"Okay, you guys go back! I'm leaving." Meng Zeyan nodded and patted the back of the front seat.
Xu Qian understood and started the car quickly. The alley here was not wide, so the car had to back out of the alley.
Reluctant to leave her son behind, the car backed up a bit and Xing Cui followed a little.
Tang Huan couldn't turn around and go home by herself, so she followed her mother-in-law out.
Meng Zeyan sat in the car, looking out the window with a smile. Xing Cui waved to him, and Tang Huan waved back.
On the seat next to him was the bag with the photo frame. When he placed his right hand on the bag, he seemed to be able to feel the shape of the photo frame.
The car backed out of the alley and turned right.
Meng Zeyan waved at the two of them and said, "Go back."
The car drove away and the glass on the window slowly rose.
Tang Huan walked back holding her mother-in-law's arm. Fearing that she was sad, he counseled her: "Now that we have a phone at home, it's very convenient to contact us. I'll teach you how to use it later."
She wasn't too sad, but sadness was inevitable. Xing Cui nodded, "Okay, let's give him a call in two hours or so to see if he's arrived yet."
"OK!"
After coming back from outside, Tang Huan did not go back into the house. The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law sat on the sofa in the main room watching TV and waited for two hours before calling.
"The Legend of the Condor Heroes" was playing on TV. Tang Huan had never seen such an old movie. Although the costumes and makeup were not as exquisite as those in later movies, the actors' acting skills were really amazing.
More than two hours flashed by in the TV series.
Tang Huan taught her mother-in-law how to dial a number and how to judge whether the other party has answered the call based on the voice in the receiver.
Meng Zeyan left two phone numbers, one for his residence and the other for his office.
After learning how to dial a number, Xing Cui tried it herself and dialed the number of Meng Zeyan's residence.
After only two rings, the person on the other end picked up the phone.
Xing Cui held the receiver and asked her son how the journey was going and how the house he was allocated was going.
After confirming that he had dialed the right number and that the person on the other end was his uncle, Tang Huan sat back on the sofa and continued watching TV. The series started again.
Meng Zeyan patiently answered all the questions Xing Cui had asked one by one. Everything was fine on the road, and the house was a building...
After she was completely relieved, Xing Cui reluctantly hung up the phone and put the receiver back on the phone. This little gadget was pretty good, but she used to think it was useless.
The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law stayed in the house and watched TV series for the whole afternoon. The way of broadcasting at that time was more enjoyable, unlike the TV series in later generations which were broadcast one or two episodes a day.
Meng Qinghe knew that Meng Zeyan was leaving today, so he didn't think it was strange not to see him when he got home from get off work. Instead, he was surprised by the phone he had just installed.
Tang Huan taught her father-in-law the same process she had taught her mother-in-law in the afternoon. Meng Qinghe also called Meng Zeyan to try.
It has been a week since Meng Zeyan came back, which doesn’t seem like a long time, but Tang Huan feels that he has done a lot.
As soon as he left, the house became deserted.
