Chapter 67, No Carrying Back (2/2)

After saying that, he walked to the door to get the basin, looked at the two basins with different flowers and asked Tang Huan: "Which one is for washing feet?"

"Peony flowers." Tang Huan's feet were still numb and were being roasted by the stove.

Xing Cui walked to the stove with the peony basin, picked up the kettle on top and poured water into the basin. "Drink the ginger tea, soak your feet, and get under the covers to warm up for a while. I'll bring you dinner when it's ready."

Xing Cui didn't have to worry about this in the past few years. She gave birth to two boys, each one stronger than the other.

She never cared about things like rain or snow.

If Meng Zeyan hadn't reminded her before leaving, she wouldn't have thought of this.

Girls should be careful, the cold starts from the soles of the feet.

This really wasn't the time to be tough. Tang Huan looked at Comrade Xing Cui and said softly, "Thank you, Mom."

"What is there to thank me for? If I don't love you, who will?" Don't say it, it feels different when you have a daughter acting coquettishly!

Putting the basin of water next to Tang Huan, Xing Cui hurried back to the kitchen to cook.

Tang Huan held the cup of ginger tea in his arms, and the scorching heat slowly seeped through his clothes and flowed onto his body.

As I take a sip of ginger tea, the warmth flows down my throat into my stomach, giving me a feeling of being revived.

When his feet regained feeling, Tang Huan took off his socks and soaked his feet in water.

Finally, the coldness on my body completely dissipated.

After warming up all over, Tang Huan took off his down jacket, scarf and hat, and got into bed.

In her heart, she kept blaming herself for agreeing to let Meng Zeyan go to the military family building, but she couldn't suppress the smile.

After walking in the snow for so long, I felt sleepy soon after lying down.

She was woken up by the knock on the door again, and Xing Cui came to bring her food.

Tang Huan sat up from the bed and went to open the door. After just a few steps, he couldn't stop coughing.

Her cough seemed to be getting worse, and her throat was itchy and uncomfortable.

As soon as she entered the room, she saw Tang Huan's red little face. Xing Cui quickly put down her bowl and chopsticks and reached out to touch her forehead.

As soon as she touched it, the temperature was scorching hot. Xing Cui was anxious, "Why do you have a fever?"

Tang Huan reached out and touched her forehead, but couldn't feel anything. She didn't feel any discomfort, just a sore throat.

"You eat first. I'll go see if there's any medicine at home to reduce the fever." After instructing Tang Huan, Xing Cui hurried back to find the medicine.

She was indeed hungry, so Tang Huan sat by the stove and ate. She felt warm all over and didn't feel cold at all.

Xing Cui ran back to the main house to look for medicine. She rummaged through the drawers and found a small packet of fever-reducing medicine wrapped in white paper.

It seems like it has been stored for quite a few years, and the white paper has turned a little yellow.

"Is this still drinkable?" Xing Cui muttered to herself uncertainly while holding the packet of fever-reducing medicine.

I can't remember when I bought this, but it shouldn't have been in the last two years.

Meng Zeyan returned to his room after dinner and saw his mother mumbling to herself in the drawer. Curious, he walked over and asked, "When did you develop this hobby of chanting scriptures?"

It’s already this late, and he’s still in the mood to joke!

Xing Cui glared at him, holding the medicine bag in her hand and asked him, "Xiao Huan has a fever, and I'm looking for some medicine to reduce her fever! Do you think this medicine is still safe to drink?"

Seeing the medicine in the old lady's hand, which she had bought at some unknown time, Meng Zeyan shook his head and said, "She must not drink it anymore. Throw it away! I'll take her to the hospital."

Don't be seriously ill, or you will get worse by taking expired medicine.

Xing Cui anxiously pushed Meng Zeyan, urging him, "Then pack up quickly and carry Xiao Huan on your back. I feel like she's got a pretty bad burn." This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
