Chapter 85, Staying (1/2)

He didn't seem to be angry at all about her rejection, and seemed... quite happy?

Being glared at, Meng Zeyan restrained himself a little, but he couldn't hide the smile in his eyes.

Even Xing Cui could see it, "Zeyan, what good thing happened to you today? I see you look very happy."

"Nothing." Meng Zeyan grabbed the steering wheel and replied softly, "I'm just happy you're staying here."

When he said that, Xing Cui understood. "You go out early and come back late every day, so your house is empty? It's boring to be alone, isn't it?"

Meng Zeyan nodded and said nothing.

"Now that we are here, mom will make delicious food for you every meal." Xing Cui said excitedly.

Tang Huan, who was sitting in the passenger seat, thought that his mother-in-law was going to start urging Meng Zeyan to get married. This was a great opportunity to tell him the benefits of marriage.

But Comrade Xing Cui just happily talked about the benefits they would get after they went there, and did not mention a word about asking him to get married.

Tang Huan looked back in the rearview mirror. Didn’t her mother-in-law know that Meng Zeyan had someone he liked, so she stopped urging him?

Does she know who it is?

The journey was quite long, and Tang Huan leaned back in his seat, half asleep and half awake, and could hear them talking from time to time.

She also felt it when the car stopped, slowly opened her eyes, pushed open the door and got out.

After getting off the bus, the cold wind blew away all my sleepiness.

It was not too late and it was not completely dark yet. There were adults and children playing in the open space downstairs.

Meng Zeyan walked in front carrying his things, while Tang Huan and Xing Cui followed behind him with their schoolbags.

Passing by the open space, an older sister who was watching the child greeted him with a smile: "Captain Meng, are you going to pick up your family?"

Meng Zeyan continued walking and replied with a smile, "Yes, they will stay here for a while."

The older sister was very kind and said to Xing Cui with a smile, "Auntie, if you need anything at home, just come to me. I live across the street from you. Captain Meng's family never cooks, so who knows what they might be short of!"

"Okay, I'm not polite with what you said~" Xing Cui replied with a smile, looking enviously at the child standing next to the female comrade.

The two followed Meng Zeyan upstairs and into the house.

The room was no different from the last time I came, still cold and monotonous.

But the house is really warm, much warmer than burning a stove at home.

Tang Huan put his schoolbag back to the room he lived in last time, but was stunned when he entered the room.

A lot of new furniture has been added to the small house, including a desk, desk lamp, carpet, a small single sofa, and even a clothes hanger at the door.

The bed sheets and quilt covers are all new, and the curtains are also new.

The little room became full, and every corner was gentle.

Tang Huan put his schoolbag on the desk, took off his thick coat and hung it on the hanger, then walked out of the room.

Her small bag of clothes was placed on the sofa. She walked over, picked up the bag, and went back to the house to hang up the clothes.

When she came out after hanging up the clothes, Meng Zeyan had just returned from the cafeteria with his meal.

It’s getting late, and it’s a bit rushed to go out to buy groceries and cook, so I’ll just eat in the cafeteria first.

He put the lunch box down to the kitchen to get chopsticks, and Tang Huan walked to the dining table.

There was a knock on the door.

Xing Cui was still packing up in the house and had not come out yet. Tang Huan was the only one in the living room. She changed direction and walked over to open the door.

The door opened, and standing at the door was the older sister I had met in the open space downstairs.

Tang Huan stepped aside and said, "Please come in."

The eldest sister had heard that Captain Meng's family had come, but she had never seen them. She hadn't looked closely downstairs just now, but now that she was looking at her face to face, she just thought that this girl was really pretty.
