Chapter 85, Staying (2/2)

"Sister, I'm not going in." He handed the plate in his hand to Tang Huan, "These are the meat buns I steamed tonight. You guys just arrived and there's no way you'd have time to cook. Heat them up first."

Tang Huan didn't know whether to accept it or not. He turned around to look at Meng Zeyan who was walking out of the kitchen with chopsticks and gave him a look for help.

I turned around and thanked my elder sister: "Thank you, it's really troublesome."

There were footsteps behind him, and Meng Zeyan's voice came over: "Sister Wang, I just got food from the cafeteria. If I had known I could taste your cooking, I wouldn't have gone."

"What's the big deal? It's just a two-step walk. Hurry and take it~" Sister Wang said with a smile while looking at Tang Huan. After that, she replied to Meng Zeyan: "It's perfect to eat with the food in the cafeteria. The food in the cafeteria has a strong flavor."

Tang Huan took the buns, and Sister Wang walked back with a smile, "You guys hurry up and eat. I'll pick up the plates tomorrow."

The door here is not closed, so she has arrived home.

I live just across the street, just two steps away.

After closing the door, Tang Huan walked to the dining table with the buns in his hand and asked Meng Zeyan, "Do you want to save them for tomorrow?"

I always feel that it’s not a good idea to put off eating someone’s kindness until tomorrow.

But there were still hot steamed buns on the table that Meng Zeyan had brought back from the cafeteria.

Meng Zeyan suggested: "Eat it while it's still hot, and save the steamed buns for tomorrow."

Hearing this, Tang Huan walked into the kitchen with the buns, and Meng Zeyan followed her into the kitchen.

The kitchen here uses gas. I wonder if she knows how to use it?

Tang Huan really didn't know how to use it. After adding water to the pot and covering it with a lid, she stepped back two steps to make room in front of the gas stove and let Meng Zeyan light it.

The gas stoves at that time were not like the ones later where you could just turn on the gas. You had to open the valve and then light it with fire.

Watching how Meng Zeyan did it, Tang Huan silently remembered that he would need it to boil water or heat food in the future.

Meng Zeyan lowered his head to fiddle with the gas stove and said slowly, "Is there anything missing in the room?"

"No, there are a lot of things added to the room." The things in that room were more complete than what Tang Huan had in the Meng family's house.

After learning how to use the gas stove, Tang Huan turned around and put the buns into the steamer one by one.

"I picked them all myself. The room is too small to fit a lot of things in."

Meng Zeyan never cared much about the furnishings in his home, but when he was buying things for the little house, he felt that the place was too small. Whenever he saw something with a nice style, he would wonder if Xiao Huan would like it.

Turning around, he lifted the lid of the pot, placed the steamer on top, and said softly, "They all look great."

The furniture styles are different from different eras, but every piece in the cottage is in line with Tang Huan's aesthetic taste, and she likes them all.

Then he put the lid on the pot and turned to look at him. "Actually, there's no need to buy any more furniture. We'll be back in half a month."

All that nice looking furniture would go to waste.

Meng Zeyan didn't think it was a waste, and said with a smile: "I can always use it in the future."

Tang Huan didn't know when he meant by "later", but his smile was too seductive.

She looked away, walked past him and left the kitchen.

Xing Cui also packed up her things and came out of the house. She also added two pieces of furniture to her room.

"Xiao Huan, who came just now?"

Tang Huan walked to the dining table and placed the chopsticks. "It was the older sister downstairs who gave me some buns. She lived diagonally across the street."

Xing Cui nodded and said with a smile, "He's a kind-hearted person. Let's stew some pork ribs for lunch tomorrow and send some to their family then."

Neighbors are like this, you come and I go, and only with this kind of interaction can we live in long-term harmony. This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
