The Hua Family Tavern was essentially a family-run business, and Tao Wan's mother understood the gist of it after hearing Hua Manru's explanation. The tavern was entirely supported by the two siblings themselves; it didn't have a storefront, but its business relied heavily on regular customers.
"How did you come up with the idea of selling your wine at our restaurant?" Tao Wanniang asked casually.
"Because we went to so many places, and none of them wanted our wine!" Hua Manru said directly. "They look down on our small workshop's wine. Humph, they don't even know that our Hua family's wine used to be famous."
"Sister, didn't Mother tell you not to talk about the past? Don't scare Manager Tao away," Hua Manlou said from behind, his expression slightly tense.
"What do you know? Manager Tao must have inquired about something before coming here. Manager Tao, am I right?"
Tao Wanniang looked at Hua Manru. The girl's eyes were bright, and she tried her best to appear confident, but her tightly clenched hands betrayed her inner unease.
"Yes, I've inquired about it, but that was more than ten years ago, so it doesn't matter."
