Chapter 105 The Milk Will Come to Pick You Up and Take You Home

Lin Li thought for a moment and continued, "Your brother Hu Zi goes to elementary school right next door. When he gets out of school in the evening, Grandma will come to pick you up and take you home."

When Lin Hu heard that he would be going home that evening, a smile finally appeared on his face.

Grandma will come to pick him and Tiger up to go home tonight, so he won't worry!

The little face nodded quickly.

"Then Tiger and I will wait for Grandma to come and pick us up!"

"good!"

Lin Li took his little hand and walked into the office.

Lin Laosan: Yaoyao is probably worried they won't want him anymore, that's why he's so anxious. Sigh... Lin Laoda and his wife are truly awful!

In the office, another teacher was tidying up the toys.

The table was piled high with building blocks, plastic animals, and plush toys, while children's picture books were neatly arranged on the bookshelf in the corner, with cartoon characters on the covers seemingly grinning at Lin Yao.

Teacher Li took out several forms from the drawer and began to describe the daycare center in detail.

"We have two classes every morning, teaching nursery rhymes, drawing, and playing games. After afternoon naps, there are outdoor activities. We have story time every Wednesday and crafts every Friday..."

As Lin Li listened, she made her own calculations in her mind.

Although the tuition is cheaper than that of primary school, the cost of school uniforms, picture books and stationery is still a considerable amount.

Lin Laosan listened attentively to Teacher Li's introduction, carefully filled out the form, and asked a few questions from time to time.

"Do the children eat here? How's the food?"

"The food at our daycare is very good."

Lin Li and Lin Laosan exchanged a glance and then smiled.

After they filled out the forms, Teacher Li took them to visit the Little Sun Class.

The classroom windows were decorated with small paper cutouts, and a banner that read "Welcome, Children" hung above the blackboard.

Twenty-odd small chairs were arranged in a circle, with several colorful balls scattered on the carpet in the middle.

Lin Yao's gaze was drawn to a large cardboard box in the corner, filled with all sorts of toy cars, and he couldn't help but take a few steps forward.

"Yaoyao, go and say hello to the other children," Lin Li said softly.

Lin Yao hid behind her again.

Just then, a little girl with a bow in her hair ran over, holding a drawing in her hand: "This is a drawing I made, it's for you."

The painting is a crooked blue area with a yellow circle in the middle and small red dots around it.

"This is the sea, the sun, and the little flowers," the little girl proudly introduced.

Lin Yao slowly peeked out, took the painting, and whispered "thank you."

This was the first time he had spoken to anyone since entering the nursery. Lin Li and Lin Laosan exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with relief.

Taking the opportunity, Teacher Li said, "Lin Yao, do you want to play with the other children? We're playing house right now."

Encouraged by the teacher, Lin Yao finally let go of Lin Li's hand and followed the little girl to the toy area.

Several children gathered around him, enthusiastically inviting him to play the role of "dad," and handing him a plastic spatula and a toy bowl.

Seeing Lin Yao gradually integrate into the group, Lin Li's smile deepened.

"The child may not adapt well at first, but don't worry, we will take good care of him."

Teacher Li comforted her, "School ends at 4:30 in the afternoon, remember to pick me up on time."

As they left the nursery, Lin Li and Lin Laosan walked with much easier steps than when they arrived.

"Do you think Yaoyao can really get used to it?" Lin Laosan asked somewhat nervously.

Lin Li was silent for a moment, then said, "Our Yaoyao is no worse than anyone else, don't worry!"

They walked slowly along the street, passing a grocery store with colorful candies displayed in the window.

Lin Laosan stopped, hesitated for a moment, and took out a few yuan: "Let's buy some candy for Hu Zi and Yao Yao. We'll give it to him when we pick him up tonight."

"OK!"

Lin Laosan strode into the grocery store, bought a lot of candy, and happily followed Lin Li home.

"Have you been having fewer classes lately? It seems like you have a lot of free time."

After listening to Lin Li's words, Lin Laosan nodded.

"Some courses have ended, so I have a lot of free time. I'm wondering if I should take more courses."

"Study more! Don't waste such a great learning environment at Tsinghua University!"

After hearing Lin Li's words of support, Lin Laosan immediately felt relieved.

"I'll apply for computer-related courses tomorrow."

"Hmm, this course is good, study hard!"

The mother and son chatted as they walked home.

Lin Hu and Lin Yao's school is not far from home, only a ten-minute walk away.

......

At four o'clock in the afternoon, the two of them arrived at the nursery half an hour early.

Many parents were already standing outside the iron fence, some holding fruit and others carrying newly bought toys.

Lin Li and Lin Laosan stood in the corner, craning their necks to look into the garden.

Finally, the school bell rang, signaling the end of the school term.

The children lined up, tugging at the hem of the clothes of the child in front of them, and wobbled as they walked out.

Lin Yao walked in the middle of the group, his little face dirty and his hair messy, but his eyes were bright and sparkling.

Upon seeing his grandmother and third uncle, he broke free from the teacher's hand and ran over.

"Grandma, Uncle, I drew a picture and built a castle today!"

Lin Laosan picked up his nephew and kissed him on the cheek: "Good boy, are you hungry? Uncle bought you some candy."

Lin Yao took the candy, eagerly tore open the packaging, and popped it into his mouth. The sweet taste made his eyes crinkle with joy.

"Let's go, we still need to pick up Hu Zi!"

The four o'clock sunlight slanted across the red brick wall of Guangming Primary School, making the four gilded characters "Guangming Primary School" shine even brighter.

Lin Li and Lin Laosan held hands with Lin Yao, who had just been picked up from the affiliated kindergarten, and stood under the sycamore tree at the entrance of the primary school.

A gentle breeze swept through the treetops, and a few yellowed leaves twirled and landed on Lin Yao's shoulder. He reached out to grab them, but missed, which made the third brother Lin's lips curl into a slight smile.

Parents had already gathered at the school gate to pick up their children. Most of the women were wearing navy blue or gray cotton shirts and simple headscarves; the men were wearing Zhongshan suits or work pants, with snacks they had bought especially for their children hanging on their bicycle handlebars.

"Third Uncle, why hasn't Brother Tiger come out yet?"

Lin Yao looked up at the closed school gate with longing eyes.

He was still wearing the light blue smock issued by the kindergarten, with some food juice smeared on his chest from eating.

Lin Laosan raised his hand and looked at his watch: "It'll be soon, just wait a little longer."

Finally, the school bell rang.

"The bell is ringing, your brother Tiger will be out soon!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Yao's small body bounced around, his eyes sparkling as he watched the school gate slowly open.

Seeing his impatient look, Lin Laosan laughed and picked him up.

"Your third uncle will carry you, don't rush!"

Lin Yao patted Lin Laosan on the shoulder, his eyes constantly searching for Lin Hu's figure among the students who came out.

Her little mouth kept chattering: "This isn't Brother Tiger, that one isn't either..."
