Chapter 138 Their First Airplane Ride

The next day.

The group got up early in the morning and then prepared their own things to take to the port city.

The group bustled around in the yard, while Lin Li sat leisurely in a rocking chair, watching them run around while eating fruit.

"Grandma, what should I bring with me?"

Lin Yao watched as Lin Hu and Lin Laosan busied themselves, packing up a huge pile of things.

He came over carrying a small tiger plush toy, sat down next to Lin Li, and asked with a blank look on his face.

"You don't need to bring anything, just bring yourself!"

"Really? Then why did Tiger and Uncle Three pack such a huge pile of stuff?"

"Oh! That's because they have so much energy they can't release it..."

Lin Hu, who was packing clothes: ...

Lin Laosan, tidying up the books: ...

The two exchanged a glance, looked at the two large bags of things they had packed, and silently looked away.

He stood up and walked to Lin Li's side.

"Grandma, you don't need to bring anything?"

"You need to bring your homework..."

Lin Hu; ...

"Mom, what about me?"

Do you have winter break homework?

He shook his head blankly.

"Then you don't need to bring it."

After saying that, she took Lin Yao's hand and led him into the bedroom.

Even though the sun shines in winter, it's still cold when the wind blows.

Although they all possessed internal energy and were not particularly afraid of the cold.

But she was still afraid that the wind would wrinkle her skin.

She's already 47 years old; time really does age you!

Maintenance is essential and should not be neglected.

Lin Laosan and the two little ones spent the day in a state of excitement.

The excitement lasted until the next morning.

The three of them barely slept all night.

The three faces had dark circles under their eyes.

Lin Li chuckled and took out a bowl of spiritual spring water to refresh them.

Then, traveling light, we took them to a pre-arranged taxi and headed to the Capital Airport.

In the depths of winter in Beijing in 1986, the cold air, carrying fine snowflakes, stung her face, and Lin Li tightened her scarf even more.

"Mom, please slow down."

Lin Laosan quickly supported her arm; the cuffs of his newly made dark blue Zhongshan suit were already damp with snow.

"Yaoyao, Huzi, stay close!"

The two little ones immediately ran up and took the hands of Lin Laosan and Lin Li.

"Grandma, isn't an airplane much faster than a train?"

Lin Li smiled, and fine lines appeared at the corners of her eyes. She reached out and adjusted the collar of her grandson's cotton coat.

"Much faster, it will only take a little over three hours to get there."

"You arrived in just over three hours? That's really fast."

After hearing this, Lin Laosan also calculated the time.

He used to have to take a day and a night by train to get from Shenzhen back to Beijing, but now it only takes a little over three hours by plane.

He looked up at the four large red characters "China Civil Aviation" on the roof of the terminal building in the distance and smiled broadly.

The waiting hall was warm and cozy, filled with the smells of disinfectant and orange soda.

Lin Li led the group to the check-in counter with familiarity, where an enamel sign in the glass cabinet read "International Flight Passenger Channel".

A red banner hanging nearby read, "Warmly send off travelers visiting relatives in Hong Kong."

The ground staff girl in the navy blue uniform took the ID card from Lin Li, examined it carefully, and a hint of envy flashed in her eyes.

"Comrade, is this your third trip to Hong Kong to visit relatives?"

The ground staff carefully checked the photos, her pen scratching as she wrote on the registration form.

"That's right, this time I'm taking my son and grandsons to see it."

As Lin Li spoke, she took out a metal tag tied with a red string from her handbag.

"Is this still usable?"

That was the priority pass I received last year when I came to the airport with Mr. Yu.

The ground staff girl smiled and nodded: "Of course it can be used. Please come with me over here to complete the formalities."

As Lin Laosan watched Lin Li skillfully answer various questions and even write down the Hong Kong address on the luggage tag, he stood up exceptionally straight.

He quietly tugged at Lin Hu's sleeve, only to see Lin Hu staring wide-eyed at the flight schedule on the wall.

The electronic screen, flashing green numbers on and off, looked particularly novel in the hall filled with enamel signs.

Upon arriving at the security checkpoint, Lin Li reminded everyone to take out all their metal jewelry.

The group passed through security smoothly.

We arrived at the departure lounge.

The benches in the waiting area are covered with polished artificial leather.

Lin Li asked the third son to watch the luggage while she took the children to get water.

The wall clock ticked, pointing to 9:30 a.m.

She gazed out the window at the silver passenger plane being towed by a tractor, its wings gleaming coldly in the snow.

"Grandma, is this the plane we're going to take?"

Lin Yao pressed himself against the glass, his eyes wide open and sparkling.

"Yes, this is the plane we'll be on in a little while."

Lin Li stood next to Lin Yao and took a sip of the warm water from the thermos.

"It's huge!"

"It really is huge!"

The sighs of Lin Hu and Lin Laosan came from beside him.

Lin Laosan dragged his suitcase to the glass and kept looking out the window at the planes coming and going.

"Grandma, are the buildings in Hong Kong really denser than telephone poles?"

Lin Hu held the enamel cup, the steam blurring his eyelashes.

Lin Li wiped the water droplets from her grandson's nose with her fingertips.

"It's very dense; when the lights come on at night, it looks like a sky full of stars."

"real?"

The three people looked at her with bright, expectant eyes.

"You'll see it tonight!"
