Chapter 91 Transferring Schools

"Grandma, I'm not afraid, I'm really not afraid! Tiger isn't in pain either, Grandma, please stop crying!"

Lin Hu grasped Lin Yu's left hand with his hand wrapped in gauze, a smile playing at the corners of his eyes.

“My dear child, after we finish dealing with things here and you recover from your injuries, you will come to Beijing with your grandma. From now on, you will no longer have a mother or maternal grandmother, only your grandma and your third uncle.”

"Mmm~~~"

Lin Hu's eyes shone brightly; he could finally leave that hellish home.

Two days later, Lin Li took the written letter of severing ties with her family and walked to the entrance of the police station.

Pushing open the weathered wooden door, the old-fashioned wall clock in the duty room points to eight o'clock.

The young police officer in the blue uniform looked up, saw it was her, and quickly stood up.

"Aunt Lin, what brings you here?"

"I want to see them."

Lin Li's voice was calm and firm, her nails digging deeply into the brown paper bag.

"I'm going to make them sign this so they won't harm Tiger anymore."

The police officer looked troubled: "Well... according to procedure, we can't arrange visits arbitrarily at this stage..."

"I'm not here to visit!"

Lin Li suddenly raised her voice, causing the tea leaves in the enamel mug on the table to shake.

"I am Tiger's biological grandmother, and I want them to sever all ties with Tiger!"

She took out the letter severing ties with the family and handed it over.

Just as the standoff was reaching its conclusion, Officer Zhang arrived after hearing the commotion.

He looked at Lin Li's resolute eyes and sighed.

"Okay, I'll go with you. But we can only talk for ten minutes, and it must be under surveillance."

"good!"

Lin Li nodded.

Officer Zhang sighed and led Lin Li inside.

In the interrogation room, three figures huddled on plastic chairs. Lin Xiu'e's hair hung messily over her face, Wang Daqiang stared down at his canvas shoes, and Zhou Guilan muttered something under her breath.

As Lin Li stepped into the room, the cold air instantly enveloped her slender body.

"Lin Xiu'e!"

Lin Li looked at her with a cold gaze, her voice filled with anger.

"You're inhuman! He's your own son!"

She slammed the letter severing ties on the table.

"Sign it, and don't ever come looking for Tiger again!"

Lin Xiu'e slowly raised her head, her eyes terrifyingly empty.

"Mom, why did you have to..."

"I'm not your mother!"

Lin Li interrupted her pleas directly, "Enough with the nonsense, just sign it."

Lin Xiu'e glanced at the letter severing ties on the table, lowered her head, and remained silent.

Lin Li trembled with anger at her silent demeanor.

"When you whipped him with the belt, did you ever think about how you carried him for ten months? When you pressed his hand against the coal stove, did you have any conscience?"

Her voice grew louder and louder, so loud that the incandescent light bulb in the interrogation room swayed slightly.

Wang Daqiang suddenly chuckled.

"Old woman, stop pretending to be a good person. If you had intervened more back then, would things have turned out this way?"

Before she could finish speaking, Lin Li grabbed an enamel mug from the table and smashed it against the iron railing with a piercing sound.

"Why should I care? She's Lin Hu's own mother. He used to cherish her like the apple of his eye, but now she's become so cruel?"

She concentrated her inner strength between her fingers and flicked them three times, sending each of them into the bodies of the three men.

This trace of internal energy will slowly damage the meridians of the three of them; they must also experience the suffering that Tiger had endured.

Otherwise, if she let them off so easily, Lin Li felt she would get so angry that she would develop breast hyperplasia.

"I thought you guys would treat Tiger well, but..."

Zhou Guilan suddenly jumped up, making the iron chains rattle.

"It was just a few blows, wasn't it? Everyone in our generation grew up fighting!"

How many times?

Lin Li took out several photos from her pocket.

That's what Tiger looked like lying in the hospital bed, covered in wounds.

The interrogation room fell into dead silence the moment the photograph was unfolded in front of everyone.

"This is your own grandson, how could you do this to him!"

Lin Li's voice suddenly became unusually calm, but her anger was even more intense.

"Sign it, and just pretend Tiger never had any relatives like you."

Officer Zhang stepped forward and said sternly.

"According to legal procedures, although severing ties is not legally binding, if you sign the statement, you will lose your right to assert your rights in matters such as guardianship."

His gaze swept over the three of them. "Think it through."

Lin Xiu'e stared at the photo, then suddenly covered her face and burst into tears.

Wang Daqiang turned his face away and muttered, "Sign it or not, anyway..."

Zhou Guilan stared intently at Lin Li for a long while before letting out a cold laugh.

"You think you can protect him like this? Wait until we get out..."

"You're not getting out!"

Lin Li shook her head and sneered.

"Even if it costs me my life, I'll make sure you rot in jail!"

Ten minutes passed quickly, and Officer Zhang urged them to leave.

Lin Li stood at the door, watching Lin Xiu'e sign her name on the severance agreement with trembling hands, and Wang Daqiang and Zhou Guilan also pressed their fingerprints one after another.

The moment the paper was passed to her, she felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from her heart.

When they returned to the hospital, Tiger was fast asleep.

Lin Li sat gently on the edge of the bed, touching her grandson's little hand wrapped in gauze.

In the police station's archives, this letter severing ties with the family was solemnly filed.

Under the dual nourishment of Lin Li's acupuncture and the spiritual spring water, Lin Hu recovered quickly.

Seeing that his health was gradually recovering, Lin Li prepared to go to Xiangyang Elementary School to apply for his transfer.

Early in the morning, Lin Li slung a canvas bag over her shoulder and put Tiger's medical records and the letter of severance of ties inside.

I walked quickly to the school, registered the purpose of my visit at the reception desk, and then entered the school under the guidance of my eldest son.

In the schoolyard, several children were playing during recess next to a cement ping-pong table. They were wearing blue and white school uniforms and had red scarves tied around their necks.

The wall was covered with the slogan "Study hard and make progress every day," and the blackboard still bore traces of the Spring Festival special edition. Next to the Tiananmen Gate Tower drawn in colored powder, the four words "I love my motherland" were written crookedly.

Following the directions, Lin Li headed towards the Academic Affairs Office.

As she passed the classroom, she saw through the wooden lattice window that the teacher, wearing thick-rimmed glasses, was writing on the blackboard with chalk, chalk dust falling onto the shoulders of his faded Zhongshan suit.

The students sat upright at their wooden desks, the edges of their textbooks were curled and rough, and their pencil cases were tin boxes printed with Transformers patterns.

After walking past several classrooms, I finally saw the wooden sign for the Academic Affairs Office at the very back of the building.

The door to the academic affairs office was ajar. Lin Li raised her hand and knocked, hearing the clattering sound of an abacus coming from inside.

"Please come in!"

A young female teacher wearing an armband and with her hair in braids looked up. On the desk in front of her were a tin thermos and an enamel mug with the words "Serve the People" printed on it.

"Teacher, I am Lin Hu's grandmother."

Lin Li took out the ingredients from the bread roll.

"I want to transfer Tiger to another school and take him to study in Beijing."

The female teacher paused for a moment, adjusted her glasses, and took the materials to look through them.

"Transfer schools? Lin Hu hasn't been coming to class much lately..."

Her gaze swept over the shocking diagnosis records on the medical record, and her expression gradually became serious.
