Chapter 94 Lin Yao

After delivering the goods and checking on the progress of the garment factory, Lin Li reiterated to the village chief the matter of Grandpa Wang coming to the factory to work as a warehouse manager before leading Lin Hu back to the Lin family's old house.

Lin Hu and Lin Li walked into the courtyard after opening the gate.

He remembered that when he was a child, before his father was imprisoned, he always said that his grandmother favored his third uncle.

All the good things were left to the third uncle, who was also Grandma's biological son, but he didn't get anything.

That was what he originally thought too.

But after what happened in the past two years, he understood.

It's not that Grandma is biased; it's that Dad, Uncle, Younger Uncle, and Aunt went too far.

He heard from more than one person how badly they treated his grandmother and how particularly unfilial they were.

So when his maternal grandmother and mother kept threatening him to beg his paternal grandmother, he refused.

Grandma was not wrong; it was Dad and the others who were wrong.

He was very happy that his grandmother had finally forgiven him and was willing to live with him.

He would never be like his father, disrespectful to his grandmother.

"Tiger, you'll be sleeping in your third uncle's room tonight."

As soon as Lin Li returned to the courtyard, she quickly went to Lin Laosan's room. Looking at the relatively clean and tidy room, she was about to change the bedding when Lin Hu came over.

"Grandma, don't change it, we're only staying one night."

Upon hearing his words, Lin Li also stopped what she was doing.

That's right, it's just for one night, so we can make do!

"Alright."

Suddenly, Lin Li tapped her head. She had taken out food from her spatial storage and realized she was used to eating out. She had forgotten to buy dinner in town, as well as food for the train tomorrow.

"Tiger, Grandma's going out to buy some things. You stay home and rest, okay?"

"Okay, Grandma! You go ahead and buy it. I'll take good care of myself!"

Lin Li patted his head, smiled, and left.

She wanted to observe Lin Hu for a while longer before telling him about the space issue.

It's not that she's being overly cautious; the main reason is that she's only been with Lin Hu for less than a month, and she really doesn't know what kind of person he is.

I ran back to town and bought dinner, breakfast for tomorrow morning, and food for the train, carrying all those bags home.

As soon as I pushed open the gate, I saw Lin Hu cleaning the yard.

No one had lived there for several months, and the yard was covered in dust and fallen leaves.

"Grandma, you're back?"

Lin Hu's eyes lit up as he watched Lin Li's figure.

"We have cleaned Grandma's room and Uncle's room, and the yard will be cleaned soon too."

"us?"

Lin Li placed the food on the table in the main room and looked at Lin Hu, who was covered in sweat.

Lin Hu realized he had let something slip when he heard Lin Li's question. He lowered his head, walked up to her, and admitted his mistake.

"I'm sorry, Grandma, I let Lin Yao in to help without your permission."

Lin Yao is the eldest son of Lin Laoda, only two years younger than Lin Hu, and is only six years old this year.

"Oh? Where is he?"

Lin Hu pointed to the area behind him.

He must have heard his grandmother's voice coming back, so he climbed back through the dog hole.

"Climbing through a dog hole?"

"Hmm... He used to often crawl in through the dog hole to clean the yard..."

After speaking, Lin Hu secretly glanced at Lin Li.

His only friend here is Lin Yao.

Although he was small in stature, he was very strong and often helped him beat up the children who bullied him.

She would also bring over any delicious food to share with him.

The two would often climb through the dog hole into the old house to clean, and then sit in the yard looking at the sky and chatting.

Lin Yao was his only concern here.

Lin Li listened as Lin Hu recounted his past with Lin Yao.

Unexpectedly, the two brothers, Lin Lao Da and Lin Lao Er, were sworn enemies, yet their children were such good friends.

"Does he know you're coming to Beijing with me?"

Lin Hu nodded, his eyes reddening again, a pang of sorrow rising in his heart.

The two brothers just had a good cry.

Lin Li looked at Lin Hu's red eyes and nose, then turned her head away.

"Did his parents know he ran over here?"

Lin Hu sniffled and shook his head.

His parents went to work in the south after the Chinese New Year. Now he's all alone at home...

"Is he home alone?"

Lin Li's eyes widened. Only a five-year-old child was left at home?

"His parents asked a neighbor to take care of him before they left, saying they would send them 100 yuan every month..."

Seeing Lin Hu's hesitant expression, Lin Li pulled him to her side and looked at him.

Tell Grandma everything in detail.

Upon hearing this, Lin Hu immediately threw himself into Lin Li's arms, crying and speaking at the same time.

"Grandma, can we take Lin Yao with us? His parents don't want him anymore. The neighbor who's been taking care of him said his parents haven't sent money back for two months, and if they don't send money back this month, he won't take care of him anymore. But he's only five years old!"

They're a bunch of beasts; they don't care for their own mothers, and they don't care for their own children either.

Lin Li was so angry that her teeth itched. How could there be such selfish people in the world?

"Where has he been eating these past two months?"

Lin Hu's shoulders, which were trembling violently from crying, paused slightly. He pulled away from Lin Li's embrace and sobbed as he spoke.

"The neighbors still take care of him out of respect for my grandmother, but he's afraid to eat much and is often hungry. I have some living expenses given to me by my grandmother and third uncle, and with that money, we can eat a little more..."

But what will happen to Lin Yao once he goes to Beijing with his grandmother?

“Come on, take Grandma to find him.”

Lin Li took Lin Hu's hand and walked out of the courtyard.

The Lin couple are doing something inhumane; they even used her reputation to ask the neighbors for help. She has to deal with this matter too.

Otherwise, the consequences will be endless.

When Lin Hu heard his grandmother say that they were going to Lin Yao's house, he happily pulled Lin Li along and headed towards the direction of Old Master Lin's house.

"Grandma, I know where he is! I'll take you there."

Following Lin Hu to the back mountain of the village, we saw a small figure squatting on the ground digging for wild vegetables.

The little hands were cut by grass and mud, and some parts were bleeding.

After looking at Lin Yao, Lin Hu released Lin Li's hand and ran towards the small figure.

"Lin Yao, why are you here digging for wild vegetables again? Didn't I tell you you can't do it?"

"Brother Tiger?"

Lin Hu pulled Lin Yao up, gently touched the wound caused by the grass, and blew on it lightly.

Does it hurt?

Lin Yao smiled at Lin Hu, "Brother Hu, it won't hurt if you blow on it."

Looking at the little child with injuries on his hands and a smile on his face, Lin Li felt a pang of sadness in her heart.

He's only five years old!

They already know to go dig for wild vegetables to eat!

Lin Laoda and his wife are truly inhuman; they are utterly despicable.
