It is said that a child will resemble whoever they see first.
If it were a girl, she would definitely let the doctor hold her up for her to see first.
If it were her son, she hoped that the first person he would see would be Qin Huai.
"I'll send the nurse out to check, and I'll let you know when she gets back."
"Ah!" Qiao Qiqi screamed in pain.
After three hours of production, a loud sound finally broke the silence of the house.
"It's a little girl, so pink and tender. I've delivered so many babies, but I've never seen a baby this cute from birth."
"The mother has good genes; this child looks exactly like her mother."
Qiao Qiqi vaguely heard the doctors' conversation, forced herself to open her eyes, and weakly said, "Doctor, please take a look at me first."
Soon, the doctor brought a pink baby to Qiao Qiqi.
Qiao Qiqi couldn't wait to look over, but when she saw the child's wrinkled face, she immediately closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
When I opened my eyes again, I was already in the hospital room.
Beside him, a tall man, covered in mud, sat upright, his eyes curiously peering at the small bed next to him...
Qiao Qiqi couldn't help but smile.
The next second, the man suddenly turned to look at her, and almost immediately stood up. "You're awake. How are you feeling?"
"It's okay, just a little weak."
After a good night's sleep, Qiao Qiqi regained a lot of her strength, but it was still a tough battle, and she couldn't recover all of it in one nap.
She was still thinking about the clown boy she had seen before she fell into a coma, and couldn't help but say, "Bring the child over here so I can see him."
Qin Huai glanced at the mud on his clothes. He had run straight from the training field without having had time to change...
"It's alright, the baby has a small blanket, he won't get dirty," Qiao Qiqi said with a smile, seeing his concern.
Qin Huai then mustered his courage, gently picked up the child, and placed him next to Qiao Qiqi.
The baby was now clean and looked much better than when he was first born.
Seeing this, Qiao Qiqi finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She said, "How could my child be so ugly!"
It must have been a hallucination he had before because he was not fully conscious.
At this moment, Qiao Qiqi finally felt relieved. She reached out and touched the child's delicate face, and couldn't help but smile, "She's so cute, and her skin is even whiter than mine."
Qin Huai also looked at the child, "My aunt said that many children are born fair-skinned, but become darker as they grow up, so she probably won't be as fair as you."
"Really?" Qiao Qiqi had never heard of this saying before.
Qin Huai added, "She has small double eyelids, and Grandma said they probably aren't as pretty as yours."
Qiao Qiqi frowned and carefully observed her daughter. "It really is." Qin Huai has double eyelids, and it seems that her daughter's eyes are like his.
However, Qiao Qiqi also liked Qin Huai's eyes, so she was satisfied.
Qin Huai then said, "This child's hair isn't as good as yours; it's a bit sparse."
Qiao Qiqi: "..."
Qiao Qiqi finally realized something was wrong. Seeing that Qin Huai's eyes were full of criticism of his daughter, and that he hadn't said a single good thing about her, she immediately became unhappy.
"You don't actually prefer boys to girls, do you?" She thought of this possibility.
Qin Huai was taken aback, then immediately looked up and said, "How could that be? I love all the children you gave birth to."
"Then why do you keep saying bad things about our daughter?"
Just as Qiao Qiqi finished speaking, the door to the ward was suddenly pushed open, revealing Fang's mother, Fang Jingru, and Fang Ke carrying a lot of things.
Upon seeing the three of them arrive, Qin Huai immediately stood up and said, "I'll go change into some clean clothes and come back later."
After saying that, he quickly left.
Qiao Qiqi felt that his attitude was strange, so after Fang's mother sat down, she immediately asked, "Is there anything wrong with Qin Huai? I feel like he's acting weird."
Fang's mother and Fang Jingru exchanged a glance and immediately smiled.
Finally, Fang's mother said, "Qin Huai felt sorry for you. He listened to you screaming in pain outside the delivery room for more than two hours. He was so distressed. When the nurse brought the baby out for him to hold, he refused to hold the baby even once and kept asking about your condition. He was only relieved after he saw you come out."
Fang Jingru added, "Back in the ward, he kept staring at you and wouldn't even hold the baby."
Fang Keya also said, "A woman in labor was about to give birth when she saw her brother-in-law's behavior. She pinched her husband several times, telling him to learn from his brother-in-law."
When Qiao Qiqi learned that Qin Huai disliked her daughter because of this, she couldn't help but smile.
He had just given birth and was still a bit weak, so he fell asleep again after chatting for a short while.
She was able to be discharged the next day.
Qiao Qiqi has to return to the Qin family home for her postpartum confinement, as she promised the old lady when she moved out of the Qin family home.
A group of people returned in a lively atmosphere, and Qiao Qiqi was immediately taken to the bedroom to begin her postpartum confinement period.
While Qin Huai was at home, he busied himself preparing many things for the two of them.
That evening, Qin Huai finally returned to his room.
Qiao Qiqi snuggled into the man's arms and quickly fell asleep.
Then she had a dream.
In her dream, she returned to the modern world and was back with her parents. She was very happy, but she always felt empty inside, as if she had forgotten something.
Qiao Qiqi kept searching for something she had forgotten in her dreams, but she couldn't find it no matter what she did.
She started crying in desperation.
Then I opened my eyes and saw Qin Huai's face.
"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Qin Huai was woken up by Qiao Qiqi's crying.
