Chapter 356 Concealment

The raincoat was very large, and even though she was pregnant and had a big belly, it was still loose on her.

It looks like it was specially found for her.

After going downstairs, Zhu Yaowu reminded her, "The road is slippery, walk slowly, or I will support you."

Ji Ling, "No, I can walk by myself, don't worry."

Although she said it was easy, but since Zhu Yaowu was so nervous, Ji Ling didn't dare to be careless. Fortunately, the raincoat was very big, so she didn't have to rush when walking in the rain.

After walking out of the community and crossing the road, Zhu Yaowu sent Ji Ling to the classroom door and said, "Sister-in-law, go with the people in the dormitory at noon. If there is anything, please ask someone to send a message to me and Heping."

"Okay, you should go to class too." Ji Ling motioned him to rest assured, then she remembered something, "By the way, I called your eldest brother many times last night, but he didn't answer. You can find some time today to call him and ask him how he is doing."

Zhu Yaowu smiled and said, "Don't worry, nothing will happen to my elder brother."

Having said that, I still agreed to make the call.

But after turning around, the smile on Zhu Yaowu's face faded.

His elder brother is in the hospital.

As soon as Zhu Weidong got into trouble, the Zhu family received a call immediately. He was sent to the hospital. After examination, it was found that he had many deep wounds on his body, especially the wounds on his fingers. He could not move without a month of treatment.

But he couldn't leave the construction site, so after waking up in the hospital in the morning, Zhu Weidong did not listen to the advice and left, but remained in the southwest.

He was serious about his work, and his family knew it. Although they knew he was injured, they did not insist on persuading him to come back.

But this matter must be kept secret and Ji Ling must not be allowed to know.

At noon, Zhu Yaowu asked someone to deliver a letter to Ji Ling, saying that Zhu Weidong was working on a project, so he had to work overtime every day and came home late.

Ji Ling was relieved to hear that everyone was fine.

Summer vacation is about to start and it is the end of the semester. Students no longer have to study and attend classes and review in school as usual.

It was June and the weather was getting hot. Ji Ling's belly was big again and she had to go to the toilet more frequently. In order not to have to take leave during classes, she rarely drank water during the day and just sat there all the time, which made her stomach uncomfortable.

That night, she returned to the dormitory and found that her legs were badly swollen. She had to force herself to take off her shoes and it was difficult for her to lift her legs.

Her mother-in-law had told her about these situations, telling her not to be nervous, and to walk around and lie down more, and not to sit for long periods of time.

Ji Ling did not tell anyone about this situation. There was still more than a month until the end of the semester and more than two months before giving birth. She wanted to wait until the end of the semester so as not to miss the exam.

But in the next two days, the situation became more serious. Her feet were so swollen that she couldn't even wear slippers. Ji Ling realized that she couldn't hold on any longer.

So on Thursday afternoon, she asked for leave from school and went home early. She did not go back to the compound directly, but went directly to the hospital to find her mother-in-law. She was afraid that if she forced herself to stay awake for the past few days, it would affect the baby in her belly.

When she arrived at the hospital, she saw Chang Ya talking to a nurse from afar. When she got closer, she noticed that Chang Ya had become darker and thinner. As if she had noticed her gaze, Chang Ya also looked over. When she saw that it was Ji Ling, she was stunned for a moment, turned her head and said something to the nurse, then walked towards Ji Ling.

"Ji Ling, long time no see."

Ji Ling nodded and didn't plan to talk more with Chang Ya, but Chang Ya didn't seem to plan to stop her.

Just as Ji Ling passed by her, Chang Ya's voice came over, "Something happened to Zhu Weidong, and it seems you don't know."

Ji Ling stopped and looked back at her.

Chang Ya covered her mouth, "It seems you really don't know."

"Now I know." Ji Ling glanced at her indifferently and turned to look for her mother-in-law.

Chang Ya was stunned for a moment, looking at Ji Ling's receding back. She slowly put down her hand. She didn't expect that Ji Ling ignored her and left without asking any more questions.

"I didn't say anything." Chang Ya glanced at the young nurse.

The young nurse lowered her head guiltily.

Chang Ya pursed her lips and turned away.

Ji Ling started walking very slowly, and only took bigger steps after she was sure Chang Ya would not stare at her.

How could she not worry if something happened to Zhu Weidong?

When Kong Siya saw Ji Ling coming towards her with a pale face, her eyes paused for a moment, but she greeted her with a smile.

"Is today a holiday?"

"Mom, what happened to Weidong?" Ji Ling said to her grandmother, "I just met Chang Ya, and she asked me if I knew what happened to Weidong."

"This is Chang Ya." After hearing this, Kong Siya helped the man sit on the chair, "Weidong and the others encountered wolves, but they only had some injuries on their bodies. They are fine, otherwise we would have told you long ago."

Ji Ling opened her mouth, but she was actually relieved, "So that's how it is. Chang Ya's look just now really scared me."

"It's okay, it's okay." Kong Siya put the hot water cup in her hand, "If Weidong really had something wrong, we would have told you the first time."

Ji Ling smiled, "I know."

The warmth from the water cup in your hand slowly passes through your hands to every cell in your body.

"Mom, I took a day off today. I noticed my legs were badly swollen a few days ago, so I thought I'd come over for a checkup."

When Kong Siya heard this, she immediately took it seriously and said, "Let me take a look."

As a result, when she pulled up Ji Ling's trouser legs, she saw her swollen legs and her face showed a serious expression.

"It's very swollen. It's because you sat for too long during school. This is very harmful to your body. You can't do this again." Kong Siya put down her trouser legs and said seriously, "Xiaoling, I don't think you are worried about your grades. My suggestion is that you take a leave of absence now and go back when the exam comes."

Ji Ling smiled and said, "Okay, then I'll go to school next week to apply for leave of absence."

"Okay, let Yaowu go with you."

Kong Siya went home early today and returned to the compound with Ji Ling.

Old Mrs. Zhu was very happy when she heard that Ji Ling wanted to take a leave of absence from school. "That's right. You study well, so just read books at home. If you don't understand something, you can find a teacher to come to your home to help you. Now your belly is so big, and we are worried about you at school."

"Grandma, I'm sorry for making you worry."

"It's okay, it's okay." Mrs. Zhu said, "There is no one more sensible than you."

Ji Ling smiled and asked about Zhu Weidong.

Old Mrs. Zhu glanced at her daughter-in-law next to her.

Kong Siya told her about what happened in the hospital.

Old Mrs. Zhu frowned, obviously not hiding what Chang Ya had done, but she didn't say anything, just advised Ji Ling.

"Don't worry. Weidong can take care of himself. If he's not okay, his workplace would have already sent him back. Ask your grandfather to call them and see which phone number he can call to reach Weidong. You can talk to him in person so you don't have to worry about him."

Ji Ling did not refuse. She was afraid that her family was hiding something from her. She would feel at ease if she could talk to Zhu Weidong in person.
