Chapter 101 Members of the Red Star Photo Studio

The Red Star Photo Studio is a well-known time-honored brand in Sang'an County and has been in operation for twenty years.

Although this photo studio looks ordinary from the outside, it is a different story inside.

There was a large counter at the entrance of the first floor, with a calendar and a radio on it. The radio was playing news, but there was a lot of noise, which sounded like noise to Su Nan.

If you walk to the right from the entrance, you can see two large rows of clothes, including Zhongshan suits, army green uniforms, bragi, etc. Going further in, there are red curtains, cameras and other equipment.

In the place where clothes are placed, there is a long sofa, a table and high stools. There is also a large mirror and a few scattered cosmetics on the table. It looks like it is used for customers to put on makeup.

The overall look is very old-fashioned.

After Su Nan followed Jiang Hongqin for a walk, he couldn't help but look at the stairs leading to the second floor.

Jiang Hongqin followed her gaze and looked up the hall, explaining, "That's the darkroom and Master Kong's residence up there. We can't go up there without his permission."

"Master Kong?" Su Nan repeated the name silently and looked at Jiang Hongqin in confusion.

Jiang Hongqin pulled Su Nan to sit on the sofa and began to introduce her to the staff structure of the photo studio.

Originally, there were four people in the photo studio.

Master Kong is the photographer in charge of everyone, responsible for taking and developing photos. He is the oldest, eleven years old this year, has no wife or children, and is devoted to taking photos. He has been working here since the early days of the Red Star Photo Studio and is a real "old man".

Jiang Hongqin is responsible for cleaning and doing odd jobs, and also collects everyone's daily meals from the state-owned restaurant. She is 27 years old and has been working here for a year.

There is also a male colleague, Xia Congjie, who is Master Kong’s apprentice and can be considered Master Kong’s half-son. He is responsible for assisting in taking and developing photos.

In addition, he is also the accountant of the photo studio, responsible for bookkeeping. He is twenty years old and has worked here for a year.

The last one is Wang Yan, but her job now belongs to Su Nan. Wang Yan used to be responsible for registering customer information, introducing clothes to customers, and doing makeup.

However, because Wang Yan's skills are not good, except for those who come to the photo studio for the first time, few other old customers will let Wang Yan do their makeup.

Now that Su Nan is here, it is natural for him to take over Wang Yan's previous work tasks.

After hearing this, Su Nan immediately understood. Makeup? Registering information? Matching clothes? Isn't this simple?

This job was tailor-made for her.

"Master Kong hasn't come down from upstairs yet. As for Xiaoxia, he lives far away and it will probably take a while for him to arrive." Jiang Hongqin spoke enthusiastically to Su Nan.

"Sister Hongqin, thank you for telling me so much, otherwise I would be completely in the dark and don't know what to do." Su Nan's eyes were curved, and a sincere and grateful smile hung on his face.

Jiang Hongqin waved her hand nonchalantly, patted Su Nan's hand, and said briskly: "What's the big deal? We're colleagues from now on, don't be polite to me."

"Okay, do you have anything else left to do? Let me help you?" Su Nan pointed at the broom that Jiang Hongqin had been holding in her hand from the beginning and asked.

"It's okay, I just didn't sweep a little bit. You sit down, I'll be there soon." Jiang Hongqin held Su Nan's shoulders, signaling her not to move, and then she took the broom and swept the floor at the door clean.

Her movements were quick and swift, just as she said, "It will be done right away."

"Hey, where do you live now? Is it far?" Jiang Hongqin put the broom behind the counter and walked over to ask a few more questions.

"I live on Wutong Street, not very far away." Su Nan replied with a faint smile.

"Oh, so that's the case. It's quite close then. I live in Niuwei Alley, which is a different direction from you. Come to my house when you have time." Jiang Hongqin greeted warmly, but not in a way that was offensive.

The tone of voice made Su Nan feel relaxed and comfortable, so he agreed to two.

At this moment, there was a sound of footsteps suddenly coming from the stairs. Su Nan and Jiang Hongqin looked up and saw an old man in a green military coat walking down the stairs.

Her short hair was combed meticulously, and it seemed that hairspray was used, making her look very energetic. Her face was expressionless, and when her eagle eyes looked over, a sense of awe and majesty came over naturally.

"Master Kong, these are the people who came today, Xiao Su, Su Nan." Jiang Hongqin seemed a little afraid of him, and her tone was very cautious, with a hint of respect.

Su Nan quickly nodded and greeted him: "Hello, Master Kong."

Hearing this, Master Kong nodded, glanced up and down at Su Nan, then walked to the counter and poured himself a cup of hot water.

"You should bring a cup here every day. We can boil hot water here, so you don't need to bring it from home. If you want to drink water today, just use my cup. Look, it's the red porcelain cup." Jiang Hongqin pointed to the locker behind the counter.

Because Master Kong didn't close the cabinet door when he took the cup just now, Su Nan could easily see the cups placed inside.

"Okay, thank you." Although Su Nan was a little bit of a germaphobe and wouldn't drink Jiang Hongqin's water, he still wanted to thank her.

"You're welcome."

Hearing Su Nan's words, Jiang Hongqin's smile deepened. She patted Su Nan's shoulder and walked towards the counter.

After a while, a cheerful male voice came from outside the door: "Teacher, is anyone coming to take pictures with Sister Hongqin today? Am I not too late?"

When a person arrives, the sound arrives first.

Su Nan looked over and saw a man about 1.7 meters tall walking in from outside carrying something, with a bright and sunny smile on his face.

Noticing how he addressed him as Master Kong, Su Nan immediately realized that this was the Xia Congjie that Jiang Hongqin had mentioned.

"I saw mung bean cakes being sold at the supply and marketing cooperative on the way. Thinking that my teacher would like to eat them, I bought some. Come and try them while they're hot." Xia Congjie said as he walked in, untying the rope that tied the snack in his hand.

Halfway through the walk, Xia Congjie saw Su Nan who had stood up, and his eyes lit up instantly.

"Who is this?"

"Hello, my name is Su Nan, and I'm a newcomer." Su Nan introduced herself with a smile. God knows, her face was almost frozen from smiling this morning.

"Oh, it's Xiao Su. I knew you were a pretty girl just by hearing your name. Today I see that you are really as good as the reputation you've been told. I've heard you were coming today and was planning to come early to greet you."

"I'm sorry that I was delayed on the road this morning." Xia Congjie put the pastries on the counter and touched the back of his head embarrassedly.

He is a man of great eloquence, with such a stream of witty remarks.

"It's okay, it's okay." Su Nan waved his hand.

"Xiao Su, come here and try this mung bean cake." Jiang Hongqin saw that Master Kong had already eaten two pieces before she dared to reach out and pick up a piece and put it in her mouth.

"Yes, try it quickly." Xia Congjie also called out.

Su Nan nodded slightly, walked past Xia Congjie to the counter, smiled slightly, picked up a piece of mung bean cake, put it in his mouth, and took a small bite.

The mellow aroma of mung beans spread in his mouth, sweet but not greasy, and melted in his mouth. Su Nan couldn't help but nodded and praised: "Delicious."
