In the living room, on the sofa that had been tidied by the hostess, the whole family sat upright, staring at Su Nan who was squatting in front of the bag and looking for something in it.
Su Nan pretended to rummage through her bag, and then, using the bag as a cover, she took out a beautifully packaged gift box from her pocket and placed it on the table in front of the sofa.
"Sister, is this for me?" Su Yang looked at the packaging box happily, rubbing his hands and wanting to take it open to see what was inside.
"No, it's for our mother." Su Nan rejected it without even raising his head.
Su Yang's face fell in disappointment. The packaging box looked very valuable. He thought his sister had a change of heart and was willing to spend a lot of money to buy him a gift, but he didn't expect that it was actually a gift for his mother.
"For me?" Hearing this, Lin Yuemei's face broke into a smile. She pointed at herself and asked again in disbelief.
"Yes, my dear mother, please open it and see if you like it." Su Nan took out a blue box from the space and handed it to Su Qiangguo, saying sweetly: "My dear father, this is the gift I chose for you, please see if you like it."
Su Qiangguo's usually serious face couldn't help but break the ice at this moment. He couldn't help but curl the corners of his lips, coughed lightly and said: "Let me see."
The sound of his wife carefully tearing open the package echoed in Su Yang's ears. He pouted and watched Su Nan rummaging through her bag, but couldn't find his gift. He couldn't help but urge her again: "Sister, where's mine? Hurry up."
Su Nan raised his head from his bag, squinted his eyes, and said, "Why are you in such a hurry? I'm not in a hurry either."
Su Yang choked, poked the buttons on his coat in grievance, and whispered: "I'm not in a hurry, take your time and look for it slowly."
After saying that, she opened her big eyes and watched Su Nan rummaging through the things without blinking. Finally, after a while, she took out a small box from her bag.
Compared with Su Qiangguo and Lin Yuemei's gift packaging, isn't his a little too small?
Su Yang quietly placed the gift box next to Lin Yuemei's hand and compared them. He suddenly felt a sense of imbalance, but having a gift was good enough. He still showed a smile as bright as a sunflower and said to Su Nan, "Thank you, sister."
"You're welcome. Just open it and take a look. I promise you'll like it." Su Nan zipped up the bag, clapped his hands, and gently looked at the three people who were huddled together to open the gifts.
At this moment, a warm feeling of satisfaction welled up in her heart, and she felt that it was a good deal to spend all her savings to buy these gifts.
Lin Yuemei's gift was a set of international brand skin care products and a red scarf.
Su Qiangguo's gift was a box of Jiangbei Province's specialty tea.
The most expensive gift from Su Yang was a Jingqi brand watch.
Su Nan chooses gifts based on the preferences and needs of each person she knows. Even if Lin Yuemei is usually frugal, she will buy a box of cold cream every once in a while, and Su Qiangguo never puts down his teacup.
There is no need to talk about Su Yang. This kid risked his life and kept talking to Su Qiangguo several times, saying that if Su Qiangguo's watch broke, he would give it to him. This made Su's father very angry.
Every time she would chase Su Yang and beat him up, saying that he was a dog with no teeth. Who would want their father's watch to break down soon?
For a moment, the atmosphere in the living room was eerily quiet.
Su Qiangguo and Lin Yuemei looked at each other, feeling delighted, but couldn't help but hesitantly ask, "Nannan, we all like the gifts you gave us, but where did you get so much money?"
"Did you save money in the countryside to buy these things? No wonder you've become so thin due to hunger. Let mom take a look." Lin Yuemei put down the things in her hands and was about to come up and hold Su Nan's hand.
Su Nan was bewildered as Lin Yuemei dragged her around several times. How had she lost weight? Wasn't it because Zhou Rang had fed her that she had become fatter?
"Mom, I'm not frugal. I'm no longer an educated youth in the countryside. I earned all this money by working." Su Nan hurriedly explained.
But seeing their bewildered expressions, Su Nan belatedly said, "Didn't I tell you about this?"
Shake your head in unison.
Su Nan widened her eyes and recalled for a while. She seemed not to have told her family that she went to work in a photo studio.
So Su Nan pulled Lin Yuemei to sit back on the sofa, and then explained the previous and subsequent events again. She described Zhou Rang as a good and enthusiastic "educated youth friend".
When they learned that their daughter no longer had to do farm work in the countryside, but was working in the county town, with a respectable, stable and safe life, the whole family breathed a sigh of relief and wanted to celebrate.
Lin Yuemei hurriedly took the food coupon book and money at home, called Su Yang and went out. Before leaving, she did not forget to remind Su Nan to have a good rest.
Su Nan yawned, and asked Su Qiangguo to boil some hot water for her. Then she took her pajamas and went to the bathroom to take a comfortable hot bath. God knows how uncomfortable it is not to be able to take a shower on the train.
She's almost stinking.
After taking a shower, Su Nan wrapped her long hair tightly with a towel and fell asleep on the bed. She was really too sleepy to care about the fact that sleeping with wet hair was bad for her health.
In a daze, she seemed to hear Lin Yuemei opening the door and calling her to eat, but her eyelids were so heavy that she couldn't open them at all, so she didn't open her eyes. Seeing that she was sleeping soundly, the other party quietly closed the door and walked out.
Su Nan slept until noon the next day. She got up from the bed with sleepy eyes and just opened the door to the room when Su Yang suddenly appeared in front of her like a wandering soul, almost frightening her to death.
"Are you sick? You want to scare me, your sister, to death so early in the morning?" Su Nan's remaining sleepiness was scared away by him. She pushed his head away with her hand in annoyance and rolled her eyes.
Su Yang knew that he was too abrupt, so he apologized with a wry smile: "Sister, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it."
After he finished speaking, he paused for two seconds, pointed at the bright sunshine outside the window, and said seriously: "But it's not early morning now, it's noon."
"If you ask me, I'm not blind." Su Nan patted his frightened chest and walked around Su Yang to the bathroom. While brushing his teeth, he asked, "Where are my parents? Why can't I see them?"
"They went to work. Today is their last day at the factory. They will probably be back soon." Su Yang leaned against the bathroom door, watching Su Nan grinning and spitting foam without any expression.
This look is completely different from the beautiful sister who seemed to be glowing yesterday.
"Oh." Su Nan nodded, wiped his mouth with his hand, and responded.
Su Yang is in the first semester of the third year of junior high school this year and has just had a short vacation. He was very bored staying at home, so he followed his uncle Su Nan around, helping to heat up the food, peel oranges, and even ran errands to the nearby supply and marketing cooperative to buy two pounds of egg cakes.
All this is because of that watch, bah, because of the deep sisterly love, hehehe.
