Ruan Jiaojiao: "..."
She was so angry that she turned over and refused to talk to Fu Ting.
But this year it's the first day of the Lunar New Year, so even if Ruan Jiaojiao wants to stay in bed, she can't stay in bed for too long.
Moreover, Fu Ting's cooking was so bad that it was hard to swallow, so she got up and cooked for Liang Ge's son soon after because she felt sorry for him.
As promised yesterday, Ruan Jiaojiao made flower-shaped steamed buns in the shape of candied hawthorns, giving one skewer each to Da Bao and Xiao Bao.
The joyous first day of the Lunar New Year was tainted by a letter delivered by Huo Yunshu.
Holding the letter, Fu Ting said, "Huo Yunshu seems quite refined, but I never expected him to be such a dissolute writer."
Ruan Jiaojiao was somewhat surprised and asked him, "Brother Ting, you can actually read?"
"When I was a child, I studied with an old man in the village for a few days and learned a few characters."
"Oh, I see..."
Ruan Jiaojiao wanted to see what was written in the letter, but Fu Ting wouldn't let her see it, so Ruan Jiaojiao lost interest.
With Huo Yunshu's limited knowledge, all he could write were meaningless and cheesy lines like "You are Zhu Yingtai, I am Liang Shanbo" and "I am Xu Xian, waiting endlessly for you, my Bai Niangzi."
So Ruan Jiaojiao watched helplessly as Fu Ting threw the letter away, and she was furious.
This village at the foot of the mountain is a real jealous person; they get angry over the smallest things, and they haven't slept either.
Ruan Jiaojiao laughed so hard she was shaking, and Fu Ting scolded her, "You heartless little thing."
"No, nothing really happened between Huo Yunshu and me. Besides, I gave you the letter as soon as it arrived. I didn't even have the desire to open it. What are you jealous about?"
Ruan Jiaojiao tried to reason with him.
Fu Ting understood the logic, but he couldn't help feeling angry.
Fu Ting had no reason to refute, so he rushed over and hugged Ruan Jiaojiao, burying his head in her shoulder and saying, "I really want to tie you up with a rope so you can't go out and the only person you see every day is me."
Ruan Jiaojiao let him hold her and asked, "Then you'll have to watch over me all day long, won't you get annoyed?"
"No, I could look at my darling for eight hundred lifetimes and still not get enough..."
As Fu Ting spoke, his voice became hoarse.
Ruan Jiaojiao was afraid that he would not be able to resist doing *that* during the day, so she quickly pushed him away.
The team distributed meat and white sugar for the New Year, and each family also received a small bag of melon seeds.
Ruan Jiaojiao went to roast some sunflower seeds. The sunflower seeds distributed by the team were raw and had little flavor.
The three men didn't go anywhere; they just stood around her, staring wide-eyed as she roasted melon seeds.
Have you ever met a clingy man? Ruan Jiaojiao has three.
Ruan Jiaojiao couldn't help but say, "We can go out and play today! There are lots of children on the village roads. Brother Ting, you can take them out for a stroll."
"I'm not going!"
"I'm not going!"
"They don't deserve it."
The three men spoke in unison.
Ruan Jiaojiao: "..."
Okay.
However, Ruan Jiaojiao, who was pampered by three men, still felt quite happy.
Ruan Jiaojiao had just finished roasting melon seeds when Grandma Xue, with whom she had previously helped each other, came over for a visit with her son in a wheelchair.
Happy Chinese New Year!
"Happy New Year, Grandma Xue! Happy New Year, Uncle!"
Da Bao and Xiao Bao said in unison.
"Oh, you little rascals are so good! Here, Grandma has some candy for you!"
Grandma Xue's candy was brought back by her son. She couldn't bear to eat it herself, but she was willing to give it to Da Bao and Xiao Bao.
