Wang Ruixiang understood that this matter was actually very simple. As long as Qin Ying nodded, it would mean that there was a lot of room for maneuver. His eyes fell on her eagerly, waiting for her answer expectantly.
Qin Ying was silent for a while, then said lightly:
"Editor Wang, I accept your apology, but I won't be going back to work. I'm about to start school, and I won't be able to stay here for long. I'm afraid it's not appropriate."
When Wang Ruixiang heard this, his heart still tightened. This wouldn't do. He said he forgave her, but outsiders didn't know. Only by letting Qin Ying go back could this matter be considered complete. Even if she only went back for one day, it meant that his apology had worked.
Then he hurriedly said:
"Comrade Qin Ying, you are a bilingual proofreader. This position has been vacant for a long time, and we can't find someone as suitable as you in the short term. Could you please come back and work for a while? We are also working hard to recruit people. With you here, the work of the publishing house will go more smoothly."
Lin Zhiqiang nodded. This was quite true. Because the bilingual proofreader was fired, the manuscripts were piling up again.
"Xiao Qin, just consider it as helping the publishing house again. You left so suddenly, and everyone is eager for you to come back. Without bilingual proofreading, efficiency won't improve."
"Yes, just consider it as an emergency situation and give the publishing house a chance to make amends."
Chen Xuanhan always spoke in a way that made Wang Ruixiang feel comfortable listening to him. This sentence was quite powerful. He looked at Chen Xuanhan with appreciation. What he said was very pleasant to the ear.
"Yingying, please come back and stay with me for another month. Once you start school, it will be hard for us to see each other again. I will be happy at work when I am with you."
Xie Fangyuan shook Qin Ying's hand and pleaded pitifully.
Qin Ying hesitated after hearing their enthusiastic invitation, and everyone's eyes fell on her.
In fact, her refusal to go back to work was not an excuse.
School is about to start, and I probably won't be able to take care of my work at the publishing house. Making money is a small matter, but it would be bad if it delays other people's normal operations.
Looking at their eager eyes, Qin Ying took a deep breath and nodded at them:
"Well... okay, I'll go back and take over for a month. I'll start school in a month, so it won't affect the subsequent work if the agency finds someone to take over as soon as possible."
Wang Ruixiang finally showed a relieved smile on his face:
"Great! Thank you so much, Comrade Qin Ying! Thank you for your generosity and tolerance. A month is enough time for us to accomplish a lot. We will definitely make the proper arrangements for the subsequent handover."
When they had almost finished talking, Wang Ruixiang felt embarrassed to stay any longer, so he took Lin Zhiqiang and Chen Xuanhan back.
Before leaving, Xie Fangyuan also made an appointment with Qin Ying to set up a stall together today.
After they left, Qin Ying sat quietly on the sofa. She had originally said she was going to buy a bed, but after talking all morning, it was almost noon.
Fu Hanzhou saw her sitting in silence, walked over to her and sat down, holding her hand in his palm, speaking softly:
"If you're unhappy, just say it. Don't worry about them. If you don't want to go, then don't go. When they fired you, they didn't even consider whether the publishing house could continue to operate. You don't have to force yourself for them."
Qin Ying pursed her lips, still lowering her head, feeling unhappy:
"I know. I just thought about how I felt when I left that day. I felt like a heinous person. I didn't even have the courage to say goodbye to others. I clearly didn't do anything, but no one believed me."
Fu Hanzhou felt depressed and a little distressed when he heard this. He stretched out his arms and hugged her in his arms, resting his chin on her head and rubbing it back and forth unconsciously.
Qin Ying rarely showed weakness in front of him. She was not sharp, arrogant, or distant. She was willing to tell him her feelings, which made him feel relied upon.
"Don't worry about them. As long as I trust you, that's all. I'm here with you. You can do whatever you want. I won't let you suffer any injustice again."
Qin Ying raised her head from his arms, her eyes full of disdain:
"Captain Fu, are you very forgetful? You told me to stay away from Wei Zhuolan the other day. Do you believe me?"
She angrily tried to stand up from his arms, but he pulled her back forcefully:
"I didn't believe him. Besides, jealousy and belief are two different things."
Fu Hanzhou paused, his tone unhappy:
"Eh? That's not right. What do you mean by saying that now? I told you to stay away from him and you still have objections, right?"
He pinched her chin and forced her to look up. His eyes were so deep that you couldn't see the bottom of them.
"Don't try to change the subject. You just don't trust me. What did I do to make you so worried?"
Qin Ying pulled his hand away and held it with both hands. His hand was big, warm and dry, with long knuckles, distinct bones, and beautifully trimmed nails. She played with his fingers and looked up at him in confusion.
"I can't help but think too much about Wei Zhuolan getting close to you. You're my wife, so it's normal for me to lose my composure because I'm worried you might get hurt. It would be irrational if I trusted you too much, and I can't seem to do that. Anyway... I'm not happy, and that's just not okay."
Qin Ying blushed. Fu Hanzhou's words were not some kind of love vows, so why did they make her sound so nervous?
She glanced at him secretly, the sweetness in her heart kept coming out, and the corners of her mouth curled up uncontrollably:
"You're so smooth-talking. Who made you worry so much? I don't believe it."
Fu Hanzhou lowered his head slightly, and looked at Qin Ying's proud look in his arms with a curled mouth. Her pink little mouth kept talking, and his heart couldn't help but be shaken.
She was really stubborn. He suddenly lowered his head and kissed her on the lips:
