When Fu Hanzhou got home, he saw Qin Ying carefully proofreading the manuscript in the room, and she didn't even notice him coming in.
He frowned.
"You went to the publishing house?"
Qin Ying was startled by his sudden voice and her hands trembled:
"How come you came in without making any noise?"
Seeing that she didn't answer but asked instead, Fu Hanzhou sat down beside her and said with concern:
"You're just too focused."
Qin Ying glanced at him:
"Why did you come back so early today?"
Fu Hanzhou reached out and tucked the loose hair on her face behind her ears, his movements natural and casual:
"I went to the Public Security Bureau once and never returned to the army."
He reached out and took the manuscript in front of her, his mouth curled into a line:
"A temporary worker works so hard. Just imagine how much they would lose if you left."
"We don't know how much the loss is, and we haven't found a replacement yet."
Qin Ying pouted her lips. Her mouth was small to begin with, and it looked even smaller and cuter this way.
Fu Hanzhou's eyes were hot, his throat rolled unconsciously, he coughed dryly, and his voice was a little hoarse:
"If I can't find you, I have to keep doing it? Will it affect your studies?"
"That's not the case. It's just that we've already picked out a store today. It's about to open, so we'll be busy. Even if I don't have to go to the store, I still have to go check it out when I have time. I can't let others do all the work while I sit back and reap the benefits."
Qin Ying was talking while looking at the manuscript, not noticing Fu Hanzhou's expression.
As soon as he finished speaking, the pen in his hand was taken away by him.
She was a little confused:
"What are you doing? Don't make trouble. I have a pile of manuscripts here and I'll be working on them until tonight."
"Oh, what level are you at? You're so busy that you haven't found a replacement for the publishing house yet, and now you have another job? Why did you suddenly want to open a store?"
Fu Hanzhou tilted his head, his brows were deep, one arm was resting on the back of the chair behind him, the other hand was casually placed on the table, tapping the table with a pen, and asked seriously.
"It's because school is about to start. Setting up a stall is not practical. I can just open a shop and hire someone to run it."
Qin Ying tilted her head and looked at him, speaking as if it were a matter of course, without hearing the implicit meaning in Fu Hanzhou's words at all.
"If you can't set up a stall, just study hard. Why do you have to start a business? Why are you so obsessed with money? I don't need you to support the family. You spend my monthly allowance as you please. My parents pay for all the household expenses. My money is yours. Why do you have to make it so hard for yourself?"
Fu Hanzhou was a little puzzled. He had already given his salary to Qin Ying, but he had never seen her use it.
He really couldn't understand why she kept herself so busy.
Qin Ying pursed her lips, lowered her eyes and thought for a moment:
"Maybe he's just obsessed with money. He's already started and doesn't want to give up halfway. If one day we all lose our jobs, this is a way out."
This idea is totally out of line, and he's unemployed?!
Fu Hanzhou knew she was not telling the truth as soon as he heard it, and glared at her.
Looking at his expression, Qin Ying knew that he didn't believe it, but she was telling the truth.
She stopped explaining and looked down at the manuscript in front of her.
This was a very necessary preparation for her departure.
"You have to know that opening a shop is different from setting up a stall. It's managed by the industrial and commercial authorities, and you have to get a license first. You can't just sell goods as soon as you have them. You have to be inspected and checked at any time. There are also taxes, fire protection, and sanitation. Can you handle it?"
Fu Hanzhou moved closer to her, his expression serious and earnest, and one could tell there was a hint of displeasure in his voice.
Qin Ying raised her eyebrows, her big eyes with distinct black and white flickered smartly, and she was a little surprised that Fu Hanzhou would say these words.
She had thought about these things, but if she was afraid of trouble and did nothing, then nothing would be easy.
Fu Hanzhou said this to make her give up, but it didn't work!
She must have her own plans!
She smiled faintly:
"You're quite knowledgeable. Although there are a lot of chores, you can hire someone to look after the store. I'll go there when I'm free. It should be fine, so don't worry."
"The army is required to study national policies. How could I not know this? I thought you didn't know this. It seems you came prepared and have been planning this for a long time."
Fu Hanzhou looked at her with a dark and unclear look in his eyes.
"I... have been planning this since I finished my exams. It's always good to plan ahead."
Qin Ying said as she looked at him, somewhat uncertainly:
"You will support me, right? Didn't you say we should comply with national policies?"
"It's right to respond to national policies, but this policy is aimed at the majority of young people returning to cities who are unemployed. There's also the country's reform and opening-up policy. You can study and work, so there's no need to force yourself to get a piece of the action."
Fu Hanzhou's words were very clear, and Qin Ying could hear that he was not very supportive.
"So, what do you want to say?"
Qin Ying frowned and looked straight into his eyes.
"Study hard, open a shop...we'll talk about it later."
Fu Hanzhou raised his eyelids and met her gaze. His voice was light but firm.
"Are you worried that I'm too busy, or..."
Qin Ying found it hard to believe that Fu Hanzhou's attitude had changed so much.
"The more things you do, the more risks you face. I don't want you to be so tired, and I don't want to worry about you all the time. If I can't take care of you, I don't want anything to go wrong. You just need to study hard and be obedient!"
Fu Hanzhou spoke more firmly and raised his hand to rub her little head.
Qin Ying shook her head, shook off his hand, and continued to persuade him:
"There are risks in everything we do. We can't stop doing something just because there are risks. Someone has to do it."
