Qin Ying looked at Gu Ping'an's clumsy performance and suddenly found it extremely ridiculous.
"It's a shame that Comrade Gu Ping'an doesn't use his mouth to tell stories. But don't worry, I prefer to speak with my strength rather than make up stories about others."
She scoffed, turned around, opened the passenger door, got in, and deliberately slammed the door shut, causing the car body to tremble slightly.
Looking through the car window at Gu Ping'an's distorted expression, I suddenly felt bored. It would be a waste of energy to say any more meaningless words like this.
Fu Hanzhou glanced at her:
"It's getting late, let's go back first."
After saying that, he walked around the front of the car and sat in the driver's seat.
The car started and slowly drove away. Qin Ying looked through the rearview mirror and saw Gu Ping'an standing there. The expression on his face was one of undisguised jealousy and unwillingness. She withdrew her gaze and stopped looking at her, but she felt even more annoyed.
She is really haunting me. I can meet her no matter what I do.
Qin Ying's fingertips unconsciously stroked the car door handle, and the ulterior motive of Gu Ping'an's words just now was still lingering in her mind.
Given her personality, there's no guarantee she won't do something shady at the party.
And she was waiting to see the joke.
Looking at the program schedule in her hand, she suddenly remembered the doubts raised by her classmates in Class 2 - she also wanted to perform a program, but she didn't even have an instrument.
She can play the piano and violin, which is impossible under the current conditions.
So, she was thinking about a pedal organ, if one existed, and would have to practice for a few days first.
If you don’t have a foot organ, then perform a show with the girls in your dormitory.
Seeing that she was silent for a while, Fu Hanzhou glanced at her and continued to look straight ahead:
"What are you thinking about? Why are you so absent-minded?"
"I'm the freshman representative, so I have to perform a show."
Fu Hanzhou frowned. This was a difficult problem. It was easy to learn knowledge from books, but it was difficult for a rural girl to be good at another talent.
"What kind of show are you planning?"
"It's always safer to put on a show with roommates than to go it alone."
Qin Ying folded and unfolded the program schedule in her hand without mentioning the pedal organ.
"That's great. The girls in your dormitory seem very lively. It shouldn't be difficult to put on a show."
Fu Hanzhou held the steering wheel with one hand, his eyes swept across Qin Ying's soft profile, with approval in his eyes, and continued:
"This gala is no ordinary one. The military commander personally decided on the theme. He said it's to showcase the military medical system to the top students from medical schools—"
He paused, his eyes falling on the tip of her ear which was flushed.
"But there were so many young military officers in the audience that I heard someone deliberately changed the opening act to a ballroom dance, euphemistically calling it 'matchmaking for the young people.'"
Qin Ying looked down at the program schedule, tapped the words "Military-Civilian Friendship" with her fingertips, and raised her eyebrows.
"So ballroom dancing is about something else? The military chief is quite knowledgeable about psychology."
Fu Hanzhou turned the steering wheel with one hand, with a meaningful smile on his lips:
"On the battlefield, it's important to know both yourself and the enemy. In life, it's also important to understand the soldiers' combat needs."
He suddenly glanced sideways, a hint of mischief flashing in his eyes:
"Why, Squad Leader Qin wants to pass on some 'combat experience' to his roommate?"
Qin Ying snorted lightly:
"The leader is really keeping up with the trend, providing a one-stop service for socializing and blind dating."
Fu Hanzhou tapped the steering wheel with his fingers and said with a smile:
"Isn't it? At the last military meeting, the old commander slammed the table and said, 'Solving the problem of singles is also a form of combat effectiveness.'"
He turned his head and glanced at Qin Ying:
"After all, some 'key protected areas' require cordoning off areas in advance."
Qin Ying glanced at Fu Hanzhou, and he became nervous again.
I don't know why I made him so worried.
She smiled lightly and said half-jokingly:
"Fu Hanzhou, don't be so nervous. The old commander said that solving the problem of singles is a battle strength, but he didn't say that family members should be treated as key protected objects and given 'special care'. I can handle all situations myself. Don't be so nervous, relax, you're putting pressure on me."
Fu Hanzhou had a casual and nonchalant look on his face, and said in a low voice:
"Don't worry about it. Better safe than sorry. I'm just preparing for a rainy day."
He became more and more excited as he talked. Qin Ying glared at him and said nothing more.
The news that there was a blind date session at the fraternity party quickly spread throughout the campus.
When I arrived at the dormitory again, Han Dongmei was standing on tiptoe to stick ribbons on the wall, and Zhou Lina was directing her with a pair of scissors in her hand.
Seeing her coming, Han Dongmei shouted:
"Squad leader! Squad leader! You're finally here! I've been waiting for you for a long time."
Han Dongmei pressed the last paper flower against the wall, jumped off the stool, her eyes brightening astonishingly, and pulled Qin Ying and said:
"Xiao Qin, have you heard? There's a blind date segment at this year's opening ceremony and military-civilian gathering. The school bulletin board has posted a list of officers. I heard that all of those coming this time have made contributions!"
Zhou Lina raised her hand, cut the ribbon with a scissors, and took over the conversation:
"There's a program on the table. The monitor of Class 2 received a notice and sent it over. This is the finalized content. They said it's for you."
Qin Ying put down her schoolbag and picked up the paper with wet ink on it.
Han Dongmei and Zhou Lina came over, staring at the contents of the paper head to head. Zhou Lina's tone was full of excitement:
"The order of the program has changed. After our finale, there will be a military boxing performance. After we get off the stage, we'll run into those soldiers. Isn't this a ready-made blind date opportunity?"
She clasped her hands in front of her chest, her face full of longing:
