Chapter 226 Don’t Make Me Regret Picking You Up Today

Fu Hanzhou glared at her fiercely.

He reached out and grabbed Qin Ying's wrist, pulling her to his side with such force that it seemed as if he was trying to rub her into her bones. Then he slammed the gloves in his hand heavily on the table.

"Now, clean it up immediately."

Qin Ying's heart trembled at his action. Fu Hanzhou pursed his lips tightly, his lip lines firm. His eyes swept across the manuscript in Qin Ying's hand, and his tone was cold enough to freeze:

"And you, I'll deal with you when I get home."

His voice was low and carried an unquestionable sense of oppression, but his words sounded indescribably ambiguous and intimate, and Qin Ying's cheeks became hot uncontrollably.

She knew that this was Fu Hanzhou's way of asserting his sovereignty, but the shame of being treated as private property in public, and the inexplicable bitterness in her heart, made her eyes suddenly hot.

This awkward feeling made her freeze for a moment. She caught a glimpse of Gu Ping'an no longer maintaining her usual weak and pitiful appearance. She looked at them angrily, her nails digging deep into her palms.

Gu Ping'an mechanically raised his hand, as if suppressing some emotion, and slowly cleaned up the dirt on the table.

Her fingertips suddenly touched a splinter on the corner of the table, and she vaguely remembered that three years ago, a similar splinter had pierced her palm, but Fu Hanzhou just handed her a bandage, and even the act of bandaging her was distant.

She slowly raised her head and looked at Qin Ying, a sinister smile oozing from the corner of her mouth:

"Qin Ying is so lucky. Not only does Teacher Wei protect her, but Captain Fu also comes to support her. I finally understand that there are some roads where you can't turn back once you've walked on them."

After saying that, he shook his hair and turned away.

Wei Zhuolan looked at her back and curled his lips thoughtfully. Fu Hanzhou really didn't show his true colors.

It seems that Gu Ping'an is heartbroken.

He couldn't protect Qin Ying, but he still showed mercy to her. It seems that it is not certain who will win or lose in the end.

Let’s wait and see!

The rehearsal began soon. Fu Hanzhou took off his military cap and sat in the last row of the audience, staring at the side curtain of the stage.

Qin Ying and Wei Zhuolan's figures overlapped on the screen, and the two of them checked the program list head to head. The pen in Wei Zhuolan's hand occasionally brushed across Qin Ying's fingertips, but she nodded without noticing.

The air suddenly became sticky. Fu Hanzhou absentmindedly loosened his collar without moving his eyes away.

His Adam's apple rolled heavily, and he forced himself to swallow the nameless anger.

The sounds of musical instruments tuning in the auditorium were like countless steel needles irritating his eardrums.

The intimacy between Qin Ying and Wei Zhuolan made him squeeze the armrest of the chair until it made a squeaking sound.

When it was her turn to speak as a representative of the freshmen, Wei Zhuolan stood by the side, looking at her with a smile.

Fu Hanzhou suddenly straightened his back, staring at Wei Zhuolan with eyes like blades. The look in his eyes when he looked at Qin Ying was almost greedy.

"Dreams should not be constrained..."

Qin Ying's voice echoed in the auditorium, but she suddenly trembled when she caught a glimpse of the familiar military uniform in the corner of the audience.

Fu Hanzhou's tightly pursed thin lips were pale blue, and she knew that was a sign of his suppressed anger.

Wei Zhuolan suddenly reached out from behind her and adjusted the height of the microphone for her. The moment his fingertips brushed her ear, Fu Hanzhou slapped the chair and stood up.

The sound of metal chair legs scraping against the ground pierced the air, and everyone's attention was instantly focused.

Fu Hanzhou strode towards the exit, and caught a glimpse of Wei Zhuolan with his arms folded across his chest. The look in his eyes was like a poisoned arrow, filled with the complacency of a determined to win and naked provocation.

Qin Ying, who was reading the script, glanced at him leaving and broke her voice here.

Feeling aggrieved and angry, he paused for a moment before continuing.

Until the auditorium door closed heavily, the whispers from the audience drowned her like a tide.

What happened to Fu Hanzhou?

He didn't come back until the end of her pedal organ solo.

Qin Ying was a little disappointed. When she was playing solo, all she could think about was how he would leave. She pressed several wrong notes with her fingers and played worse than a few days ago.

When the performance was over, she ran out of the auditorium in a panic.

Qin Ying's mind was in a mess on the way from the auditorium to the school gate.

She was worried that Fu Hanzhou might not be able to wait and leave. That was a good thing. She would live on campus in the future and avoid arguing with Wei Zhuolan all day long.

But she also hoped that he would not leave and that he could understand her.

When she was about to reach the school gate, she slowed down, feeling that she was a little confused.

Does Fu Hanzhou's joys and sorrows make her so nervous?

As a result, there were frequent mistakes in the afternoon rehearsal.

Under the sycamore tree at the school gate, the setting sun stretched Fu Hanzhou's shadow very long, casting it obliquely on the ground, like a cut wound.

The sycamore tree rustled in the wind, and a few leaves fell on his shoulders, but he was completely unaware. He still stood there straight, his eyes fixed on the direction of the auditorium.

Seeing the tall figure at the school gate, Qin Ying instantly felt at ease.

He is still here, he has not left.

She took a few quick steps and then suddenly stopped.

His sudden departure in the afternoon made her feel inexplicably wronged.

After hesitating for a moment, Qin Ying took a deep breath, walked over as if nothing had happened, lowered her head and secretly observed his expression.

Seeing her come out, Fu Hanzhou said nothing, opened the door of the cab and got in.

The engine roared dully, and Fu Hanzhou's hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles turning white.

Qin Ying lowered her head, her fingers nervously twisting the straps of her schoolbag, feeling a little conflicted.

What happened in the afternoon was caused by Gu Ping'an, so there shouldn't be anything to say.

If you say that Wei Zhuolan was defending her, it was true, but every word he said was about the performance.
