Outside the window, a muffled thunder exploded and heavy rain poured down.
Qin Ying interrupted Fu Hanzhou's question and her body stiffened instantly. Her fingers tightly grasped the edge of the blanket, avoiding Fu Hanzhou's gaze.
He put his hand into her hair, his eyes dark and unfathomable:
"Who did you learn violin from?"
Before Qin Ying could answer, the wind from the window suddenly rushed in, causing her body to tremble. Fu Hanzhou tightened the blanket around her and hugged her tighter.
"Qin Ying, how many things are you hiding from me?"
Feeling the stiffness of the person in his arms, Fu Hanzhou suddenly remembered meeting Gu Pingan when he left the backstage. She had a provocative and cold smile on her face:
"A country girl suddenly learns to play the violin. Could it be that she has secretly learned the decadent music of capitalism?"
This is a blatant accusation!
So, he had to ask clearly.
Qin Ying's eyes were a little evasive, and her voice trembled slightly:
"Yes... the teacher who was once sent to the cowshed taught me, not only the violin, but also all that knowledge..."
"Coach Li said your technique is like Lin Wenyuan's."
His voice was eerily calm:
"Can……"
But Gu Ping'an said that Lin Wenyuan would never teach her.
Seeing that Qin Ying didn't speak, he lowered his eyes and looked at her deeply:
"What does Lin Wenyuan look like?"
Qin Ying, wrapped in a blanket, stood up suddenly:
"You still doubt me?"
"Suspect?"
Fu Hanzhou tugged at his collar, his Adam's apple rolling violently:
"While I was applauding in the audience, you were being torn apart, and now you won't even tell me how you learned to play the violin!"
Qin Ying's blood almost froze, and her nails dug deep into her palms.
He reached out to pull her, but saw that she kept backing away.
She raised her head to meet Fu Hanzhou's gaze, and caught a fleeting trace of pain in the coldness.
"Qin Ying, am I your husband so unworthy of your trust?"
She recalled her calmness when she dissected corpses in the laboratory before she crossed into the book, and her voice miraculously calmed down:
"Fu Hanzhou, sometimes even trust can't solve the problem. Moreover, when people face an irresistible crisis, their first reaction is to escape."
"So you want to escape?"
"No, no! I just want to say that husband and wife are birds of the same forest, but when disaster strikes, they fly away separately. When danger comes, trust is just a joke."
Fu Hanzhou sneered:
"So you've never considered me as someone to rely on, so naturally, you don't trust me!"
Qin Ying thought, you won’t believe me!
Because the truth is too absurd!
Fu Hanzhou saw her silence, sneered, pinched her chin and forced her to look up:
"So you're not not answering, but you don't want to answer?! Or... you can't answer!"
Fu Hanzhou's voice became cold and serious:
"Qin Ying, I'm a soldier. If I ask you, you must answer. There is no second choice."
Qin Ying was frightened by the sense of oppression in his words and became even more nervous:
"No..."
My chin was pinched so hard that it hurt, but my eyes got even redder.
"I just..."
"Just what?"
He approached her, his voice filled with gunpowder and despair:
"You just think I'm not worthy of knowing? Or have you never considered me your man? The ambiguous look in your eyes can't deceive me!"
Qin Ying gritted her teeth and thought, I'll just go for it, just lie first and then talk about it later.
She forced herself to look directly into those bottomless eyes, her voice trembling:
"The teacher who was sent down...did teach me, but I don't know his name."
Fu Hanzhou narrowed his eyes, pondering the credibility of her words:
"Lin Wenyuan, who came to Chao County, and the teacher who taught you violin..."
He paused, his eyes filled with solemnity and doubt:
"Is it the same person, or..."
He paused abruptly, then suddenly grasped her hand, staring intently into her eyes, and looked at her silently for a moment:
"...or did you make it up? Or are you not Qin Ying at all?"
The air froze instantly.
Qin Ying's blood ran cold. This was more terrifying than the questioning she had expected.
In this era, the four words "unknown identity" are enough to make her fall into the abyss.
Her heart suddenly started beating wildly. She tried hard to suppress the panic in her heart. She looked at Fu Hanzhou for a long time, raised her head and sneered:
"I'm not Qin Ying? What basis did Captain Fu base his conclusion on?"
She lowered her head, hiding the shock and panic in her eyes:
"Since Captain Fu said so... do you want to complete the military marriage procedures first, or... report the 'suspicious person' first?"
Fu Hanzhou looked at her. With his many years of experience in leading troops, Qin Ying felt guilty.
But her words were like a thorn that pierced Fu Hanzhou's heart.
She would rather be misunderstood, but insisted on not saying anything. Fu Hanzhou's pupils suddenly shrank and he shook her hand away.
"Lin Wenyuan never taught you anything, right?"
Thunder roared outside the window, casting a dark shadow on his face.
"Qin Ying, both publicly and privately, you must give me a reasonable explanation."
After saying that, he turned around and slammed the door, leaving her in the empty room, listening to the sound of rain mixed with her own pounding heartbeat.
Fu Hanzhou didn't come back all night. When he woke up in the morning, he looked at the empty house and felt a sense of emptiness in his heart.
The dress that was torn to pieces last night was still lying on the ground, like a piece of broken moonlight.
After breakfast, Fu Hanzhou came back.
Qin Ying was still sitting at the dining table. When she saw him come in, she stared at him without blinking.
Fu Hanzhou's eyes swept across her clenched hands, and his Adam's apple rolled involuntarily.
