Qin Ying looked at the pain in his eyes and her heart softened:
"We didn't catch him at the time, and you were seriously injured and unconscious. I don't want to make you worry anymore."
She reached out to support his back, making him sit more comfortably, and comforted him gently:
"Don't worry about it. When he did this, I knew this would be the result. There's no point in talking about it now."
Fu Hanzhou grabbed her wrist with his backhand, his strength was astonishing, and his eyes swept across her face:
"We haven't even finished settling the account for the storage room, and he dares to set off an explosion in the military area..."
He touched the wound on his abdomen, relaxed, and coughed twice:
"Investigate, find out who handed him the knife from behind."
Xiao Cheng was about to speak but stopped talking, but Fu Hanzhou looked at him first:
"From today on, no matter where Qin Ying goes, you must follow her closely."
Qin Ying wanted to say something, but Fu Hanzhou held her wrist tighter and stared at her intently.
"As long as the person behind this can't be caught, the danger will not disappear. I can't let anything happen to you. Listen to me!"
The sycamore leaves outside the window were rustling in the wind. Fu Hanzhou used force on his hands to make her sit down on the edge of the bed, but he pulled the infusion tube too hard.
The transparent liquid medicine dripped onto the back of his hand, mixing with the seeping blood.
"Tell the task force that he must be seen alive, no----"
He paused, staring at the flickering light and shadow on the ceiling:
"Even after he's dead, we'll dig out the people behind him."
Qin Ying wiped the medicine stains off his hands and patted the back of his hands gently.
But Fu Hanzhou suddenly grabbed her fingertips and pressed them against his palm:
"Don't take it lightly. Don't leave the military compound without a guard by your side."
"Okay, don't get excited, the wound will open."
Qin Ying stood up and adjusted the IV tube, her voice sweet and coaxing.
When Gu Ping'an walked to the door, he happened to hear all these words.
Her fingers gripping the door handle suddenly tightened, and the silver art troupe brooch gleamed coldly in the morning light.
When she opened the door, a gentle smile appeared on her face:
"Who is Captain Fu angry about?"
However, his eyes suddenly turned cold when he saw the scene of Fu Hanzhou and Qin Ying sitting facing each other:
"Captain Fu is in such a good mood. He's busy talking about love right after recovering from a serious illness?"
She placed the fruit basket heavily on the table, making a dull sound.
"It's really enviable. Some people can easily get what others fight so hard for."
Qin Ying's expression changed. Just as she was about to stand up, Fu Hanzhou suddenly grabbed her waist and pushed her back to the bed.
This action made Gu Ping'an's eyelashes tremble violently. She stared at the blush on Qin Ying's ears, and the coldness and jealousy in her voice were not concealed at all.
"After all, he's a top student in medical school, and he takes such good care of patients."
Fu Hanzhou gently held Qin Ying's hand in his palm, his eyes swept over the marks on her wrist left by adjusting the IV tube, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously raised:
"Indeed, Yingying takes very good care of me. She even calculates the dressing change time to the exact minute. I am very satisfied."
His voice was soft, but it made the air freeze instantly.
Gu Ping'an's nails dug deep into his palms, and the silver brooch shone coldly on his violently heaving chest:
"It's just the basic skills for medical students..."
"Safety."
Fu Hanzhou suddenly interrupted her, lowered his eyes to straighten the wrinkles on Qin Ying's collar, his tone was still gentle, but every word was like an icicle:
"Adults should think before they speak. Some words are like knives. If you wield them too recklessly, it won't just be others who get hurt in the end—"
He raised his head, his eyes as sharp as a hawk:
"Don't let past affection become an excuse for hurting others and yourself."
The ward fell into deathly silence.
Qin Ying stared at Gu Ping'an's suddenly pale face, and suddenly stood up and pulled out the infusion needle from the back of Fu Hanzhou's hand.
As she pressed the cotton swab against the needle hole, she finally spoke, her voice as cold as ice:
"The potion is finished."
Her eyes passed over Gu Ping'an's face expressionlessly, as if she turned a blind eye, and she shook her head silently in her heart. She really would not stop hating Fu Hanzhou until her death.
Seeing that Qin Ying ignored her, Gu Ping'an's face almost twisted. Just as she was about to open her mouth to refute, hurried footsteps were heard in the corridor.
Two police officers pushed the door open and entered, the sound of handcuffs colliding was sharp and piercing.
"Comrade Gu Ping'an, please cooperate with the investigation into Qin Qinghua's murder."
The smile faded from Gu Ping'an's face bit by bit.
The blood color also faded.
The air in the ward froze instantly.
She stumbled back half a step, bumping into the bedside table behind her with a dull thud, and tried to make her voice sound natural:
"Are you mistaken? How could I be related to him..."
She held onto the edge of the table stiffly, then quickly straightened her back, her voice carrying the graceful grace of an actor:
"I wonder what evidence the public security comrades have? As a friend of Captain Fu, I will naturally cooperate fully."
She spoke with forced composure, the image of Qin Qinghua struggling in the reeds flashing through her mind—she had clearly confirmed that he was no longer breathing, so how could this be…
"We also need your explanation for the Jinwen Pavilion case."
The leading public security officer showed his ID and said in a calm but unquestionable tone:
"Please come with us."
"Impossible! Why would you…"
Gu Ping'an screamed and struggled, his carefully styled hair falling apart, revealing several hideous scratches on his neck.
"Based on the witness testimony and physical evidence at the scene, you are a major suspect in the crime."
The leading public security officer showed his ID and motioned for his colleagues to come forward:
"Is this a misunderstanding? Go back to the bureau and explain it clearly."
