"sister in law!"
Xiaocheng suddenly lowered his voice and said:
"The Public Security Bureau said that Wei Zhuolan submitted a certificate of lost badge on the day he was taken away - he was bumped into in the hospital corridor and was only picking up documents at the time and didn't notice the badge had fallen off."
Qin Ying's fingertips suddenly tightened, causing wrinkles on the bed sheet.
The wanton and twisted smile on Gu Ping'an's face before he was taken away, and Wei Zhuolan's stubbornness and madness in stopping the interrogation for her, suddenly collided in his mind.
Fu Hanzhou keenly noticed her abnormality:
"What did you think of?"
"It's Gu Ping'an!"
She suddenly grabbed Fu Hanzhou's arm, and the warmth from her palm came through the fabric:
"When you were on the mission, Gu Ping'an reported me for playing the violin and was investigated by the Security Department. It was Wei Zhuolan who suppressed the investigation. If Qin Qinghua's death..."
Her words stopped in her throat, her nails dug deep into her palms, and her eyes swept across the pale walls of the ward, as if trying to dig out the truth from the mottled wall.
"It only makes sense if she killed Qin Qinghua and then stole the badge to frame him! She hates everyone who helped me!"
Fu Hanzhou stared at her white knuckles and suddenly laughed out loud, but with a hint of gnashing teeth:
"Wei Zhuolan is a good person—he first gave you the place to study abroad, and then suppressed the investigation for you."
He tugged at his collar, his eyes fixed on her panicked expression.
"Unlike me, I can neither give you a future nor protect you in the critical moment."
Before he finished speaking, Xiao Cheng suddenly coughed, blushing as he lowered his head to sort out the documents.
"Captain, the doctor said it's time to change the medicine..."
Fu Hanzhou turned a deaf ear and didn't even glance at Xiaocheng. When he saw the situation, he slipped out of the ward quietly.
Seeing Xiaocheng leave, Qin Ying picked up the medicine tray and prepared to change Fu Hanzhou's medicine, but she heard him still grumbling in a sour and sarcastic tone:
"Wei Zhuolan really cares about you. He took such a big risk for you and even compromised on his lifelong affairs. Compared to that, my injuries are a joke."
He turned his face away and looked out the window, his tone was nonchalant, but every word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth.
"When Gu Ping'an was framing him, why didn't he just engrave the words 'deep love and loyalty' on the badge? Even when he was being framed, he had to pick a case involving you."
Qin Ying felt amused when she heard his sour and bitter tone. She rolled her eyes at him.
"You! Shut up!"
This man is endlessly jealous.
She opened his wound without even looking at him, and didn't react at all to his jealousy.
Seeing that Qin Ying didn't speak for a long time, Fu Hanzhou suddenly held her free hand, and gently stroked the crescent mark on her palm caused by nervousness with his fingertips.
"Angry?"
His voice was hoarse, and his dark eyes were deep and burning.
"No matter how much he does, it's all overdoing my job and has bad intentions. You're here to serve me, how can you have the time to pay attention to others?"
"Fu Hanzhou!"
Qin Ying was so angry that she pressed down on his shaking shoulder, causing the IV tube to shake even more violently.
"It seems your wound is healing well. You still have the time to make sarcastic remarks. Should I tighten your bandages?"
As she spoke, she gently pulled the gauze on his wound.
"hiss----"
Fu Hanzhou took a breath, but couldn't hide the smile in his eyes:
"Murdering your husband?"
As they were talking, Xiaocheng came in from the door, looking hurried:
"Captain, I just received news that Minister Wei got really angry because of Wei Zhuolan's investigation. He has just been released."
Upon hearing this, Fu Hanzhou raised his lips in an ambiguous arc, leaned close to Qin Ying and whispered:
"That's good! Your teacher Wei is unharmed. Shouldn't you go and congratulate him?"
"I see your wound doesn't hurt anymore."
Qin Ying glared at him in feigned anger, but secretly raised the corners of her mouth when she turned around.
She shook off Fu Hanzhou's hand, turned around and asked Xiaocheng in surprise:
"Released so soon?"
"Yes, I heard that Qin Qinghua's sister, Qin Meihua, turned herself in to the Public Security Bureau this morning and confessed that Gu Ping'an was the mastermind behind everything!"
Qin Ying was stunned. It turned out that they were really in collusion.
She wanted to ask something else, but she saw Xiaocheng looking at her solemnly:
"Sister-in-law, the Public Security Bureau called and said they need you to identify the circumstances of Qin Qinghua's case. They also need to reconfirm the details of the previous storage room...attempted case."
Qin Ying's face turned pale in an instant. Her hand that was bandaging Fu Hanzhou's wound paused, and the tweezers in the dressing tray made a slight sound.
She took a deep breath:
"I'll be right there."
Her fingers clenched unconsciously, and the nightmarish memories of the storage room came flooding back like a tide. She subconsciously looked at Fu Hanzhou.
But I saw that he had already stood up, lifted the quilt and was about to get out of bed:
"I'll go with you."
"Your injury hasn't healed yet!"
Qin Ying held his shoulders:
"I'll be back soon, just take a good rest."
Fu Hanzhou stared into her eyes intently, and suddenly grabbed her wrist:
“Be careful!”
"Captain, I'll go with my sister-in-law."
Xiaocheng took over the conversation, wrinkling his military cap in his hands:
"I was also an eyewitness to the explosion that day. Many details at the scene still need to be verified. Don't worry, I will definitely bring the person back safely."
Qin Ying patted Fu Hanzhou's hand, curled the corners of her lips, and followed Xiaocheng out of the ward.

When I pushed open the iron door of the interrogation room of the Public Security Bureau, the smell of disinfectant mixed with blood hit me in the face.
Captain Xing looked solemn as he led them to the archives room.
