Through the firelight, Qin Ying saw the silver bracelet on his hand reflecting the last cold light in the sea of fire, and finally melted into a twisted metal ball.
Qin Ying held the unconscious Fu Hanzhou tightly, and heard the roar of the soldiers:
"Captain Fu has protected my sister-in-law and held on until now! We will risk our lives to save him!"
She looked down at his blood-stained military uniform, remembering how he used his last bit of strength to protect her under him even though his wound was excruciatingly painful, and tears fell on his bloodless face.
"Fu Hanzhou! Wake up!"
Qin Ying's nails dug deep into Fu Hanzhou's neck, and hot blood oozed out through her fingers.
When she leaned over to feel his breath, she was suddenly pulled back by the back of her collar—it was the guard who rushed over after hearing the news:
"Sister-in-law, let us do it!"
The sound of the stretcher rolling over the charred wood stung her eardrums. Qin Ying slumped down on the steps, watching everyone rushing Fu Hanzhou to the inpatient building. She vaguely remembered him being seriously injured a few days ago, and how she had used modern medical technology, through the halo of the operating light, to pull him back from the brink of death.
At this moment, the smell of disinfectant has not yet dissipated, and the race against time is about to be repeated.
She stumbled to her feet, her clothes stained with black ash. As she passed the still-smoking pile of charred corpses, her half-melted silver bracelet suddenly flashed in the firelight, a striking resemblance to the cold gleam from Lin Zhao's wrist before she swung her knife.
Qin Ying clenched her fists, blackened by gunfire, and turned to rush into the corridor. Amid the shouts in the corridor, she heard someone yell, "Quickly find Captain Fu's family!" and dug her nails into her palms.
"I am here."

Inside the detention center, the loud noise of the iron door being slammed open startled Gu Ping'an so much that she trembled all over. Someone actually came to see her?
Will anyone still remember her?
After all, his biological parents have never shown up until now.
She looked at the person who came in blankly, and saw the prison guard throw the brown paper bag on the iron bars, and a silver bracelet that was burned and deformed suddenly fell out from it.
"Lin Zhao is dead."
The prison guard kicked the silver bracelet off, and the sound of metal collision pierced the eardrum:
"Before he died, he said, 'I'll extinguish your light.'"
The only words Gu Ping'an heard in her mind were "Lin Zhao is dead". She curled up and didn't move, staring at the prison guard without blinking.
A sweet, rusty taste rose in her throat, and she bit her tongue tightly. She recalled the day she visited him in prison, when Lin Zhao had smoothed her hair through the bars, kissed her fingertips, and worshipped her like a god.
She slowly crawled over, picked up the silver bracelet, and pressed it hard into her palm, as if the stinging pain from the metal was the only thing that made her feel that everything was real.
How could he die?
impossible!
She is still alive, how could he bear to leave her alone?
"Interrogation room!"
The prison guard suddenly slammed the table and looked at her fiercely.
Gu Pingan suddenly stood up and rushed towards the iron bars like crazy:
"I want to see him! See him for the last time!"
“Only the ashes are left.”
The prison guard threw a photo over. Next to the charred corpse twisted in the sea of fire, the silver bracelet that was about to melt was shining coldly in the ashes.
Gu Ping'an's pupils suddenly contracted - that was a gift from Lin Zhao.
Memories are like a flood that has broken through a dam.
On that night of her despair, when she thought everyone had abandoned her, Lin Zhao knelt on the ground, covering her wounds again and again with her warm lips, her voice so soft as if she didn't want to shatter the glass:
"In my heart you are purer than the moon."
He lowered his head and kissed the scars all over her body, his voice choked with sobs:
"I will use my life to clean every place he touches."
"Gu Ping'an! Explain your relationship with Lin Zhao!"
The interrogation light was so bright that she couldn't open her eyes.
She looked at her trembling fingertips and laughed:
"Relationship? He's just an obedient dog... I said I wanted Fu Hanzhou's life, and he was so eager to become a stray dog..."
"Yeah?"
The prison guard threw out a crumpled piece of paper that he had found at Lin Zhao's residence.
The handwriting on the yellowed paper was scribbled:
"Ping An always says she wants the moon, but the moon is too cold... I want to be her only sun."
Gu Ping'an's smile froze on his face.
She bit her lower lip until it bled, but it couldn't resist the burning liquid in her eyes. The scenes she had deliberately ignored suddenly became clear:
"Put on this bracelet with my name on it, and no one can touch you from now on..."
On a rainy night, he kissed her scars, the coolness of the silver bracelet against her hot skin.
"When I have saved enough wages, I will exchange this silver for gold."
Lin Zhao's fingertips were hooked with bracelets, and the gold threads from her costume hung down on the back of her hand.
"Who asked you to deliver it?"
She turned her face away, but let him put the bracelet on her wrist.
"Wear it, and no one is allowed to touch you."
"I'll exchange it for gold once I save enough money...hahaha...scam!"
Her body trembled even more violently, and blood oozed out from between her clenched fingers.
During his last visit to her in prison, he smiled at her through the iron bars, his hand hidden in his sleeve still habitually stroking the silver bracelet she had taken off.
"It was burned into his bones. It took a lot of effort to remove it."
The prison guard's voice suddenly became distant.
Amidst the tinnitus, she recalled that day:
"I want him dead!"
She grabbed his collar and screamed.
Lin Zhao gently wiped away the tears from her face and kissed her forehead:
"Okay, I'll help you."
"answer the questions!"
The guard's roar brought her back to her senses.
Gu Ping'an suddenly pounced on the iron railings, shaking them like crazy, his nails scratching against the railings, making a harsh sound.
"Why is he so obedient? He doesn't have to go!"
