Chapter 297 Dream 1

Fu Hanzhou's temples were throbbing.

I felt like all the blood in my body was rushing to my head.

"Let her go!"

He roared and swung his fist, but watched helplessly as his fist pierced through Zhao Shunxi's body.

The biting cold spread from his fingertips, and he suddenly realized that he was like a shadow, and could only watch this tragedy.

The scene before him completely coincided with the "ending in the book" that Qin Ying had described.

Could it be that what he was seeing now was the story in the book that Qin Ying was telling?

He continued to roar unwillingly, his raised fist hitting the air again and again:

"I told you to let her go! You beast!"

Suddenly, tinnitus exploded in his ears, and his heart began to beat violently. Zhao Shunxi's grim smile suddenly overlapped with the piercing alarm of the monitor, and Qin Ying's desperate sobs were permeated with a cry of sobbing:

"Fu Hanzhou! Wake up!"

He felt like all the nerves in his body were being pulled to pieces. Who was calling him?

The sound came and went, and he suddenly felt a cold touch on his wrist - like being strangled by an IV tube, or like the force Qin Ying pulled him with when she was angry.

"Don't be afraid... I'm here."

Qin Ying's voice was trembling. Fu Hanzhou stretched out his hand, trying to grasp the illusory warmth, but it penetrated Qin Ying's shadow.

Suddenly, Zhao Shunxi laughed obscenely and leaned over to whisper in Qin Ying's ear. The voice was not loud but it reached his ears clearly:

"The veterinary medicine your sister gave me is really effective. Drink it and I will do whatever I want. When Fu Hanzhou sees this scene, your life will be over!"

As he spoke, he raised his hand to wipe the foam from the corner of Qin Ying's mouth, and glanced at an empty bowl on the bedside table. There were a few pieces of dark brown medicine residue at the bottom of the bowl, and dark red powder on the edge.

Fu Hanzhou followed his gaze and was shocked - the words "Veterinary XXX" were written on the label of the medicine bottle next to the bowl. It was the medicine used for breeding livestock.

Just then, the door was slammed open.

Qin Meihua rushed in panting, with false concern on her face, and the person following behind her was actually "himself".

"Brother Hanzhou, I came here as soon as I heard the noise..."

Her voice suddenly rose, pointing at Qin Ying on the bed:

"Sister...why is she with Zhao Shunxi..."

Zhao Shunxi vented his anger unsatisfied, turned around and smiled evilly at "himself", deliberately pressing Qin Ying's face into the pillow, revealing the large purple kiss mark on her neck:

"Captain Fu, you came at an unfortunate time—"

He tugged at his belt, his tone full of provocation:

"Yingying has had enough of you ignoring her. She cries in my ear every day, saying she wants to elope with me!"

Qin Ying suddenly struggled violently, turbid tears sliding down the corners of her eyes.

His head tilted weakly to one side, and he let out a faint whimper from his throat, like a cat with its neck strangled.

She focused her vision with difficulty, and the moment she saw Fu Hanzhou, her pupils suddenly contracted. She raised her hand with her last bit of strength and pointed at the bedside table - the medicine bottle there had been taken away, and there was a candy wrapper stained with medicine powder.

“No…medicine…”

Before she finished her unclear words, Zhao Shunxi covered her mouth and whispered a sinister laugh in her ear:

"You were drugged. Now everyone believes you did it voluntarily."

Fu Hanzhou in the dream suddenly sneered, and his body under the military uniform was as tense as a string.

He pulled Zhao Shunxi away and looked down at Qin Ying's messy hair and open clothes. His eyes were colder than the ice in winter.

"Qin Ying, you are as despicable as the rumors say."

Fu Hanzhou's blood froze as he watched "himself" speaking indiscriminately and coldly. So he had been so cold and indifferent back then?!

He walked forward, pointed at the medicine bottle on the table and roared, wanting him to see the truth, but found that no one could see or hear him.

He was spinning in circles like a trapped animal, his voice trembling with anger.

"Wait! Look at her eyes! She's been drugged!"

Fu Hanzhou tried desperately to shake "himself", but found that his hands went straight through the other person's body.

A heavy rain started outside the window at some point, and the huge thunder covered up Qin Ying's suppressed crying.

Fu Hanzhou stood there, watching "himself" walk out of the room resolutely. Qin Meihua raised the corner of her mouth, followed behind with a smug and sinister look on her face, and supported the "frightened" and "wronged" "himself" out, pretending to be kind and caring:

"Brother Hanzhou, how could I treat you like this..."

He looked at the scene before him, and suddenly he recalled the scene where Qin Ying was in the alley outside the military compound, almost caught by the wall poster. The memory hit his mind like a heavy hammer:

She asked him desperately if he would abandon her if she was really reported on the wall.

So that’s what it means!

Zhao Shunxi put on his clothes, looked at Qin Ying with a wretched expression, and grabbed her:

"Look, I told you that you'd be mine sooner or later. Don't even think about it. Fu Hanzhou won't want a slut like you anymore. Don't leave tonight. Stay here..."

Qin Ying put on her clothes with a dull look, like a dead tree that had lost its vitality. She picked up the candy wrapper on the table and quietly put it into her pocket.

Fu Hanzhou looked at her heartbrokenly, watched Zhao Shunxi walk out of the guesthouse, and listened to Qin Ying's distraught muttering:

"Even if he doesn't want me, I have to prove my innocence. I'm not a fickle woman, I'm not cheap... I'm not cheap..."

"It's not your fault...it's me...it's me who failed to protect you!"

Fu Hanzhou's heart was broken. He walked forward and wanted to hold her in his arms, but he was powerless.

Qin Ying put on her clothes and ran out like crazy.

Fu Hanzhou followed behind her, but the moment he touched the tips of her hair, the scene spun around - the sound of heavy rain suddenly stopped, and the green-painted iron door of the Civil Affairs Bureau slammed open.
