Chapter 322 Please be mindful of your behavior

Qin Ying's voice came through the speakers, with electronic reverberation, but it made Wei Zhuolan's temples throb.

The veins on his hand that was holding the chair suddenly bulged, and the indicator light of his hearing aid flickered at his temple.

He looked at the woman under the spotlight, his Adam's apple rolling violently - Qin Ying in front of him had cut off her pigtails, and her temperament changed from gentle and bookish to capable and cold, but the arc of her eyelashes trembling when she lowered her eyes to adjust the microphone was exactly the same as the girl who gave a speech at the opening ceremony in his memory.

He recalled that day sixty-six years ago when her words, "Appreciate the one in front of you," became another interpretation of the theory of time and space that he had been pursuing all his life.

Some people below the podium applauded, but Wei Zhuolan suddenly laughed out loud.

The laughter grew louder, startling the surrounding scholars and causing them to turn their heads. He took off his reading glasses and wiped the lenses, his fingertips leaving three messy water marks on the glass—that was the first time he had touched the concrete evidence of "wrinkles in time and space" in reality.

It turns out that what he has been pursuing all his life is now within his reach.

"Professor Wei, what are you laughing at?"

The host took control of the situation at the right time and suppressed the chaos.

Wei Zhuolan looked at Qin Ying on the stage and said word by word:

"Comrade Qin Ying's research on consciousness and energy fields has a striking resemblance to the theory of space-time folds proposed at this conference. I'm... so happy!"

"Dr. Qin's research will surely shine in the future thanks to Professor Wei's praise."

The host responded appropriately.

"You're wrong. Comrade Qin Ying can shine brightly. I've witnessed her before, but I never thought I'd see her again in my lifetime. I've spent 60 years carving through time and space to see the person I wanted to see!"

Fu Hanzhou stepped out from the shadows, buttoning his uniform meticulously:

"Professor Wei, please be mindful of your behavior."

Wei Zhuolan pretended not to hear, counting the minutes on the wall. Sixty-six years and fourteen days had passed since that day in 1980. Inside his suit pocket, the red rubber band on his wrist, softened by his body heat, was a piece of paper he had preserved using a special technique.

Seeing Qin Ying coming down, he slowly walked over and stood in front of Qin Ying:

"You won't deny me, will you?"

He pulled out a lavender brooch from his front pocket. On his hand, which was as hot as the summer heat, the purple brooch shone brightly.

"Even if I were to admit my mistake, it wouldn't. It took me 60 years to find this place, and 6 years to find you, Qin Ying... 66 years, is that enough proof? What I've chiseled through isn't time and space, but my determination to see you."

"Now, Professor Wei Zhuolan will explain the feasibility of time travel—"

"you……"

Her voice was drowned out by the applause.

In the center of the venue, a white-haired old man took off his reading glasses, and the red rubber band on his wrist was particularly glaring under the spotlight.

Wei Zhuolan suddenly grabbed her wrist, his fingertips almost digging into her flesh:

"Do you think I won't recognize you if you change your identity?"

Qin Ying pulled her hand back, her heart almost jumping out of her chest. She pretended to be calm:

"Teacher Wei, some encounters only belong in stories."

"But I have come from the story to reality..."

Wei Zhuolan stared at her with his cloudy eyes:

"Qin Ying, come back with me, I'm still the same as before!"

Qin Ying stepped back in shock. The Wei Zhuolan in front of her seemed even more paranoid and crazy than in 1980.

Suddenly, Fu Hanzhou stood in front of her, his military uniform forming a sharp contrast with his white hair.

He held her wrist with a bony hand:

"Have you seen Love in Lushan Mountain?"

The man's voice was hoarse, but his eyes were surprisingly bright. Qin Ying looked up suddenly and looked deep into his eyes - there was the gentleness of Fu Hanzhou in 1980, as well as the perseverance of a strange soldier.

"This is the first domestic movie with a kissing scene. The story is earth-shattering, but I just want a steady and peaceful life..."

A low voice brushed past my ears.

She looked up suddenly and met a pair of eyes that were exactly the same as the ones in her memory.

The man was wearing a neat military uniform with a name tag on his left chest that read "Fu Hanzhou". There were no fine lines around his eyes, but the silver stars on his epaulettes burned her eyes.

Looking at Qin Ying in front of him, he could no longer control himself and hugged her tightly in his arms.

"I'm sorry I'm late..."

He said with a sob.

Qin Ying stood there at a loss, but felt a tenderness and regret in the other person's arms that she had never felt before.

"You are? Fu Hanzhou?!"

Before she could speak, Wei Zhuolan grabbed the collar of the man in military uniform, his pupils widening:

"Fu Hanzhou, you actually changed your face too!"

He suddenly pointed excitedly at the formula on the display board:

"66 years! I spent 66 years carving out this space and time. Why is it still yours?"

When he arrived in this era, it was 2040, and he had been secretly investigating "Qin Ying's whereabouts", but because the theory of space-time folds was immature, he had never found her.

So I spent six years inventing a tracker, but to no avail.

Now that I have found it, I met Fu Hanzhou again.

"Because she is my wife!"

Fu Hanzhou protected Qin Ying behind him, and the aura of the young soldier clearly prevailed.

Wei Zhuolan's eyes suddenly became paranoid and cold, and the wrinkles on his face suddenly relaxed:

"Fu Hanzhou."

He deliberately dragged out the ending sound:

"Guess how I calculated 'Wrinkles in Spacetime' over the past 66 years?"

He raised his bony hand, the calluses on his knuckles like layers of formulas:

"Using my lost teeth and my back that can no longer stand up straight. What gives you the right?"
