Chapter 6 Watching the fun with an illustration book

Qin Meihua was not done with her. Before she could say anything, there was a noise from the uncle's top bunk. The man living there turned over quickly and stuck his head out to look down.

He glanced at Qin Ying, then at Qin Meihua at the bottom. His eyes were uninhibited and casual. He spoke with a long trailing tone and a heavy articulation:

“You keep saying this lesbian can’t read. If she can’t read, is she just watching the fun with the illustrated book?

Besides, even if you can't read, isn't it just as good to look at paintings? That's right! The pursuit of knowledge is not limited to any form. Even watching the fun is a form of learning!"

This man is very handsome, with a fair face, gentle manner, elegant temperament, and a scholarly look. He seems to be about the same age as Fu Hanzhou.

Qin Ying looked at him gratefully, and curled the corners of her mouth unconsciously:

"You have a point!"

The uncle's expression became a little depressed, and he sighed:

"There is indeed another version!"

Qin Ying knew that what she had just said had touched the uncle, and after thinking for a moment, she said:

"Although Investiture of the Gods isn't one of the Four Great Classics, it's a novel rich in imagination and has a huge audience. Wherever there's an authentic copy, there will be pirated copies. Because it's popular, it brings value, and that's unstoppable!"

The uncle looked at Qin Ying through his glasses for a while, and sighed:

"You look young, but what you said is quite true!"

The wave of reform and opening up has brought opportunities, but it has also allowed speculation and piracy to take advantage of the situation.

She wanted to say something else, but Qin Meihua, who was in the lower bunk, spoke again:

"Uncle, don't listen to my sister's nonsense. She never even knew where the school gate was. How could she know so much from just a random remark? Don't be fooled by her!"

Her words sounded considerate, but they were still belittling Qin Ying.

"Sister, just because you don't know something doesn't mean others don't know it. This comrade has already said that the pursuit of knowledge is not limited to forms. Do I have to go to school to know this? School doesn't teach you how to eat, but don't you know how to eat?"

The uncle looked at Qin Ying. With the keenness of a cultured person, he could tell that Qin Ying's words were not random nonsense. He ignored Qin Meihua and said seriously:

"Comrade, you're not talking nonsense. Pirated copies are already appearing on the market, and it's hard to prevent them! Some comrades' year's hard work has gone to waste, which is really frustrating!"

In this era, Qin Ying didn't know how to solve this matter. Apart from resorting to law, there was no other good way to prevent it. After all, anti-counterfeiting technology was not that advanced.

Seeing that Qin Ying had nothing to say, Qin Meihua sneered:

"Uncle, I understand how you feel, but if you express your feelings to an illiterate girl like me, she can't help you at all!"

It's really annoying.

Two sisters fighting each other in public, isn't that a laughing stock?

Fu Hanzhou only thought that they were both vulgar rural women who had never seen the world.

Qin Ying was somewhat helpless, her voice filled with annoyance and indifference:

"Sister, you're right. You didn't sleep last night, so take a break. I'm just illiterate and can't say anything insightful. We're just chatting casually."

At this time, the uncle finally realized that Qin Meihua was always targeting Qin Ying, and frowned.

"Your sister has never been educated, why have you been educated?"

Qin Meihua didn't expect the uncle to ask this. She couldn't think of any good reason and said:

"She doesn't like studying, so of course her family won't support her!"

In fact, it’s not that the original body didn’t like to study, but Qin Shengcai and his wife didn’t allow her to study because they thought it was too expensive. Her parents abused her and just waited for her to get married so that she could get some betrothal gifts!

Besides, if she goes to study, who will do the work?

The uncle didn't comment on her reason and continued to flip through the book in his hand.

He could feel that Qin Meihua was not very friendly to this sister.

The man on the top bunk had been lying on his side since he finished talking, with his head propped up on one arm. This position was very convenient for him to look at Qin Ying. His eyes were bright and there was a faint smile on the corner of his mouth:

"Comrade, do you know what the book you are reading is about?"

Qin Ying nodded slightly:

"Yeah, I know a little bit."

She spoke calmly, without the slightest hint of restraint.

The man continued:

"It's about the supreme ruler, King Zhou!"

Qin Ying raised her eyelids and glanced over, not knowing whether he was serious or intentional. The uncle opposite also leaned over to look at the man, with a look of disapproval:

"Xiao Wei, that's not quite accurate!"

It turned out that the young man's surname was Wei, and they knew each other.

"Really? Now that this lady understands, could you tell me what's wrong?"

Comrade Wei looked at Qin Ying, waiting for her answer.

Qin Ying thought for a moment and said:

"Emperor Xin of Mankind was the Supreme Being, but because King Wen of Zhou rebelled, he lowered his status and became the Son of Heaven, becoming the Supreme Being. Even the funeral bell can only be tolled forty-five times. From then on, Heaven, Earth, and mankind were no longer equal!"

She said lightly, and added:

"But...it's half true!"

The uncle's eyes lit up. What Qin Ying said was not what was in the book:

"Young comrade, you really understand!"

Comrade Wei on the upper bunk leaned his head and raised the corner of his lips silently at him. He was deliberately helping Qin Ying!

She smiled back, and her heart suddenly felt warm!

Everyone outside could see that Qin Meihua had been making fun of her.

Fu Hanzhou turned his head to look at her, with an ambiguous look in his eyes.

Qin Ying suddenly met his gaze without any expression, and then looked away.
