Chapter 8: Detente
An uninhabited grassland on the outskirts of Kyoto
Purple lightning shuttled through the black clouds, emitting a heavy pressure.
The thunder from the sky struck fiercely and was completely absorbed by the purple talisman on the ground. The surrounding green grass turned into black ash in the blink of an eye.
The scattered pure spiritual power was completely absorbed by Jiang Chu who was standing beside him.
The thunder struck for about ten minutes and then stopped.
Jiang Chu, who was at the center of the thunder tribulation, was absorbing the majestic spiritual energy emitted by the heavenly thunder.
The spiritual energy of heavenly thunder is different. Jiang Chu can now summon the original fire.
Different from ordinary spiritual fire, Jiang Chu's original fire is golden and is the true fire of the sun, which can burn all evil.
Jiang Chu's safety is now more secure.
The time was almost up, Jiang Chu disappeared in an instant, leaving behind only the land scorched by the thunder.
Not only did Tao Wan come back for dinner, she also brought Li Zhao back with her.
As soon as Jiang Chu sat down, Li Zhao began to cry to Tao Wan, "I just said something to Miss Jiang because she was out all day and she called me the foulest-mouthed one."
"Madam, you don't know how filthy she was. She even asked Butler Zhang to kick me out."
Li Zhao looks quite heroic, and the contrast is very obvious when he cries.
After all, Li Zhao was raised by Tao Wan. Moreover, she had only heard Li Zhao's processed words and did not know that Li Zhao had thrown dirty water on Jiang Chu.
Tao Wan looked at Jiang Chu and slammed the table in anger: "You've been looking down on me more and more lately. Li Zhao is also half a member of the Fu family. Do you really think I don't know that you beat and scold her all the time?"
"It was Li Zhao who kept begging me not to blame you. It was her harsh words that offended you."
Li Zhao had told her many times before that Jiang Chu often beat and scolded them, the nannies. Every time she went to Jiang Chu to argue, they would have a big fight.
I didn’t expect that Jiang Chu still refuses to repent. What sin did the Fu family commit to marry such a daughter-in-law?
Jiang Chu recalled the original owner's memory. The original owner was disliked by everyone in the Fu family because of this person, who made the original owner angry and beat her.
She turned around with injuries on her face and complained to Tao Wan pitifully that the original owner often beat and scolded the nanny, and they told Tao Wan because they really couldn't stand it anymore.
The injuries on the body cannot be faked.
The nanny is also a member of the Fu family. The original owner bullied the nanny as soon as he arrived, which means he didn't take the Fu family seriously.
Tao Wan angrily went to settle the score with the original owner. The original owner also had a bad temper and started arguing with Tao Wan directly.
This happened several more times later.
Fu Ciyan ran over to calm Tao Wan down, "Mom, calm down first. You only heard Li Zhao's one-sided story. There were many people here at noon. Why didn't you ask them?"
Judging from what happened at noon, Li Zhao has bigger problems than Jiang Chu. Although Jiang Chu would go crazy and beat people from time to time, at least he did it in an open and aboveboard manner, but Li Zhao's sinister actions were really disgusting.
Fu Ciyan immediately formed a united front with Jiang Chu. His innocence was more important than getting beaten.
Li Zhao's tears fell faster. He looked at Fu Ciyan pitifully, his voice choked with sobs: "Does the Second Young Master think that I'm slandering Miss Jiang? Did I do something to make the Second Young Master misunderstand?"
This trick didn't work on Fu Ciyan. He had already heard the whole thing from the nanny: "Stop pretending. I don't know if you're stupid or what. You dared to lie to my mom when so many people saw you."
Even Fu Ciyan, who always hated Jiang Chu, was saying that Li Zhao was lying. Tao Wan looked at Li Zhao suspiciously: "You are not really lying to me, are you?"
Li Zhao didn't expect that she would believe Fu Ciyan's words so much. A trace of confusion flashed in his eyes, and he continued to pretend to be aggrieved and decisively threw out the dirty water.
"Miss Jiang must have said something to the Second Young Master."
She looked at Jiang Chu with a righteous look on her face: "If Miss Jiang really hates me, I will leave. There is no need to let the Second Young Master and Madam quarrel just to get rid of me."
Without saying a word, Jiang Chu, who had been constantly being cueed, couldn't stand it anymore: "Are you mentally ill?"
"You don't understand what I'm saying or what? We both know who started cursing at noon. You keep throwing dirty water on me, don't you think it's fun?"
"If you think it's too hard to learn to speak like a human, then go back to your shithole and save yourself from the stupidity of speaking like a non-human."
Fu Ciyan was amazed by what he heard. If it wasn't the wrong timing, he would have wanted to applaud Jiang Chu.
Li Zhao's tears fell even harder. She looked at Tao Wan as if she had suffered a great injustice: "Madam, look at her..."
Tao Wan was not stupid, she just trusted Li Zhao too much before.
Now Fu Ciyan has come out to say that there is something wrong with Li Zhao. Thinking back to the previous conflicts with Jiang Chu, nine out of ten were because of her, and the result is obvious.
Butler Zhang also arrived at this time, and when he saw Li Zhao, he understood what was going on.
In a few words, he told Tao Wan what happened at noon.
Tao Wan snorted coldly and looked at Li Zhao, who was already crying on the ground. "I didn't expect you to be this kind of person!"
"After insulting my eldest daughter-in-law, you still have the nerve to ask me to make a decision for you. The Fu family has raised you for so many years, but I didn't expect you to repay kindness with hatred and make our family so restless."
"Butler Zhang, kick her out and punish her for what she did. I don't think anyone would want to use her again!"
Li Zhao cried and knelt before Tao Wan, grabbing the hem of her skirt and saying, "Madam, I was just possessed by a ghost for a moment. Please let me go."
"The director of the orphanage is seriously ill and needs medical expenses. I can't be without a job."
Tao Wan's expression relaxed slightly, and she was a little moved, but she heard Jiang Chu sneer and directly exposed her lie: "Didn't the dean die of illness long ago because you stood by and watched?"
Tao Wan slammed the table, "You're still lying to me!"
"No, no," Li Zhao shook his head desperately. "Jiang Chu was just talking nonsense. How could a young lady like her know about the orphanage? She was lying to you, madam."
Fu Qingan suddenly spoke up: "Jiang...Sister-in-law is right. Last month, I saw people from the orphanage rushing to Li Zhao to ask for money, but Li Zhao didn't give them any."
Fu Ciyan: "You really are an ungrateful person."
Li Zhao also knew that the truth had been revealed and she had completely lost Tao Wan's trust.
That shouldn't be the case. Didn't that person say that Tao Wan would believe whatever she said?
Butler Zhang took the distraught Li Zhao out.
From the moment Jiang Chu saw Li Zhao, she noticed that the black energy emanating from Li Zhao resonated with the jade Buddha on Tao Wan's neck.
She also drew a tracking talisman and threw it on Li Zhao while no one was noticing her.
It seems that Jiang Chu doesn't need to deliberately look for the origin of this jade Buddha. It's really like someone giving you a pillow when you're sleepy.
Tao Wan said awkwardly: "I'm sorry, Chuchu."
Jiang Chu accepted the apology: "It's okay, I'm also wrong."
Everyone in the Fu family has done good deeds to some extent. The previous relationship was so strained, and both sides were at fault.
Jiang Chu took out three amulets he had drawn: "These are the amulets I drew myself. Carry them with you to keep you safe."
The three of them were flattered and took the amulet and put it in their bags.
Fu Ciyan was surprised: "You can actually draw talismans? I've never heard of it before."
"Idiot." Tao Wan knocked his head. "Chu Chu has only been in our house for a short time. There are so many things you don't know."
Fu Qingan nodded calmly and said, "Thank you very much."
The three of them all agreed that Jiang Chuhua had just drawn this talisman for fun, and that it wouldn't have any effect, so they just kept it as a token of appreciation.
Jiang Chu didn't explain too much and concentrated on eating.
The family atmosphere in the Fu family was rarely so good, and the atmosphere at the dinner table became lively, no longer as dull as it had been in the morning.
It was mainly Fu Ciyan and Tao Wan who were talking. The former was a heartless person, and the latter felt guilty towards Jiang Chu because of Li Zhao's matter.
Fu Qing'an spoke up for Jiang Chu only out of fairness and accepted Jiang Chu's kindness out of politeness. She did not truly agree with Jiang Chu in her heart.
When it was eight o'clock, Jiang Chu drew several more amulets until a stone hit her window.
Fu Ciyan's voice came from outside the window: "I'll be down right away."
The stone was bent by Fu Ciyan's friend, and Jiang Chu's room was next to his.
After putting away the drawn amulet, Jiang Chu followed Fu Ciyan downstairs.
