Chapter 2 A "Gift" from Heaven

I opened the thick wooden door and lifted the cotton curtain, and the cold wind blew towards me unhindered.

Ling Mu couldn't help but shudder, and when he saw the person coming, he shouted:

"Auntie Feng!"

Although he was wrapped in a thick green cotton-padded jacket and a headscarf, Ling Mu still recognized the person.

His cousin Li Feng.

Ling Mu quickly lifted the door curtain to let Li Feng in.

Chu Yuefang in the room was also a little surprised to see her cousin coming over.

"Feng'er? Why are you here today?"

"It's so cold, go warm yourself by the stove!"

No matter how thickly Li Feng was dressed, her face was still red from the wind.

"I have something important to tell you," Li Feng said as he waved to his nephew, asking him to help unbutton his big cotton-padded jacket.

Chu Yuefang looked at her and said:

"You can't even unbutton your clothes and you're wearing too many clothes. Aren't you afraid of being stuffy..."

But as the buttons were unbuttoned, the "things" inside were revealed -

A red, thick cotton swaddle.

A little face appeared from the swaddling clothes. Maybe it had been kept in the cotton-padded jacket for too long, so it looked rosy now, like a ripe apple just picked.

"Whose child is this?"

Chu Yuefang couldn't lie still anymore after seeing this, so she lifted the quilt, casually put on her shoes and came over.

I couldn't help but reach out and touch the swaddling clothes.

Now she finally understood why Li Feng was wearing such a big cotton-padded jacket. It turned out that there was this "treasure" hidden inside.

Li Feng handed the child to Chu Yuefang to hold, and stretched out his cold hands to warm the fire on the stove while saying:

"This child was picked up by my father-in-law and his family at the entrance of the health center this morning!"

Chu Yuefang was no stranger to Li Feng's father-in-law. She had given birth to Xiaowu in a health center. It was Li Feng's father-in-law who specifically told her that with her health condition...she could not have children in the future.

Chu Yuefang looked down at the child in her arms.

The fetus' hair is black and the complexion is rosy.

At this moment, he was sleeping soundly and snoring softly.

No matter how you look at it, he looks like a healthy child.

There are still many poor families these days, and many cannot afford to eat. To say that they would abandon their good children... although it is not common, it is not impossible.

Chu Yuefang felt sorry for the child and couldn't help complaining:

"How come someone can easily give birth to such a lovely daughter? I've been praying to heaven and earth every day but it's all in vain..."

This God is so unfair.

Ling Mu couldn't help but look at the little baby.

The little baby in Chu Yuefang's arms woke up at this moment. He didn't cry, but just opened his pair of black eyes.

The mother and son's attention were all on the child.

When these bright eyes move around, it really makes people feel like their hearts are melting.

This child is so adorable...

Li Feng couldn't help but smile when he saw the soft look in her eyes and brows.

"Sister, I won't beat around the bush with you. Let me tell you straight, this is why I'm here."

"My father-in-law asked me to ask you if you are willing to take this child in and raise him. If you want him, I will give him to your family. If not... I will send him to the county town tomorrow."

Chu Yuefang's eyes widened when she heard this.

This…this is…

Chu Yuefang never imagined that Li Feng came here to send the child off!

She was so excited that her hands were shaking, and she said in a trembling voice:

"Really?"

Li Feng nodded: "How can we joke about such a serious matter?"

Li Feng's father-in-law remembered how Chu Yuefang and her family looked like they were struck by lightning when they learned that they could no longer have children. He also knew that the Ling family had always wanted a daughter, but they just couldn't get what they wanted. That's why Li Feng hurriedly took the child there even in the snow.

Also, let's see if we can find a better place for this poor child.

Otherwise, we can only find a way to send it to the county town.

The little girl in the cradle had her eyes half closed, and she looked a little listless.

Seeing this, Chu Yuefang felt as if her heart was being pulled.

"Is the child hungry? Has he eaten yet?"

Chu Yuefang asked anxiously.

Li Feng shook her head: "She had been sleeping before."

"He must be hungry!" Chu Yuefang subconsciously turned her head to look at her eldest son.

Ling Mu didn't need his mother's instructions and had already handed over the bottle.

The freshly brewed milk powder inside was emitting warm heat.

Chu Yuefang was a little surprised. She had been "taught a lesson" by her eldest son before because of the milk powder issue, but she didn't expect that he would take the initiative now...

But that's not important right now.

She quickly put the bottle mouth to the cherry-red mouth of the baby girl in her arms.

Gulp... Gulp...

The little girl seemed to have tasted something sweet, and her bright black eyes narrowed slightly.

Chu Yuefang breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the child enjoying his meal.

"How about it? Do you like this child? Do you want to keep him?" Li Feng asked hurriedly.

Rather than sending the child to an orphanage, Li Feng actually hoped that her cousin could keep the child.

After all, a little girl can't eat much more food, so it's not a big problem for her cousin's family, and it can also make up for her cousin's regret of not having a daughter.

Chu Yuefang opened her mouth and was about to speak.

It was Ling Mu, who had been staring at the swaddling clothes, who spoke first:

"think."

Chu Yuefang and Li Feng were both stunned, their eyes fixed on him.

Ling Mu's expression didn't change much, but his eyes looked very determined.

"I want to keep her as a sister."
