Chapter 4: Famous

In the evening, Ling Hancheng brought his fourth son Ling Li home. When they entered the yard, they saw that there were several rooms but only the main room had light on.

As the father and son entered the house, they heard a rare slight noise inside.

"Sister, look at me, look at me, I am the second brother~"

"I'm the third brother, sister~sister~"

"Sister, do you want some candy?"

This is the voice of the twins.

Then came Chu Yuefang's voice——

"What candy? My sister can't eat it now."

"Sister may be even younger than Xiaowu, and she can't speak yet! Don't be so anxious."

"Come here, little darling~ Mommy is here to hold me~"

The father and son listened in a daze.

younger sister?

Where did this girl come from in their family?

Ling Hancheng brought his fourth son in.

The lights in the room were on, which was rare, but they were a little dim, and there was an extra bright red candle lit.

Chu Yuefang was half lying on the bed, holding a somewhat unfamiliar red swaddle in her arms, and on the other side lay the familiar blue swaddle of her little son.

The twin sons were now squatting on the bed very quietly, while the eldest son Ling Mu was sitting on a yellow rattan chair beside the bed.

Ling Hancheng was a little confused for a moment.

Their family...when did they have another child?

Didn't he just go out for a day?

Ling Li, the fourth child of the two families, who was only four years old this year, didn't have time to think about anything else and ran over.

"There's one more!"

Only then did the others turn their attention over.

Ling Yuefang smiled at her husband: "You're back. Did Mom send you off on the train?"

Old Mrs. Ling has always lived with her second son's family, but every winter Uncle Ling would take his old mother to Tianjing City. The conditions there were much better than in the countryside, and it was better to spend the winter there than in the ice and snow here.

In June this year, Chu Yuefang gave birth to Xiaowu. The old lady was worried about her daughter-in-law's health, so she took care of her for a while longer. Otherwise, she should have passed away at the end of October, but it was delayed until November.

Ling Hancheng sent his mother to the county town to take the train today.

"I've delivered it. It just so happens that a friend of mine from Yangqiu Village is also going there. I asked him to take care of my mom. Don't worry." Ling Hancheng said.

Ling Yuefang nodded: "That's good."

Ling Yuefang's biological mother passed away early. After marrying into the Ling family, she always treated her mother-in-law as her biological mother, and the relationship between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is no worse than that of biological mother and daughter.

She was worried about her mother-in-law taking the train alone. After all, the world was still very chaotic. She originally wanted Ling Hancheng to accompany her mother-in-law, but Mrs. Ling didn't allow it, fearing that no one would take care of her daughter-in-law.

Now that she heard that her mother-in-law was being taken care of, Chu Yuefang felt much more relieved.

"By the way, Feng'er came to our house today..."

When Chu Yuefang saw her husband staring at the child in his arms, she remembered that she had not yet told him about this important matter.

"So, as long as we want, this child can stay in our family?"

Chu Yuefang saw that although her husband was talking to her, his eyes were uncontrollably glued to the baby. She knew that the problem must be serious, and the corners of her mouth gradually rose.

"Yes, Feng'er said that if we're willing, we can raise the child. We can also arrange the household registration and other things," Chu Yuefang said. "What a lovely child! I don't know how their biological parents could have the heart to abandon them. They are so heartless!"

If the people at the health center had been a step later, this lovely child might have become a lonely ghost frozen to death in the snowy night.

It hurts my heart just thinking about it.

The sons all spoke up at this moment -

"Dad, please keep my sister here! Don't send her back!" These are the second and third twins.

"Yes, Dad, I will definitely be able to feed my sister if I eat less in the future!" The fourth brother, the big eater who always eats the most, also said.

Although he had just seen the little baby, he liked it so much that his eyes seemed to be shining.

Ling Mu said: "We will work hard to support our sister!"

“Ahhhhhhh…”

Ling Xiaowu, who couldn't speak yet, didn't know if he heard the voices of his brothers. He stretched out his arms from the cradle and waved them around, as if he was expressing his opinion.

Faced with his sons' earnest pleas and his wife's expectant eyes, Ling Hancheng almost agreed immediately.

But as the head of the family, he is much more clear-headed and knows that raising another child is not a casual thing.

He asked his four sons to stand in a row, looked into their eyes and said:

"It's normal to want a younger sister. Dad loves daughters, too, but we can't just have another child."

"You have to understand that this child doesn't have the same parents as you. You think she's cute now and want to raise her, but what about the future? What if you don't like her anymore? Will you still care about her?"

When adopting a child, having more food to eat is secondary, but the most important thing is the responsibility that comes with the child.

It's not as simple as raising a kitten or puppy.

Ling Hancheng was afraid that his sons were just acting on impulse. What would he do if they got bored after the novelty wore off?

After all, there is a lack of blood relationship.

The sons looked at each other, and the three younger brothers finally looked at their eldest brother.

On some major issues, they always follow the lead of their eldest brother.

Ling Mu raised his head slightly, and met his father's gaze without any fear:

"Dad, even though we are young, we know that raising a child is definitely not easy. We like our little sister and we are willing to raise her."

"Even if she's not my mother's daughter, she's registered as ours. We won't let anyone else leave if they want her. How dare you worry that we won't like her?"
