Chapter 19 Eating the Porridge He Cooked

Gu Chijin remained calm, took Shi Qi's left hand, and with a sudden force, easily straightened him up.

My legs still hurt.

But he didn't care. He helped her to the bed and covered her with the quilt lightly before Gu Chijin left.

His hand fell on the door handle, but he didn't close the door, thinking that it would be difficult to hear what might happen later.

The door was wide open, and the cool night breeze blew into the house through the door.

The medicine he had just taken gradually took effect, and Shi Qi's consciousness gradually became clear.

Although my body still felt uncomfortable, my head didn't hurt as much as before.

After opening his eyes, Shi Qi tilted his head to look outside and found Gu Chijin sitting in the living room. A vague thought popped up in his mind.

This man is quite reliable.

The original owner did so many things to ruin his reputation, but he didn't hold a grudge against her. Instead, he stood outside the door to keep an eye on her.

His heart felt warm, but Shi Qi couldn't resist the sleepiness and fell asleep in an instant.

The sky was bright and the cicadas in the yard outside the house were chirping louder and louder.

Shi Qi slept until noon.

The dazzling sunlight shone through the window onto her bed, making it difficult for her to open her eyes.

I sweated a lot last night, and when Shi Qi got up, he felt sticky all over.

She stuck her head out to take a look, and didn't see Gu Chijin in the living room, so she closed the door and changed into clean clothes.

Shi Qi originally planned to take a shower, but when he thought about how painful he was last night, he decided not to do anything about it.

Her physical condition is so poor and she hasn't recovered from her cold yet. If she gets a fever again after taking a bath, she will be the one who suffers.

After hesitating for a while, Shi Qi gave up the idea of taking a shower.

I opened the door holding dirty clothes and saw Gu Chijin slowly walking out of the kitchen.

Seeing what she was holding, he frowned and asked, "Are you feeling better from your cold?"

His tone was unfriendly, and Shi Qi couldn't figure out what he meant.

"My head still hurts a little, but it's much better than last night."

Shiqi spoke truthfully.

"So you still want to do the laundry?"

This woman can't even take care of herself?

He was in excruciating pain last night, and he started working early this morning without a break. If you didn't know, you would think he was being harsh on his wife.

Shi Qi was puzzled before she realized that this man actually cared about her?

It's really a thriller.

Seeing Gu Chijin staring at him without saying anything, Shi Qi immediately explained:

“I don’t want to wash now.

The dirty clothes in the room smell, so I take them to the bathroom to soak and then wash them at night."

Is there any difference?

They're all washing clothes, so isn't it the same whether you wash them in the morning or at night?

Gu Chijin's brows were knotted, and he didn't want to say anything more:

"Put it somewhere first and wash it when you feel better."

It was inconvenient for him to squat now, otherwise he would have washed her directly.

Although he hated this woman, he was still willing to wash his clothes for her because she came home to cook for him every day in the past few days.

"The porridge is ready, let's eat."

Shi Qi had a fever last night and Gu Chijin didn't sleep well either.

I stayed in the living room for the second half of the night and only went back to my room to take a nap at three or four in the morning.

But his biological clock is there, and he is used to getting up early in the army.

At 6:30 in the morning, no matter how late I slept the night before, I will wake up on time when I arrive at the store.

I tossed and turned in bed and couldn't sleep, so I went straight to the kitchen to make porridge.

Shi Qi looked at him in surprise, and his opinion of Gu Chijin completely changed.

The man in front of me is rational, calm, upright and compassionate.

He could do this to his wife who almost cheated on him. He is nothing like the villain described later in the book.

I really don't know why he would attack the male protagonist in the end just because of a position.

Could it be that there is some hidden secret?

Shi Qi stood there, frowning, and kept recalling the plot of the book, but found that the book described too little about Gu Chijin, which made her unable to find any useful information.

"What are you still standing here for? Aren't you hungry?"

Gu Chijin's legs couldn't stand for long. When he took her into the house last night, the wound broke open and started bleeding again.

Today, when I was washing rice, it was a bit difficult for me to stand.

I'm afraid I won't be able to exert any more strength in the next few days.

After standing here with Shi Qi for a while, I started to feel pain again.

Hearing his impatient voice, Shi Qi immediately came back to his senses, put his clothes back on the wooden box in the room, and went to the kitchen to get porridge.

"Your leg isn't fully healed yet, so just sit at the table. I'll get the porridge."

Entering the kitchen, Shi Qi looked at the empty stove and found that Gu Chijin had only cooked porridge.

Looking at the occupied iron pot, Shiqi sighed.

Forget it, forget it. Her cold hasn’t healed yet, and just drinking porridge can clear her stomach.

After filling two bowls of porridge and placing them on the table, Shi Qi took out the sugar he had bought in the city.

The plain porridge tasted bland in his mouth, so Shi Qi added two spoonfuls of sugar to his bowl.

Gu Chijin caught a glimpse of Shi Qi's actions, paused in drinking his porridge, and looked up.

Shi Qi mistakenly thought that he wanted it too, and without thinking, added two spoonfuls to his bowl.

Finally, with her moist eyes still open, she asked innocently:

"Is it enough?"

The spoon in Gu Chijin's hand froze, and he felt speechless for the first time.

This woman.

Who asked her to add sugar to his bowl?

Can't she ask before she does anything?

Staring at Shi Qi's doubtful eyes, Gu Chijin squeezed out two words from between his teeth:

"That's enough. Also, don't put sugar in my bowl anymore!"

He loves sweet things, but he really doesn't like drinking sweet porridge.

Mixing white sugar with soft porridge would make him feel too sweet and he would be reluctant to swallow it.

The sweet red bean soup is bearable.

"Don't you like sweet things?"

Seeing Gu Chijin's expression of rejection, Shi Qi glanced into his bowl and spoke uncertainly:

"Don't tell me you like sweets but don't like sweet porridge?"

He remained silent, and Tokisu was shocked.

She had only heard of this habit from a few people online before.

They said they like eating vinegar, but they don’t like dipping dumplings in vinegar.

It's obviously the same food, but when it's used in other places, it will be disliked by people who like it.

In Shi Qi's eyes, this situation is equivalent to a person who likes to eat sesame seeds and meatballs, but when the two are combined to make sesame meatballs, he won't even touch them. It's the same principle.

What surprised Shi Qi even more was that the person who had this habit was actually Gu Chijin.

A soldier who endured hardships without a complaint, yet he actually had such a hilariously adorable habit?!

His eyes scanned back and forth over Gu Chijin's sharp brows, and Shi Qi couldn't hold back any longer, so he burst out laughing.

It was so funny that she didn't even realize that Gu Chijin, this tough guy, was actually so funny.

Gu Chijin knew what Shi Qi was laughing at. He glared at her unhappily, picked up the bowl, and drank the porridge in a few mouthfuls.

After drinking, he went straight back to his room with a cold face.

She was laughing so happily, so even if her cold hadn't healed, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Let her clean up on her own!

Gu Chijin, who was being ridiculed, began to regret after hearing the woman's clear laughter.

He shouldn't have gotten up to make breakfast in the morning.

After lying on the table and laughing for a while, Shi Qi slowly finished his bowl of sweet porridge.

After drinking it, I felt in a good mood and felt more energetic.
